There is nothing simpler than getting the state pension paid four weekly directly into a Thai bank account. The exchange rate is very reasonable, around the mid market rate and there is only a very small charge for that service.

The DWP will only pay pensions into an account in the claimant's name unless there is a very good reason for using an alternative.

I get zero interest on my UK bank account, so even the miserly rate I get here in Thailand beats that!

The chances of a pension from the UK attracting any tax payments here in Thailand are, IMO just about zero, so forget it.

they pay my state pension into my wife's bank account in the UK

I just checked mine, and it says 35psi front, half and maximum load, and rear 35 HL and 41 ML.

When I put 34psi front and rear, with the new cabin mounts and ball joints, it dances too much to my likening. The 34psi was fine before the renovation of my 14 year old truck, so maybe I'm a bit too sensitive and need to get used to it?

Still leaves the question, where those 65 - 80psi numbers on those foreign websites come from, and how that could be considered drivable?

have you had tracking checked, since the new ball joints

This is interesting. Next year my extension is due in February but my passport expires in October. Does this mean I need the new passport before the February extension, or just be sure to apply for a further extension before October, assuming I get the new passport after February.

either get a new passport before feb, or use old one and get extension to oct only. then with new passport obtain fresh year extension in oct

It will mean it the same I presume the foreigner will be the one who has to put the 400K in the bank, but I'm still skeptical that this new law will include foreigners.

at the present time is only male foreigners married to a Thai female, that has to meet financial requirements, so who under the new same sex marriages will need to meet the financial requirements, foreign female married to Thai female, or foreign male married to Thai male

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT

THINK, does your new PP NUMBER match with the information on your extension of stay PERMISSION?  If not in theory you COULD be here illegally.

I would think since you entered on a ""new"' passport, the old passport is invalid - unless you have dual citizenship AND dual passports. The OLD PP is invalid if the corner is clipped - if so transfer the extension stamps to new PP - usually no cost at immigration to transfer and update PP and extension information.

    ADDL EDIT

Some offices require a NEW TM-30, EVEN if returning to SAME address IF you leave the country.

what a load of rubbish about being here illegally

No one has talked about the remittance tax that has put in place this year. If I were to bring in 400K to meet the 1.2 million  or 700K to meet 1.5 million in addition to my living expenses I could possible be hit with a much higher tax rate in Thailand.

I don't have a lot keeping me in Thailand other than I like it here. If I have to pay a 25% tax on 700K to meet new retirement visa requirements I think I would leave.

what new retirement visa regulations, all such talk is just scaremongering

I installed the panels last week with a company called PONIX, everything seems to work, they said they'd handle the permit with PEA but I haven't heard back, do you know how long does it take? is my electricity export being already accounted for? I already have a digital meter. I know there is a code you can push to read the amount of energy exported, not sure which code that is though, any expert?

is your invertor showing any feed in. image.png.4201dbb0d248bc23514285cda44c4cf6.png

op if you can not season the required 400,000thb then you could apply for a  60 day visit Thai wife extension, if you have not already done since your last entry, excluding re-entry permit entry

    sorry should be 800,000thb

If my marriage extension is valid up until 10 August & my 400K will have been in my a/c for just over 2 months am I able to submit my renewal application on the 09 August and then request a 30 day extension whilst it is being approved ??

when you apply for renewal on the 9th they will automatically give you a 30 day under consideration stamp, so you would be ok to stay, but when you receive the yearly extension it will start from 11th Aug
