  1. Yes, injectable testosterone is OTC in Thailand as are some other injectable meds so logically needles and syringes too. HOWEVER I have heard of pharmacies raising eyebrows/refusing to sell just needles/syringes to foreigners, I think because of stereotypes equating farangs with drug abusers. Should not be a problem if purchased along with the testosterone but if you go in asking only for the needles and they act skittish, this is why.

Need to carefully note the exact testosterone preparation you are on. The injectable T brands here are:

Testoviron Depo and Depo-Test 250= Testosterone enanthate

Testosterone Propionate March = testosterone propionate

    Nebido = Testosterone undecanoate

Test-Comp 250 = mix of Testosterone propionate, testosterone phenylpropionate , testosterone isocaproate and testosterone decanoate

Cypionex and testolic = Testosterone cypionate

For sourcing in CM area suggest Fascinos' Pharmacy and be sure to join their member club as after purchasing a certain amount you'll get discount on the next purchase.

I am on Nebido ( a dose every 3 months after blood test level) the testosterone supplement was prescribed by my doctor outside Thailand, i always take two doses with me when i travel, just in case; if for example i go to a hospital in Bangkok and ask them to inject me; will they do it?

  2. Sinsod or dowry has never exist in the old Thai tradition, it has been created not long ago; with so many history about the supposed payment to the mother's milk. it is becoming like a must now for mainly farangs and other foreigners who marry Thai ladies. If in case you are compelled to comply; you must know at least that for marrying divorcees and widows it is not applicable.

  3. Sadly Thailand is not as exotic as it once was. The environment has been degraded terribly and the quality of beaches is terrible thanks to unchecked and rampant tourism development. Bangkok offers some nice attractions but is overcrowded, hot and polluted. Hotel prices are capping 100-200 dollars a night now. Many things tourists may desire such as clean air, beaches, good wine - are all now unavailable in Thailand but are freely available in countries others may consider closer to home or more affordable. Add in a coup, bad press, high profile deaths, corrupt police... well... TAT and Thailand really need a reality check and this could be a good catalyst which after a crash may prompt a rethink.

I fully agree about the wine ! Its a drama in thailand where you get good food but bad wine or wine service, some restaurants sell cheap quality wine, when you bring your own they charge you of a heavy corkage whereas as some restaurants does not serve wine at all but they still charge for corkage when you bring your own, to get a corkscrew in these same restaurants for opening your wine bottle is another issue...

  4. ...what is his crime....

    ...what jurisdiction....

...only him and not the supplier....???

He is a Russian selling dope in Russia, so obviously his case is governed by Russian law. The Thai supplier selling to him in Thailand, has not committed any crimes, as his sales are legal under Thai law.

Its they money he is getting which is of interest to the Russian Authority not the drug itself ! They dont care about his side effects anyway!

  5. Tourist are coming, but only for a couple days. Then they are heading to Myanmar (I'm there now), Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam. I will go back to Bangkok for 2 days and head to Cambodia.....Getting tired of this country.

Yes, Thailand is losing it's luster to the quality $$ tourist.

But the new arrivals will come.....at a slower pace.

Yes i have seen this also, unfortunately for Thailand, many countries neighbouring Thailand are becoming attractive offering nice sights, temples, exotic food and smiles

  6. It's is now high season but where are the tourists? Has Thailand finally killed the golden goose with the problems this year, Koh Tao, Political issues, curfews, removal of beach chairs etc etc etc? This definitely looks that way, at least this season. Beaches aren't anymore busy than a normal low season, streets certain aren't packed with crowds, bars that use to have 30 odd people in them now have 5-10, shops are saying they don't have customers, so their stock increases for the high season are now sitting in back rooms.

This may be different in various parts of the country, however this is not just an observation, this is what is also being talked about with other business owners. I personally know of 16 bars that are closing down this month around Bangla. I also know 3 hotel owners that are closing and 9 shop owners that are closing their doors. This is just in Patong and certainly shouldn't be happing in high season where the most money is generally made.

A few friends of mine who normally come here yearly as well as a number of customers are heading to Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Bali this time because they are all tired of the scams and problems here and have all said it is now getting too expensive compared to other destinations.

Is this happening across the country or is it just here? In 9 years i have never seen it like this.

Its true, i have seen the same thing, to my opinion is that each leader at the head of this country bring its lot to what degree of positiveness? or what degree of negativeness ? We will never have the right middle !Thaksin is a buisiness person; so is Yinluck. They have acted accordingly ! Prayut is a military...
  7. Being fed up listening on TVF about Thais being racists towards farangs, I decided to write about this personal event that happened to me.

I live in Bhan Pai, a sub district of Khon Kaen, with approximately 200,000 inhabitants.

Last night, Sunday, I went with the wife out for dinner and as we passed the Bhan Pai high school, we noticed that all the trees and bushes, were decorated with beautiful Christmas lights and there was an event with young people playing music and singing on a stage constructed on the side of the road.

So, parked the car and went there to see what is all about.

The street was full of food vendors selling all kinds of yameee, stuff and also other vendors selling the usual silly things, like key rings, covers for mobiles hats, etc. etc.

Being greedy with food, started buying all kinds of food available, so with the hands full of plastic bags we arrived to the stage I mentioned before where they had chairs and little tables for everybody to sit down and enjoy their meal while listening to the music.

While eating, a Thai man approaches us and started asking the usual questions.

Where you from? Where you live? How long have you been in Thailand?

I was polite with him, impressed that he can speak English so I had a small conversation with him, expressing my satisfaction of being and living in Thailand.

We kept listening to the performance of different groups of young kids, some of them good some not so good.

Anyway, 15 minutes later the music stops and the man that I was speaking to, came on the stage with another 7 people and started giving a speech.

Then we understood that he was the Mayor of Bhan Pai.

At one point of his speech he started mentioning the farang that is amongst us tonight and how much appreciated the help and support Bhan Pai gets from the farangs living there.

He got an applause from the audience and I was asked to get up, so I did and waied to them.

After the end of his speech we had a lot of people come to us and try to start a conversation in Thai or English.

I felt really nice and I started thinking where is all that racism I hear all about, on TVF, in Thailand?

That was my personal experience and I wanted to share with you.

Sorry the racism is not only between Thais towards farang but also Thai towards neighbouring countries like Myanmar or Cambodge or Laos etc...even between the Bangkok and the East.
  8. Pfffftt what appeal ?!!! It was just curiosity nothing attractive anyway ! I like thai girls very much but not in the way of a meat market!!! The horrible sight is when they grabbing on the falang neck thinking that nobody else will bring them happiness beside!

  9. Spaniel; you are missing the best trick. If you are married to a Thai National you can accompany her to the Thai immigration channel and you will pass through without any problems. Just another little bonus of marrying a Thai girl.

Not sure that always works. When we were departing I tried to go with her to have our passports stamped out but I was told I had to go to the foreigners line. Next time we leave the country I'll give it a try on the return.

Yes it does not work all the time ! Unfortunately ! You even feel himiliated when you are rejected in such a way that you dont want to start again.
  10. Last week my wife and I returned to Bangkok (Suvanaphumi) from a trip abroad. She went to the Thai passport holder line and I was at the end of the extremely long line for "other" passport holders. I kept getting shifted to the right side of the arrival hall and as I made my way up to the counter I noticed a sign that said something like, "this line for seniors over 70 and families" or something like that. Anyway my message is when you enter the arrival hall, and if you're over 70, procede all the way to the right, and between the Thai passport holders area and the "other" passport holders you will find the express line for those over 70. I'll give that line a try on my next trip through the airport.

    Thanks ! Good to know

  11. Definitely i would : IF -

    - Thai people look at me as a Thai

    - That i am granted citizenship of Thailand on the ground that my wife is Thai

But unfortunately The difference in Thailand is not against the farangs only but against neighbourhood nationalities like the Laotian, Cambogian, burmese, vietnamese, Chinese, Malay etc... Even these people i mentionned form part of the Thai nation.

So how can this be true

  12. I have never been ripped off, scammed, robbed had a motorbike accident or any real problems in Thailand. I think it comes down to ones behaviour, attitude and who they associate with. I understand that there is obvious corruption etc here, however there is in every country. I would much rather be here in Thailand say for example where you know it happens and who does it than in Australia where the Government rip everyone off behind their backs but the population just accept it. I have lost more money in Australia than I ever have in Thailand. Right now the Government in Australia are holding $120000 of my money which I am still trying to get. Then there is all the taxes and high cost of living. Stuff that, I'm never going back to that s$%t hole again.

What has not happened during 100 years can happen in a day

  13. Can you work with a marriage visa? Can you get your citizenship? Can you buy a piece of land in your name? Can you buy a car in your name? Can you create a self-employed company?

Yes, yes, maybe, yes, yes. I'm an American living in Thailand long term.

You must be the rare lucky one ! Some foreigners, i know has got married to a Thai, got children spent their whole life are still there on a visa. In Australia for example of you have a child study there, you are eligible for a PR and later citizenship.

  14. Thanks for several good replies.

    @ZAKY

What is a "multiple"? I have assumed that a one year visa is always multiple entry? Should I specify that my retirement visa should be multiple entry?

What is the 90 days immigration check? What do they check then?

You cannot apply for a multiple entry extension. After you get your extension you can get a re-entry permit that can be a single re-entry permit (1000 baht) or a multiple (3800 baht).

You have plenty of time to open your bank account. You first be applying for a change of visa status to obtain a 90 day non immigrant visa entry. The money just has to be in the bank on the date you apply for it.

Then 60 days after you get the visa entry you can apply for your extension. At that time your money will need to be in the bank for 60 days.

Just try a few more banks to get your account opened.

You mentioned Bangkok Bank suggested a reference. They offer the option of getting a document signed by your embassy also. Perhaps you could get it signed by the Swedish honorary consulate in Chiang Mai. Download http://www.bangkokbank.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/Bangkok%20Bank/Personal%20Banking/Foreign%20Customers/Certified_Letter.pdf There are other options mentioned here: http://www.bangkokbank.com/BangkokBank/PersonalBanking/SpecialServices/ForeignCustomers/Pages/Openinganaccountnew.aspx

Im surprised that you dont know if you can apply for a multiple entries visa throught the year.
  15. Catholisist. Look it up.

Not a term I've heard. The haters usually call us papists...
Not in common usage. Over that last 30 years I have read a huge amount of religious texts and have only encountered it perhaps 10-12 times.
See, I'm a real catholic. Don't go to church very much and leave theology to the theologians ;)

You are right ! Religion is the biggest killer

  16. Good on these guys you live in Australia follow our law, our leave .

One of then wants a return to a white Australia policy. Do you?

Whilst I understand your feelings samran, you are confusing the message with the messengers. These guys are probably total dix, but what they are saying, in this instance, is correct. The same rules of facial coverings should apply to all.

When I saw this on the news the security officer seemed to be allowing the guy with the burka to proceed inside, but not allowing the head coverings of the other two. Politically correct, or just plain stupid?

The best solution is to make the burka a fashion so that all women in the world whether muslim or not be compelled to wear it. ID photos and passports photos of women with their burka on should be allowed. Shower, swimming, dancing and drinking in a bar with burka should also be allowed.
