Monitor the air all you want, the only thing that will actually start fixing the problem is replacing the belching buses with zero-emission vehicles.

I used a GoPro snapped into a bracket on the front of the fairing of my first bike, it had a lot of vibration in the image but would have been good enough to prove innocence in a crash. Kind of a pain to mount & power up for each ride.
I have a hardwired camera system in my second bike, with a front and rear camera. It auto-records and has great stable image quality.
I would never ride a motorbike in this country without video for proof when needed.- 4

It's a good start but only 2 DC charging stalls and a maximum of 125KW isn't going to support the surge I expect in EVs. I took pictures and video the other day and will make a video about it on my YouTube channel.

I had two charges from Coles in Australia against my BB card about a month ago. I called the bank and they're reversed one so far, no word on the second one. I also contacted Coles on their web page, not a peep back from them.

I looked at it several years ago, seemed OK on the surface. Check with some current owners about the management team and maintenance and any issues with units being short-term rented leading to noise issues.
I'm just behind there in Tira Tiraa, you should check it out too.

I made an app for Android called "Bangkok Train Map" that shows all of the Bangkok BTS, MRT, ARL and SRT train routes. I've spent the evening updating it with the new Dark Red and Light Red lines, but I can't find the GPS location of two of the Light Red stations:
"Phra Ram 6"
"Bang Kruai-EGAT"
If somebody could do me a huge favour and go to these stations, go up to street level and capture the GPS coordinates with Google Maps that would be simply awesome and I would be forever in your debt.

The certificate is self issued by DJI the Chinese manufacturer of the drone...it does not give you permission to break Thai CAAT law.
Thai immigration warned me about flying in my land 6 kms west of Hua Hin saying it was illegal.
I will end as I began Hua Hin City is a no fly zone according to immigration and CAAT laws.
You carry on believing you are ok but by self unlocking you are stating you have permission to fly....you do not.
I was hoping you had a legal way to get permission to be able to fly within 9kms of the airport.
Not trying to be argumentative but do not want a big fine. Self unlocking will certificate you to fly above Hospitals, schools, Army camps, National Parks, and even The Grand Palace in Bangkok but will not give you permission!
I wouldn't trust Thai Immigration to give me advice on where I can fly a drone, as far as I could throw them. They don't even know their own rules.
DJI follows the zoning data issued by the relevant aviation authority in every country around the world.
Of course you can fly where you decide to and I will do the same.

I'm flying to America on JAL on August 23 to see my new granddaughter. Getting the good jabs is a happy co-effect. My flight price was around what you're quoting. I booked it a few months ago and was able to do my seat assignment in the front row of the coach cabin with only 2 seats and unlimited legroom due to the hallway to the door.

Thank you for your reply.
I am aware of the self unlock certificate ...Drone pilots with verified DJI accounts can self-unlock some areas if they have necessary approvals from local authorities, full article..https://dronedj.com/2019/02/28/dji-geofencing-2-0-asia-pacific/
How do you get the appropriate permission to allow yourself to self unlock.
Other than two two licenses and the insurance policy, there is no requirement to get permission to fly into authorization zones from any authorities. Just go through the process on the web site and load it into the drone. No need to overcomplicate.

I have studied caat drone regs ,fly now app along with DJI safe fly and still cannot see how to fly within 9km of an airport.
I have a large area of land about 6km west of Hua Hin ( within 9km dark red no fly zone on app maps)and would love to be legally allowed to fly there. How can I be sure I am not breaking the 9km no fly zone? My DJI mini 2 only warns me and asks if I have correct permission. Again only asking so as to be able to enjoy flying without potential issues. If possible link to anything that allows flights within 9kms of an airfield or ways to obtain permission. Thank you.
I have exactly the same drone and app. As I said above, you can go to the DJI web site and register for a certificate to enter the round zone around the airport, then it gets downloaded into the controller and the drone.
https://fly-safe.dji.com/unlock
Log in, then click + New Unlock Request. Click Confirm. Click Zone Unlocking then Confirm. Select your previously-registered drone type, serial number and pilot from the dropdowns and click Next. Move the map to Hua Hin and click on the blue circle labelled Authorization Zones: Hua Hin Airport. Select your flight date and enter a reason to fly in the zone, then click Submit. It will be automatically approved.
Power up the drone and controller. I don't have them with me now, but there's a section of the app to load the approved certificate into the controller and drone.
When you're flying the app will pop up a message when you touch the perimeter of the zone, you click OK and then you can fly inside it.
There will be a second vocal warning when you get to the exclusion zone along the runway. This is a hard zone and you should not fly into it. -

Please point me to this. I am seriously interested as I hold a drone licence and was informed by Thai Authorities of the drone restrictions within Hua Hin City and surrounding areas. https://royalcoastreview.com/2019/08/hua-hin-is-a-no-drone-zone/
Happy to be wrong!
Sure, here it is. Let me know if you have any questions. Ironically, I'm working with David from Royal Coast Review on some of my recent drone flights! Points 1-3 in the article from 2019 are correct, #4 is not correct, or at least no longer correct.

yes the confusion about drones being legal is why i did not buy one.
Richard Barrow flies his drone in many locations in Thailand.

i did read you need to apply for permission for each flight which seemed crazy to me. there is a size limitation. small drones are not "as restricted" sorry don't have a link.
You only need to apply for a flight if you're entering a "soft" restricted zone where permission is automatically granted. They just want to know that you are entering the area, and the drone is tied back to your passport.
In Thailand there is no size/weight issue: all camera-equipped drones are treated the same and you must get the two licenses and the insurance policy to be in compliance.

Hua Hin is a no fly zone as is within 9kms of an airport. Most of this area is restricted.
You're 100% wrong. I explained the zone issues extensively in a previous post.

Hey! That's me! ????
Thanks to Paul and Hua Hin Today for the post. I relied on Paul's story about the predictions on the launch of the train service in my videos.
I'm enjoying flying the drone on the train line in Hua Hin, around the Royal Golf Club, the beach and other locations.
There are some restrictions on flights like 90 meters maximum height and no flying within airport restricted areas, and of course "don't hit anything!"
Follow the link to Paul's article to find my YouTube channel with the rest of my videos.

The drone in the picture is a DJI Mavic Air 2. DJI has something like 70% of the world's drone market share. These drones have some of the most sophisticated mechanical, electrical and software engineering I've seen in my 40 years working in engineering. I've been flying my DJI Mini 2 drone for 5 months and can give the following observations:
First, there's no way that 9 km from an airport is in a restricted area. The app that controls my DJI drone knows every restricted area on the planet. The Hua Hin airport has two restricted areas:
When I approach the 4 km-radius "outer" bubble around the Hua Hin airport, the app confirms that I have applied for and been approved for a digital certificate to fly inside the bubble. The drone then can fly inside that bubble. Without the certificate the drone will just not fly into the bubble no matter how hard the pilot tries. The certificate only lasts for 3 days, so when I want to fly down the Hua Hin train track construction every month, I need to apply for a new certificate and make the flight within the next 72 hours.
The "inner" restricted 3D-shaped area goes exactly along the inbound and outbound runway path, extends about 100 meters from the sides of the runway, and curves up on each end to follow an aircraft's standard flight corridor. If I were to fly into that shape, a message would pop up on the app and the drone will simply not fly into it. This area is fully prohibited, for very good reasons. Note that since the box curves up, I could in theory fly at say 5 meters over the water directly under the flight path. I have never tried this, nor would I, but it is legal.
There is an army base in the south of Hua Hin that has no restricted area marked on it. Now, it's more of a bunch of buildings and a golf course, so perhaps there are more active bases where things like live fire training occurs, and those would have an appropriate prohibited zone that the drone would not fly into.
Second, the argument about "can interfere with communications" is a standard red-herring intended to scare people, with no facts behind it. Drone pilots must be licensed for the radio communication between the controller and the drone. When I applied, the web site knew exactly the frequencies and signal strength of the drone based on its model and actual serial number. The Thai broadcasting authorities are aware of radio interference issues and the manufacturers are very careful with their designs.
Finally, crashing your drone anywhere is dumb. The pilot could be punished on that basis. Any damages to property would be paid out under the 1 million baht insurance policy that all drone pilots must carry.
In the end, I expect the pilot to perhaps be fined for crashing the drone. No other charges or scaremongering apply.
