On a slightly different tack, last year i changed a standard single entry visa to a retirement ( eventually ) . This has now run out, and I now have a Multiple entry visa to come back in December.
Does anyone know if this visa can also be changed for retirement extension ?

No you didn't.
You first obtained a Non O Visa by doing a conversion of Visa type.
You cannot get an extension direct from a TV.
Yes I did
i will I'll copy my passport later and send copies .
It it was a standard tourist visa , just took proof of money and chanoot for condo, they then issued retirement which started at the end date of the tourist visa .

I have to disagree with a number of posts on here.
i got retirement extension last march using a tourist visa, and i had checked this possibility with the Thai consulate in UK before i went to Thailand.
The tourist visa can be exchange etc once in Thailand. But of coirse you still need the money in a bank account etc etc.
you will, however, NOT be able to get retirement with a VE.

If you booked the whole trip at the same time and paid for all flights together, even with multiple airlines, then this is counted as a single trip, therefore any checked bags will automatically be transfered to the second flight at the stopover airport, and therefore you can go straight through the transfer gate without going through immigration.
however, if you booked a single direct flight to BKK, and then, at a later date , booked a second floght with a differant airline, when arriving at departure airport, they will only register the initial flight , and check bags onto that flight, you would then need to collect any checkin baggage on arrival at BKK, and therefore cannot avoid going through immigration.

I fly from the UK to Thailand, I have a 60 day tourist visa, I have a return flight 95 days after arrival. Therefore I obviously get a visa extension when here.
However, having done this before etc, I would just comment that at no time has any airline company asked if I have a visa for Thisland etc, and no one at any airport, either UK, Holland, France or Dubai ever checked my passport for a visa etc.
yet many people on here comment that you will be stopped at departing airports if you do not have a correct visa etc.

A VPN connection is not encrypted, the connection merely gives the user a false IP address which therefore hides their correct location. But any data they view, transmit or receive is not encrypted. This is the same for TOR. This not only gives a false IP address it hides the location of viewer under many false connections, but again, it does not encrypt any viewed sites etc.

I'm sure some has said thus but I can't be bothered to read all th usual negative comments.
I opened a bank account two months ago, go to Thailand, rent somewhere ( or even get fake rental agreement - which is what I did), go to Immigration and get a Residency Certificate ( 300bht) and then go to bank and open account . Mine is which Bangkok Bank . Some may not accept certificate, if not , go to a different bank. Job done.

The rate I got is from Travelex International Transfers, which I am guessing is different than standard TravelEx exchange rate
-
As far as am aware, there s no charge f you do not send.
Also, I got better rate than bank. Current rate is 48,20 as of now, which is same as bank. However, I would say that the service is better suited to larger amounts.
Can I know where you check the rate, because when I check on the Travelex site I get a rate that is "a little" different from the rate you get.

I have a foreign curreny transfers account wth Travelex, I send sterling to them. They hold it until I see the rate I want, then tell them to send, it is then sent direct to my Thaia bank at that agreed rate. I think they allow you up to 60 days to hold money until you agree send rate.

As of December there were over 90 Million unregistered SIM cards in use.
Does anybody here beleive that they will register more than a few million of those before the end of July?
And does anybody believe that they will just turn off the remaining 80 or so million SIM cards at the end of July?
Not going to happen. It would throw the whole of Asia into a turmoil and economic downward spiral.
I'm sure the majority of Thais will just take a wait & see attitude and this whole effort will grind to a halt.
Next they will be trying legislate that millions of free Wi-Fi spots register their users, as well, even though there are countless
numbers of open (non-passwrod protected) access points across the country, and there are 100's of thousands of
transient Wi-Fi users daily across the country.
Just not practical in a free & open society. After all Thailand is not yet a communist state under a vicious dictatorship, is it???
The report ACTUALLY said that there were 90 million sims in Thailand, but not ALL registered, this includes unregistered sims.
Therefore they will not need to delete 80 million + sims !
However, this is all a pointless excercise anyway, since many tourists are buying pre-paid sims and then ditching them them when they leave, so how will registering sims that are never to be used again going to help in way way whatsoever ?

Most airlines avoid Ukrane now, go north or south. You can get phone app - Flightradar 24, which shows ALL flight routes across globe, with live updates .

As said before - bottom line is - don't smuggle drugs in countries with dear penalty . No excuses. Everyone knows Indonesia's position on this.

At Don Meung, it is quicker to go across bridge/walkway to hotel across the road an hail a taxi there.
But last time I used the bus to Mo Chit and BTS as well, probably just as easy.
As for Phuket, I book in advance with Phuket Shuttle - 750bht to Patong - cheaper than current taxi rip offs !!!

I've seen this guy on numerous occasions, he has a wheel chair, and his friend brings him to Sukumvit in the wheel chair and drops him off behind Soi 7, then takes the wheelchair away so he can slide around for the evening, then he is picked up later and taken to another area.

Just a note on prices, I have bought iPads whilst in Thailand and they are cheaper there than in the UK. The iPhone 6 is also projected to be cheaper.

You can use Line on a PC, however, if you once you log in on the PC , then existing conversations on your smartphone may be deleted, and I believe, if you then log back in on the Smartphone, the conversation will disappear from the PC. If your not bothered about keeping earlier messages etc, then that is not a problem.

How can some one physically assault someone, for a third time, in public, and get effectively a slap on the wrist ? At the very least he should be thrown out of football altogether .

Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I cannot find anything that relates to it.
Since I wish to apply for a retirement visa, I have checked on the requirements etc.
Firstly, I believe I have to have 800,000 baht in a bank account for over two months. I understand that this needs to be in a Thai bank, can someone confirm this is true or can it be in a UK bank ? And if this is the case, how do I open a Thai bank account, since the banks I have visited all tell me that I cannot open one without a visa ( not a 30 day waiver ) and in some cases a resident certificate.
Secondly, there is mention of an income of 65000 baht per month, but is this not necessary if I have the 800,000 baht in an account.

Tried to send messages on Line today, from UK, all showing not read, so has it now gone down ?

Having sat down and read thru the complete OP, but not yet read all the replies, I would suggest that the questions asked are all completely irrelevant.
You have no intention of moving to Thailand and no intention of taking her to US, so you have no relationship and never will !!
