non o visa, retirement,savann
sidgy replied to ba ba's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
So i am ten months into my ME NO marriage from savannakhet, is it possible to get one year extension from CW without having to get a 60 day extension first? I travel in/out LOS every three weeks so 60 day complicates things If not and i have to go savannakhet again, do i need to wait until current visa expires? TIA -
PEA found out meter is spinning backward
sidgy replied to eddysacc's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
To be fair, i totally understood the risk before installing my panels and will reach a ROI this year so not the end of the world for me. PEA/MEA do need to make money, but yes, for a greener future, they need to look at their policies WRT home solar instalations -
PEA found out meter is spinning backward
sidgy replied to eddysacc's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Hoping we have not been caught out, meter has Always been read on the 5th of the month, so usually ensure we using more than producing but this week i found the bill in the postbox on late afternoon on the 4th !!! -
PEA and Solar how low can you go?
sidgy replied to MJCM's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Our meter reading is always the 5th of the month, in the morning. The only exception was when i was caught out when he arrived a day early, mid afternoon when we max producing. The 5th was a holiday, cant remember what for but luckily he didn't notice/didn't report the backwards spinning meter -

Do you even use Wise? If you did, you would know it tells you exactly how long the transfer took..in seconds -

Cannot say for certain, i usually transfer every couple of months when home in Thailand and during daytime. Not sure if same speed outside of banking hours. -

Within a minute...usually around seven seconds -
flying with Thai every three weeks direct to Europe. The price is the cheapest option and no stopover in the ME. Service is good, main meal better than other airlines, breakfast same as others.... dog s*** The worst thing is, unlike six months ago, the plane is 100% full every time now, i was getting quite accustomed to having a row to myself haha.

yeah, i remember 2011, many announcements how we not going to be flooded as this and that all being managed even as the waater was rising around our feet haha
-
Looks like its getting slightly better. Hope the worst is over for you.

As above. Within a couple of months, our usage from grid was down 60%, no concerns ever raised. When home, i always ensure we are using more then producing on meter reading day, when i'm away, i am fairly confident the wife is not so "methodical" Our bill is also creeping up as the wife is a lot more carefree with usage "as its free" haha -
yeah, i'm hoping with our condo being a new build and the first six floors being car parking, they have actually located all of this with some elevation....but...

Fingers crossed for you. We moved to South Bangkok via central BKK after getting flooded out in 2011 from BangBuaThong in Nonthaburi province But earlier this year, purchased 2nd property (condo) back in Nonthaburi... by the river.. haha... never been lucky but at least its on the 12th floor this time

Not sure, if price changed, it was my first time there. I opted to pay in Thai baht as that was what i had. There is an option to get the visa online prior to arrival someone mentioned earlier in this thread. Again, sorry not sure. I went on a Thursday morning and picked up on Friday afternoon but looking at the website, you can go any day Monday to Friday

That would work a treat, excellent suggestion.

So, went to savannakhet and got one year multi entry. Took with me following docs:- Marriage cert, original and copy Kor Roh 2 (wife got from amphur cost 1 (yes One) baht copy of my passport copy of wifes passport main page and copy of wifes ID card copy of yellow house book with pages showing wife name and also pages with childrens names on filled in application form passport sized photos (more on this later) Absolute breeze at consulate, (open between 09:00 and 11:00) lady checked docs, attached passport sized photos to application for me. Paid 5000bht and received receipt and ticket for collection next day at 14:00 The only downside to be wary of.... Caught bus from Mukdahan bus station to Laos. Bus stops at Thai immigration, get off bus, go through immigration to get stamped out, get back on bus, no problem for me but only half the passengers had got through immigration and back on the bus before the driver closed the doors and set off to the Laos side of the bridge. They would then probably have to wait for one hour for the next bus! Got visa on arrival in Laos (1500bht and 30mins) went through immigration and took tuk tuk. Wife had called me to say i had left my Photos on the table at home. Tuk Tuk driver who spoke good English took me to photo shop, explained to the owner what i needed and took me to consulate once i had photos... 200 baht On return, i took tuk tuk to the Laos immigration, straight after getting stamped out, buy your bus ticket back to mukdahan before going through turnstile. The booth is hard to spot as looks same as the IO booth Hope this helps somebody

This will be my option. Have plenty of funds thank you. Due to working offshore, never spend more then 3 weeks at a time in LOS, therefore its this option or Thai Elite..... think i prefer this one thanks
