Sounds more to me like he doesn’t want it because that’s where the bloody virus came from.
Another racist sentiment? Or just placist?
And surely the source location would be the very best place in which to a vaccine?

I certainly hope no TV members were injured in the stampede to post their usual, predictable negative comments. No it is just the rest of us (the sane ones) who get the breath crushed out of us. The death toll probably also explains why some posters here think we no longer exist in large numbers!

Everyone I know in Pattaya is still here, too.
Same here, and that includes my contacts in other cities too.
Just visit Jomtien (or I guess any similar) IO to get some measure of the still flourishing ‘foreign community’ here.

Thailand has already lost most of his western expats and retired folks
with the strong baht, the insurance requirment and others nice ideas
so yes why not lose the last few still here with another requirment, it makes perfect sense
Not really, as there are plenty of us still hiding away here.

If it is the Chinese version, no thanks. I would rather be deported!
Could we please set up a separate part of TVF for the knee-jerk sinophobes to play in?

Pattaya is at/below sea level
Sorry, I must have misread the above! Why is the word “below” used?

Not much of it is at sea level. Where does it go below?

Apparently the Pattaya authorities are not acquainted with the concepts.
Nah! It is just that the local geomorphology cannot read (or has no internet access).

I would hope this gives you enough information to show that China is almost assuredly ground zero for the start of Covid-19.
Well keep hoping then. It does nothing of the kind!

After qualifying for the full state pension in 2010 and then qualifying again in 2015, and having now paid 40 years + I just need another 6 years contributions to get the full new state pension ????
This all sounds most peculiar! So do you mean that you could have started your “full state pension” (or deferred it) in 2010, but you did not do so? Or does “qualifying for” mean something different?

Without the trained staff available . . .
You seem very knowledgable in this area. It would be useful if you could explain this subject area in more detail, or post a link to a source of information about these aspects of running such facilities here.

For around $2000 a month, you get what appears to be excellent facilities/care. Maybe more if you're truly bedbound. A vet friend of mine recently was admitted to a small nursing home in Udon.....not the best care/facility in the world, but 24 hour care for around 15,000 baht per month.
$2000/m is an enormous sum for most of us! Even $500/m could be difficult.

As it is written
Good idea, but sadly meaningless!
One cannot “pronounce as it is written’ since written English gives little guidance on pronunciation.
So ask once again: how do you, personally yourself alone, pronounce the following?
minute
brass
route
Bumrungrad
(My naughty screen reader started that last off with a slang word for my posterior and finished with a short-form word for a postgraduate (student). But I use neither of those pronunciations.)

Not really. But it is only those variants that spread a lot better that get established and hence discovered.
