  1. Maybe look at your fare structure and service

4 years ago would not fly with any one else but Thai as it was non stop from Australia to Bkk

Now because of over priced flight and bad service

I put up with the stop over in KL or Singapore

They lost my family, how many other no longer prepared to waste money on this airline

They lost your family? I know tickets for a seat on THAI are stupidly expensive, but you shouldn't put valuables in your check-in luggage. I hope they turn up soon wai2.gif

  2. Why is there just moan and groan when the government comes up with a good idea to help tackle an important problem? I can think of a lot of tourists who would opt for those with guaranteed certificates and have peace of mind of getting reimbursed as claims are backed by government funds, not people who disappear. I see a lot of good things here and fully expect to get flamed for saying as much.

A "certificate" is usually a sign for me to avoid the place.

  3. Another quality farang tourist arrives. sad.png

I keep posting this comment, can I have it "pinned"...........clap2.gif

And the mystery deepens as to why Thais don't think of farangs as role models to emulate. Haven't finished this thread yet, but I'm sure someone will blame his behavior on Thais and Thailand.

The Thai girls would do anything to have smooth, white skin like that.

  4. Just done BKK to Dubai to LHR with Emirates. I found the cabin TOO COLD, as on previous journeys. And then wonder why they give all passengers a blanket. Turn the heat up a bit, and no blankets to carry = save money.

Jetstar does the same, but after everyone's BOUGHT a blanket, they crank the heat up.

  5. We applied for a first passport at Surat Thani last Tuesday, was sorted out and passport delivered to us via EMS by Saturday, so a 4 day turnaround. It was reasonably painless, we got there at about 7.30am and were ticket around #50 in the queue, but were out by 11.30 - looks like different offices are taking different amounts of time.

Obviously Surat Thani is a long way from Chiang Mai, but you could try one of the other offices.

Same same at Udon...less than 10 mins start to finish. Passport arrived in less than a week.
