I was under the impression that Jomtien immigration is closed on Saturdays. Is this not the case?

I think most Filipinos are coming to Thailand to work illegally. Immigration is probably pretty skeptical of them.

Hehe...right. and another reason I don't date Thai women (actually there are at least twenty reasons).

When I used to date Thai women, they would always insist I tip the servers in restaurants. When told that I knew Thais don't tip and why should I, the response was always "you are falang; falang have money." Usually that was the last date.

When getting a 30 day extension, where in the Jomtien immigration office should we go? In the main building or off to the right?

Please don't travel Thailand by motorcycle.
I'm begging you.
Go to Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and have a great, safe trip.
Watch several hours of YouTube videos on THAILAND CAR CRASHES. You will see that in the majority of accidents, brakes were not applied prior to a crash. Thais simply cannot process information quick enough to be safe drivers. And they lack empathy for the human condition, so are unconcerned with your wellbeing whilst riding.

Hard to understand? If you spend some time living here you will see this happens all the time.. even to the extent you can see the same official the following day after refusal and you are rushed through.. Immi, hospitals, banks.... "anything" can happen..
He's right. Sometimes, they'll make up a rule right in your face And try to enforce it

From what I understand, they dont want it to appear as if your are living in Thailand. Spending a 1 year out of two in Thailand is living there.

A high percentage of the time, the seller's first price is three times what she will acceot for the item. Do you think she'd feel bad if you bought it at that price? Rather, she'd feel happy that she cheated you.
That being said, feel free to haggle as much as you want, but always keep it friendly. Your friend can hold his ground on the price he is willing to pay; and the seller can hold her price. That's bargaining.

In my condo, they seem to prefer balconies where the tenants are away. When they do come to my balcony, I scream loudly and go onto the deck and scream more as they fly away. It seems to deter them from coming back for a while.

All she needs to do is tell police you are the aggessor, and you'll be arrested, mistreated, thrown into a holding cell with a bunch of dangerous guys who the police have told that you like to beat Thai women. You will lose your job.
This is all if you are lucky. You could end up dead.

I had a similar problem in another Asian country with door slammers in the middle of the night. As I left my house at 6am, I was sure to make sure I woke them up as I left. Wake them when they sleep. Play I am too sexy for my clothes of the Barbie song over and over again.

You know what Ol' Soi Stalker always says: "Never have a relationship with a Thai woman that lasts for more than 45 minutes."

She is asking If You will give her money anytime she asks for it for her, her family, brother me, motorbike, motherbike mama, beach parties where you pay for 20 family and friends who will not say thank you and proceed to eat like they will not eat in three more days. Water buffalo sick mak mak, et cetera.
In return, you get sex; maybe housework done occasionally in an extremely unhygenic manner, and you get to watch her sleep like a cat in the daytime, watch Thai dramas, eat every two hours, and look at her smartphone, which will buy the most expensive one she can get you to buy her.

Is it necessary to your thread that we know you are gay?

I think the danger in helping is that other Thai men will decide they can start to attack you. It's like when there is a dog fight, other dogs will reflexively attack.

Be prepared to get pulled out of the immigration line and taken to the back room, as was the case when this happened to me a few years ago at Suvarnbahumi. Be polite, smile, give an excuse, wai, and you will be sent on your way rather quickly with no fine.

No taxi driver does or is expected to take your bags across the lobby and put it into the lift. If your leg is broken and you politely request for help, Thais are very considerate and friendly, will gladly do it. Then you can give him a tip with smiles all around. But if you behave as if you are a superior human by virtue of being born a farang & expect them to be subserviant, they know how to bring you down to reality.
Oh, yes....I am a superior human by virtue of the pins in my ankle. The wincing he heard as i got into, and struggled to get out of, his taxi was my superiority, obviously. Most decent humans would have helped me up four stairs to the
lift. That little bit of humanity would have cost twenty seconds. And it was a taxi service, not a taxi company. I should have asked for help from someone too lazy to help? No.

When are you expected to tip in Thailand? And is this because Thais tip in these situations as well or are you expected to tip because you are a farang?
I recently used a taxi service to get from the airport to my condo. The taxi driver kept talking about himself and smiling. I got the feeling he was trying to angle for a tip. When we got to the condo, he puts the two big bags on the concrete. I am in a walking boot cast as my leg is hurt. I paid him, but no tip. He looks at the money, then gets an angry look on his face, get into the car and drives off without looking at me or saying anything, leaving me to drag the bags up the stairs. If he had carried or helped to carry the bags to the elevator, I would have given him a tip. I didn't get how he expected a tip for not helping with the bags.

Jomtien Immigration

Does this mean if one arrives in jomtien on a friday evening, that going to immigration in the morning on Saturday is madatory in order to avoid a large penalty for not filing a TM30?
