This of course assumes that those individuals with income outside of pensions etc, have declared this to HMRC, and will therefore show on their total income and tax document on UK govt website.
the snag i see with that is UK tax year is April to April, with P60 being issued end of May, and do state pension issue a P60 for people only receiving state pension, as no tax is paid by the majority

Indeed. If I buy a BigMac, and charge it to my credit card, this is the bank's money paying for my lunch. Same as if I borrowed money from my bank to buy a condo in Thailand. The money actually being remitted into Thailand is certainly not income -- it's a loan, with how it's to be paid back stipulated in the contract -- whether we're talking hamburgers or condos. For my credit card, once a month my bank debits my checking account to pay off the credit card bill. Money moves from one side of my bank to the other. It's not a cash flow with any income aspects to the IRS -- and certainly no income aspect to Thailand. I don't see any grey area the somehow could make credit card charges some kind of remitted income...
would that be the same as cash taken from an ATM in Thailand using overseas credit card

Ah, that explains it...
BTW - as you work overseas - you know you can get a second passport ??... this eradicates the issue you are facing with working overseas, but needing to renew a passport but not having a great deal of time to do so while still needing your passport for travel.
To your specific question:
Passport renewal in Bangkok is still have VFS at the Trendy Building, on Sukhimvit Soi 13 (Bangkok).
You'll need to email VFS and book an appointment.
they have moved , new address is in an earlier post

I am considering using my UK credit card for most purchases and no longer bringing any money at all into Thailand. They can't tax nothing. Of course there will be bank charges, but they would be gradual and I doubt they would come close to the Thai tax I would have to pay.
would still be income

It's already too late for this, Thailand is like the worst in the world, as all numbers and names in database basically have been leaked. So unless changing to a new number, they keep calling it again and again, as no enforcement for illegal phone call sales / advertising here too. Even with a new number, you likely use a old number of someone else.
I get at least 4-5 of these calls a day sometimes, it is just that bad, I basically never answer my phone. Same with SMS messages. Easy hack: just turn off your sim card for calls etc and only use it for the data.
Also when losing your phone or whatever, you better be fast, to get a new sim card under your own number, or they already gave it to a new customer, even these numbers are nowadays often linked with 2FA! There is barely any cooldown period!
so you are saying that if you lose the phone they could allocate that lost phone's sim card number to someone else before you have a chance to obtain a new sim,
what a load of crock, the lost sim number will be valid for as long as you have prepaid for its use up to 1 year if payg.

No offense...however from your OP to this reply clearly you have very limited knowledge of options.
After all these years in Thailand that's surprising.
Obtaining a 60 day extension to visit wife is legit and well known.
If your agent has not suggested that then change agents
only one 60 day wife extension allowed per entry, excluding re-entry permit re-entry, need to check if the one only has been used

does your office date the 30 days from date of application or date of expiry, ie apply on july 30th collect 30 days later august 28/29

When the finance company holds your book you pay them, they pay the tax, and then they send you a copy of the relevant page showing the paid tax. You better check your socket to make sure it's not fake (if you only showed a copy of the book...)
rubbish, you need to tell my LTO they are doing vehicle tax renewal incorrect, as you seem to know better than them.
what is a socket
you think LTO are issuing a fake disc

You can't do it with a copy of the green book. Has to be the original as the details of the tax payment is registered in the book.
of course you can, just done mine, and lots of people on finance don't have the blue/green books, they are kept by the finance company, please don't post info that is incorrect

Thanks for that, Steve. I've made an appointment which is about a month before the existing extension expires and will have the funds in the bank well in time. Hope this works out okay - The marriage extension documents weren't too much of a hassle (getting both my children to smile simultaneously for the family pics was the tricky part) but I'd be pleased to do something simpler for a change.
I do a married extension, but its a small office so once everything is in order, its only 15 minutes or so from walking in without an appointment

only a non immigrant 'O''A' visa requires insurance for a 'retirement' yearly extension, you will need to either have 800,000thb for 2 months in a bank account in your name only, or prove income by embassy statement or bank deposits of 65,000thb monthly, the new 'retirement' extension will start from the date of application, not the date of expiry of the 'marriage' extension, they may/will require your wife to attend and may require a updated kor ror 2, to prove you are still married ( to comply with conditions of current 'married' extension)
