  1. Don't think I'll believe any HP claims until they start to hit independ dyno's.

I can't see too many people selling their 250 to upgrade to the 286. What it will probably do is convince more people that were considering either CBR150 or the Ninja 300 to buy it.

  2. All this modern technology, everyone with cameras and social sites connected 24/7.... it really is all nasty stuff portraying Thailand as something other than the beautiful, Zen Buddhist nation that Thailand is.

Nasty sites such youtube, facebook, etc. such be banned (again, remember that youtube was banned up until 2-3 years ago) for tarnishing Thailand's reputation.

  3. To be fair, it's little wonder that driving habits are so bad, 95% of the population are 2nd generation rice farmers.

2 generations ago they had nothing but buffalo and cart, now they can get big powerful pick-ups on credit and take to the road without any sort of knowledge or sense of what is going on.

This guy will be sacked, then when the story is forgotten in a week's time either hired by the same company or some other that want a stooge to drive their clapped out intercity bus 30 days a month for 6,000b. Getting around the minimum wage by offering sleeping quarters next to the engine.

  4. So it's going to be a CBR286. It would be cooler if they actually gave these new bikes their correct name.

If the 4hp increase is at the rear wheel, while also losing some weight then it is a nice little update. Especially if there isn't a big jump in price. If 130k they should sell well. :)

  5. I'm having a wonderful night.

The inlaws and friends are down for one of the family coming out of the monkhood and we've a houseful but all the blokes are in my den having a crafty drink watching Spurs battering Villa....

    1-0 at HT (to Spurs)

So wonderful you're sitting at the computer talking to us, while all that is going on. Must be great.

  6. "

Personally, I'd be rather stunned if it turned out that any of the countries where I am a citizen exposes Thais to wrongful actions simply because Thai immigration laws are less than favourable. I am actually quite confident there's no such thing as a discussion like "now they treat us bad, we're going to treat them the same way. That'll teach them!""

This is standard practice in many countries. Fees are reciprocated.

The UK has huge immigration fees, and as a result I am subject to huge fees when I go to other countries. I paid almost $1000 a year while in south America in work visa fees.

I don't see the problem, it seems fair to me? The aim is to make immigration between the two countries equal. If Thailand makes it difficult for country x citizens, country x makes it difficult for Thais.

Yes, a number of nationals get 90 days on arrival when arriving in Thailand instead of 30 because reciprocal visa arrangements.

  7. What do you have against Cambodians?

    Me? None.

But calling a Thai one in a verbal exchange is sure to get them, shall we say, a bit hot under the collar. biggrin.png

Hot under the collar? This kind one upmanship stategy does nothing but resulting in a round of tit for tat. Where does it end? Probably not very well.

Yes, that was the joke. rolleyes.gif

If the tit is reffering to a Thai as 'Mun' and then calling them 'Khon Kampucha' (Cambodian).

The tat is going to the closest thing to them hitting your head repeatedly until you are dead. :D

  8. I'm pretty sure you will inadvertently insult Thais from time to time and they will shrug it off because you obviously don't know better....

Absolutely, you see this on a daily basis in interactions betweens Thais and farangs.

Fortunately the Thais have the common sense and inner logic to let it roll smoothly. smile.png

It would be a very ugly country if Thais got upset at every farang that did something culturally insensitive. Farangs usually don't bother learning anything about, or respecting what they do learn about Thai culture, they usually just shrug it off as something stupid as it is not how they were raised to do things so they're not going to do it here. Fortunately Thais understand the pigheaded nature and just laugh at the stupidity. smile.png

  9. Living the dream.

    Looks like a nightmare...

Yes, Ferraris, Lambourghinis, endless women at your beck and call, luxury penthouse condos in Thailand and Australia, never has to work again.

99% of farangs would jump at having what he has.

99% of farangs like to make an honest living.

I can't believe people look up to half wits like this guy.

There's a difference between looking up to and wanting what someone has.

99%+ farangs here would take what he has in a heartbeat if offered. wink.png

He also seems happier than most farangs here.

    Haters gonna hate, I suppose.
