@McFish I'd never heard of this keto diet before but after your posts I've been researching it and I'm starting the keto diet tomorrow. Did a big shop at TOPS today. I'm in early 50's and 25-30kg overweight. I've always kept reasonably fit and usually eat a pretty healthy diet but put on this extra weight slowly from about 30 and never been able to shift it. Just maybe this lo-carb hi-fat diet will work for me.

You have got to treat it all as a lifestyle change. I would throw the scales away and get out of the idea of being on a diet. If it's too boring and feels restrictive you won't keep it up. You've already made a great start and the benefits are already showing. Give yourself a day off once a week to eat what you want.
I'd try to mix things up a bit. Weight training has as many benefits as aerobic training, including muscle and bone strength and mental functioning. I can't stomach steamed veggies but I love some Indian recipes using chickpeas, lentils, curries, dahl, etc. - go well with your brown rice.

Well after watching Video 2,  I can only conclude that I wouldn't want some of you on my jury. Most of you would know Thailand has one of the worst road death tolls in the world, only beaten by a couple of war-torn African countries I think. Keep safe.

What about 'falling in love'? I'd add 'integrity' to your list. I think you realise you have a big learning curve. I'd spend a year or two in Thailand first before making any big commitments. And I'd stay away from TV for advice, unless you want to rapidly become bitter and twisted.

I have a question on the 2 year rule for pension portability. If I work in Australia for the final 2 years before hitting retirement/pension age (67 for me), do I qualify for portability straight away?

In Victoria, Australia, where MJ is still illegal but rarely prosecuted for personal use, we have had on-the-spot saliva drug driving tests since 2004. Unlike the quick alcohol breathaliser test, the saliva drug test takes more than 5 minutes to complete. And its relatively expensive. There have been quite a few cases that have successfully challenged the results in court. The tests have a reputation for being a bit dodgy (unreliable). Maybe that is why few other countries have taken up these tests. I think they now test for amphetamines as well as THC. I still do not know anyone personally who has had a test, although I have mostly lived outside the city. If you test positive only traffic infringements apply. It is interesting that you only get 10 demerit points, the same as a minor drink driving offence (0.05-0.10%), and a AUD$330 fine, so maybe the authorities agree that stoners are better drivers than drunks. (Once you get 12 points in a 3 year period you will lose your licence.)
