  1. sadly, thailand doesn't have much oil and gas, it's not a middle east, so maybe it's about democracy and human rights? The west can live without thailand, it's bananas and papaya, and production of hard drives can be moved anywhere else in asia. Thailand can't live without foreign tourists, rice and agricultural products export.

but no, we will fight our position in global capitalism with more jingoistic nationalistic propaganda and posturing, how great and rich our glorious country is. And thai diplomacy with getting palls with chinese and cambodian generals

But it is the Hub of Hubs.

  2. EU farang has no where to go to buy grade A quality sea food at a decent price.

Hence EU farang has to claw back to Thailand on their knees.

Why are you writing such vehement hatred in farang language?

You continue to disgust me with your hatred of non-Thais.

    What is your real problem?

He is just another bent farang with a hidden problem, pretending to be Thai, is as close as he can get to his full desire of being a real Thai lady-boy.

  3. The worry here is that the weapons seizures are becoming the major issue now in Thailand. Are we seeing the prelude to a western style (predominately America) gun seizure resulting in total disarnment of the population? Australia had the red flag event of the Port Arthur Massacre to ban weapons, and the USA have had many red flag incidents attempting to disarm their citizens. I certainly hope this is not the case here in Thailand, but if it is we have all been hoodwinked by the NWO. For now I will continue to support and believe the NCPO but will always have my reservations.

  4. Every thread "jet ski mafia blah blah blah". As if that is Pattaya's big problem.

Have you shares in a jet ski business? why don't you elaborate on what the big problem is, so we all correctly educated on the subject.

Human trafficking, drugs, mafia and gang violence, corruption and murder - your turn...uh uh uh... Shut up

Hate to burst your bubble but that happens all over Thailand. Jet Ski mafia are found only at a few spots and the major problem is predominantly Pattaya and Phuket so will always come under fire. Haven't seen any dodgy operators working the Chiang Mai old town canals have you.

  5. The grandparents are to old to work and there is no pension scheme to support them. Most worked on the family farm all their lives and there was never a superannuation plan. Thai are generally family orientated so the children go off to make money to help support their elderly parents and in return the grandparents take care of the grandchildren. Everyone scratching everyones back. Definitely not ideal but if there is no work in the regions what can they do.

Governments should try and encourage big businesses/manufacturing to set up in these regional areas to provide jobs that way more families would probably stay together. Invest in the countries future.

It is correct what you say but unfortunately that is changing , in my village the parents are now a lot younger who themselves only will work spasmodically when they are not stoned on ya ba or lao khow. What money they do earn, they use to support their habits like phones and drugs. Usually what happens is the Great grandparents who are far from capable, end up looking after the kids while grandparents work to try and support all, which at the end of the day their is only one result, disaster.

On top of this, we live in a rice farming community so things have gone from bad to worse.

Your last paragraph is I believe the answer, there is a lot of state land available, so with the right incentives offered by the government to manufacturing based business there would be a win win situation all round. Back it up with funded community education and involvement and slowly it can be turned around.

  6. Time to stop playing Mr goody two shoes General and start taking this scum of the streets. What is more important here, personal popularity or the law to be equal for all? Name, shame and heavily penalise all of them regardless, only then will the people start to learn and accept change. There is only one chance to get this right, so if the current Thai way of me first you second prevails, the country is doomed for an eternity. To falter is normal and temporary, to be a failure is unacceptable and permanent.

  7. Yikes - I had no idea - I regularly give these kids 20 Baht on the road next to Khaosan since I thought I was helping there families with the money - Gee I feel real bad now that I was actually aiding this trafficking...And also stupid that I did not think this situation through.

No, at worst, yours and others innocent donations probably saved the kids from a beating or worse, sold in to a pedophile ring.
