I think it would increase risk of overdose and like you said it could contain contaminant if produced illegally. Since it's legal there is no reason to use it this way. Amphetamine and methamphetamine is prescribed as oral pills which is safer than the way user prefer using it illegaly: injection, snorting and smoking.

a lot of meth uses in the west inject it, guess they prefer the effect, doesnt seem to be the usual method in this part of the world and not something I would try

One of these days it just wont only be sites or threads going missing all the contents of these "wallets" will as well when you try to open it one morning

The biggest ponzi schemes imaginable and pray tell when it all goes missing who you gonna turn to.........

    Just a matter of time.....

its not as if banks and fiat currencies are going to always be there as well, in fact I would say security is one of the main reasons people are slowly moving to bitcoin

Amphetamine and Methamphetamine are already legal under prescription in the west. In my opinion prohibition cause more harm then good. Ever tried shooting alcohol? It would cause a lot of harm too.

thats another good point, in fact a large amount of children are prescribed it. I dont shoot anything and arent too knowledgable about it, but as far as I know its probably not really an issue if you dont overdose and its not cut with something toxic.

I'm generally very supportive of drug decriminalistation, following the good results of the Spanish model. But meth is a nasty drug that doesn't only cause problems for the user, but also for the family of the user and other people who happen to get in the way.

to answer yours and other replies, its a health issue, not a moral issue. yes it does cause a lot of problems, its probably a major cause of theft and muggings. I would feel safer if the stuff was given away free. I believe thailand is thinking of legalizing it because they dont have the prison space, and its common worldwide so criminalizing it obviously isnt a working method to try and stop people using it, and as you mention, the spanish (or maybe it was portuguese) model, and legalizing weed in the US, seems to be reducing use. theres no reason to think it wouldnt be the same with other drugs

If you really want to invest in cryptocurrency, read up plenty about security. In other words, how to protect your funds. There is simply so many areas where users have lost their funds.
    - Leaving money on exchanges which then get hacked
    - Using a wallet that gets attacked
    - Following instructional videos on claiming free tokens and end up giving up their private keys
    - Falling for twitter scams

thats true, but the strength of crypro, or btc anyway, is that once you have it secure its more secure than banks or gold will ever be which is one of the main reasons to invest in it IMO

    Learn to haggle better.

I met a really nice girl in a Phnom Penh bar last April, attractive, 30 years old, good English, ready to move right in. If I didn't have a gf and kids back in Thailand, it would have been game on. Just like Thailand used to be.

I would be careful. they are desperate people, much more so then the Thais even if they are less violent. as long as she takes the boyfriend money and sleeps with him a day a week they are very happy to move in with you and pretend that they are visiting family once a week. every now and again the boyfriend might be jealous so she has to go visit a friend thats just had a motorbike accident and is in hospital for half the night. if you cant get the girl out of cambodia, and you cant, its because they have a boyfriend

Best way. Baht cost average in and hodl. If you are going to trade, then only with a little fun money.

What is your prediction for the halving in May? Could be April as block times are on average quite a bit under 10 minutes recently.

    Here goes just for fun.

    1. End of 2019 new high between $20k-$30k.

    2. Run up to the halving, maybe bounce around in between end of 2019 price.

    3. Halving event. Probably not much different.

    4. Two to three months after halving $50k - $75k

    5. End of 2020. Hit's around $100k then does another whopper correction to $30k ????

I dont think much will happen for a while yet. halving maybe about 10000, nothing seems to happen around halving, next rally wont begin till the end of 2020 start 2021, or even latter, then up to 200-300 k with a correction to 50000. this guy I find interesting https://medium.com/unconfiscatable/bitcoins-power-oscillator-64875128c56f

good time to buy anyway, could go lower but I dont think will ever go below 6500 again. I just hold, I havent found a trading strategy that would work, altho Im sure its possible if you have the computing power, programming knowledge, statisical knowledge and time, and want to risk using an exchange. I think its a great store of value tho in the sense that its more secure then any other investment, which also means that the price will go up as more people realize that. gold is huge but bitcoin is actually superior. the fact that its the best form of currency at this stage of history is just an added bonus

Anecdotal, of course, but my experience of private medicine in Manila was very good. I had eye surgery at Bangkok Hospital about 10 years ago, and the service I had at St Luke's in Bonifacio Global City for a heart issue a couple of years ago was every bit as professional and the facilities as modern. Although out-patient, I had an extensive battery of tests, saw more than a few specialist, they diagnosed the problem in a matter of days, and the bill came to around $300.

Mall clinics tend to be dispiriting places with long queues, however the treatment I have had in them has always been of a high professional standard.

One area Philippines definitely falls down on, in my opinion, is dental clinics. They are much more expensive than Thai clinics, hence I go to Bangkok for dental work.

I realize the topic is Philippines but its been mentioned many times in the thread that Cambodia has poor medical care yet I have friend who coincidentally also had eye surgery and was happier with the treatment in Cambodia then Thailand. I think the idea that Thailand has better health care might be overrated, altho probably true as a generalization.

So what is thailand gaining exactly  from discouraging foreigners to longer stay or very frequently visiting?

How is that beneficial for locals and especially for local shops owners and employees?

its a dictatorship. they want to try and limit outside ideas influencing their people
