  1. I'm on the Co-owner's board for my condo.  We have the same expenses going out as always, however less room cleaning has led to a voluntary small reduction in the pay for the cleaning ladies.

After a nearly perfect 10 year payment history, we have about 15 people out of 168 who have not paid their 2021 commons fees.  They are all accruing interest penalties and will have their water turned off if they don't pay.

You buy a condo, you are responsible for your commons fees under the Condominium Act.

    Dear God,

    Not this again.

Only thing that pink card has proven useful for is wasting a person's time. Really needs to be renamed Geezercard©

No government official has ever turned me away for lack of a pink card. If you showed it to a cop they would laugh. Seriously.

I got on an airplane with it once.  No other ID shown.

This guide to using the Doctors Ready (mor prom in Thai) LINE Official Account to register for the Covid-19 vaccine is very helpful.  It's not really an app, that's why you can't find it in the Play Store.  The attached guide does a good job to get you started.

    COVID Vaccination Registration Information-03-05-2021.pdf 324.41 kB · 4 downloads

Hey thanks!  That's my document, from our Facebook group  "❤️ Hua Hin COVID-19 Community Support ❤️".   All are welcome to join to get the best information we can out to our members.

I just downloaded it via LINE on my computer and it was automatically picked up on my phone.  It is in Thai, but I'll get my girlfriend to help me with that.  Not sure I'll be able to register as I don't have a pink card, but we'll see and it's a start.

Yes, that's the Line app everyone is using.  We're looking for separate apps for iPhone and Android.

    Mohpromt

Your Appstore location (apple) has to be set to Thailand....  (the Moh promt App is not available outside of Thailands App store).

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201389

(just having your current location , date & time settings etc - is not the same as setting your Appstore location)

Thanks for the correct spelling, I'll put that in my document.

I'm on Android with Thailand set and nothing shows up with that name, but I'll keep checking.

Why is everything in Thailand always so confusing and convoluted LOL?  The Mor Prom app on line was almost impossible to find, and now that I found it, it is entirely written in Thai, and seems to require a PINK CARD # (which I don't have).

Can anyone provide explanation or links for the following questions? (I'm sure I'm not the only one confused about all of this, and googling has not provided much help, so if you have answers, you'd be helping me and probably a lot of others too).  If you have nothing useful to add, please don't reply to my post with non-pertinent comments or remarks:

    • I have a Thai Drivers License; is there a possibility that it could be used in lieu of a pink card?  When I first came to Thailand I was advised there was absolutely no reason to get a pink card if you had a Thai drivers license...but I have heard nothing mentioned about it being acceptable for this Mor Prom app.
    • Is there some setting on Mor Prom app so it reads in English?  I am English speaking and it is impossible to navigate through the app as is for me.
    • Is there an actual phone app in the works that will replace this one currently on LINE (that hopefully will allow English selection)?
    • If registering through this app isn't going to work for me, what in-person registration alternatives are there in the PATTAYA area?

No. No. No.  Go to a government hospital.

  7. I just made a post in my Hua Hin COVID support group with all of the vaccination information I've been able to find and validate. The over-60s among us, or people with one of the health issues, should be able to register via the Line account as I've detailed in the PDF file. Let me know if you can successfully register and if you're able to book an appointment.

You'll need to request membership in the group as per normal FB, I'll keep watching for new requests.

Update, eventually successful booking on the Mor Prom app, using Pink ID

There doesn't appear to be any options without a Thai ID number. A thai can book on behalf of someone else but it still requires that persons ID number

I'm putting together information for our Hua Hin COVID support Facebook group.  I tried to enter my Pink card, but the Line form is asking for two numbers.  I see a number across the top of the card and another number under my picture.  Which numbers did you enter from your card to get through the validation?  Thanks!

  9. On the advice of a crypto-savvy Thai friend I've just signed up at bitkub.com.  They claim to be Thailand's leading crypto site.

They have an extensive identification process, with special handling for US citizens, which I'm going through now.  It will take up to 14 days to authenticate me before I can start trading.  They will report my activity directly to the IRS.

  10. I've been using Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi for over a year.  I've tied in my LAN, TV, aircons, AC outlets, solar power meters and LED lights (flashed with the Tasmota firmware).  I have scripts for different scenes, triggers when I leave and arrive based on my phone leaving or joining the Wifi network, and a voice control system (for $5/month).  You have to commit to a deep-dive in the underlying tech, but the power is there to provide a ton of functionality.  If you're not afraid of super tech, it's a fun thing to invest a lot of time in.

I have made several YouTube videos on it.  Due to TV policy, please PM me and I'll send you the links.
