  1. It’s a no brainer. Be self reliant and with large tax receipts, well paid jobs with inputs into national economy or rely on costly and unreliable imports. The green argument doesn’t hold up…. Importing oil and gas is less green then producing from own fields Drill baby drill

  17. I think that if you can prove you already had that $100k in your account, before the start of this year, then you can subsequently bring in up to that $100k tax free. After that amount it will be assessable for tax.

  19. Only just seen this thread so a bit late but wishing you all the best and a speedy recovery
  20. Hi Crossy, Do you know if the new electronic meters "clock up" units if i am exporting to the grid or just not "clocking down" We got changed to new meter and so i have unplugged one GTI so as not to produce more than our normal daytime consumption in case they do indeed charge for exporting
  21. If true then you will probably be buying it at least over 40% market value
  22. Thats a bit of a worry Has anyone else have any experience of the smart meters?
  23. Sorry for late replies, away at work, Yes, pretty sure they saw meter going backwards, they came a day early on the reading before last so it would have been going backwards. So, two days ago they came and changed us to a smart meter, wife had to sign, and the man said we good to plug back in now haha. Obviously it will delay ROI but will get there eventually. The man also said they were changing a lot of people with solar to smart meters so sounds like they are actively looking so beware
  24. So, only approx BHT2500 short of break even on my DIY car port solar, i have received the dreaded letter from MEA to shut down my 'installation' with threat of meter change (not a problem) or be cut off....yikes
