  1. I don't think that, you are just repeating what I already said. I already expressed my concern that by doing it somewhere else then the result may not get entered into a system that it has to be, so the test would not be registered and the authorities may come hunting you down. Providing the result though would surely keep them happy. They can't surely expect you to drive 3 hours to the nearest one on the list, the important thing is that it gets done and you can prove it. I'd like to avoid either scenario, hopefully they will add somewhere closer.
  2. Yes. The document here also says 5-7 https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1AnIVPwYeGs3l-rO25X1Wi9LLAbSbrSD0?usp=sharing&sort=13&direction=a At the moment though, the closest to me is 3 hrs drive so I'll probably end up paying for one at the local Kasemrad or similar, but I'll keep an eye on the list to see if new ones are added. Surely there will be at least one on Chiang Rai province !
  3. Well, the piece of paper you have to sign says Days 5-7, that is the reality on the ground. The first test is stated as Day 0-1 on that same piece of paper. I'd put a copy of it here except last time I did that someone said they could still see the .personal details I'd blocked out and I don't know how that was possible.
  4. Yes, hopefully that list will get updated. If not, then I'll have to pay to get it done locally. Only question is if the test would be logged into some system by the govt hospital that wouldn't happen at the private hospital. Still, if they came looking for you then you'd be able to produce the test. That is the other question around this - I wonder what the enforcement is ?
  5. At the airport (before the immigration desk) where they check all of your paperwork. And yes you have to sign a piece of paper agreeing that you will do the test and that it is a legal requirement.
  6. You would think, but they have given a specific list รายชื่อสถานพยาบาลเอกชนที่เข้าร่วมการตรวจหาเชื้อโควิดครั้งที่ 2 - Google Drive
  7. I've just arrived and they ask you to scan a QR code that links to a pdf of a big long list of hospitals. Not in every province - for example I saw none in Chiang Rai. Closest seems to a a 3 hr each way trip to Chiang Mai. Best to just pay to get it done locally. However I'm sure the list is expanding daily so I'll check it again in a few days.
  8. I've just checked in at Heathrow. They wanted to see absolutely everything - Thailand Pass, PCR test, vaccination certificate, hotel booking for test and go, and insurance certificate. A repeat of everything for the TP application itself. Anyway no issues, hopefully a smooth experience awaits at BKK too.
  9. Yes, exactly what I'm concerned about with hopping on a plane tomorrow, but there is no other viable mode of transport !
  10. As of yesterday at least, that isn't the case in the UK. New daily cases more than doubled initially, but then have held basically flat for the last 5 days. Will the next movement be up or down - hard to know. Hospital admissions are very low, so when percentage increases are quoted there it is from a low base. Anyway, Thailand suspending new applications is out of an abundance of caution, and allowing existing TP holders in is the honourable thing to do.
  11. The Thai legal firm that I use say that it is still up in the air about what will happen with existing approved TP holders beyond that they can still enter. More clarity on Friday apparently.
  12. I've been using Qatar. One of a handful of airlines that have kept flying during the whole Covid period, and who have had a very flexible date change and refund policy. Of course they don't have routes from every country.
  13. Yes, seems so at the moment, and also another good reason to get things done early and not wait until the last minute.
  14. It would create chaos to suddenly require everyone in the system to switch to a quarantine
  15. About 200,000 visitors who had previously registered for the quarantine waiver and sandbox programme will still be eligible, said government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana.
  16. What they could do very easily is just shorten the list of "low-risk" countries that qualify for the Test & Go scheme. The U.K. is surely at big risk of coming off that list ! The govt are meeting Friday is what I'm seeing. I'd love to know what time though ! in my case my plane arrives on Friday around midday, fingers crossed I don't land and only learn then that they've immediately implemented a change like that !
  17. I've seen reports of many ASQ hotels having very fast WIFI. Mine didn't even though advertised as "high speed". If it is important to anyone, they should check real-word reports, and yes have a backup.
  18. Agreed. If they announce the withdrawal of Test & Go, they should at least make it effective a week or so into the future - maybe 1 Jan - so that people have time to re-arrange their travel if necessary.
  19. I did mine a month in advance. No reason to wait if you have everything that is needed.
  20. I don't think so, I did this with AIS for 14 days last year in hotel quarantine (because the hotel wifi was hopeless)
  21. One youtuber says the CCSA meeting is on 24th this week. That is the day my flight arrives, I might be OK .
  22. Yes, I don't know. I think it might just be a rule or regulation implemented under over-arching legislation, so the change could be made immediately pretty much if so.
  23. Well, I'd guess that it will certainly be in place well before then. (and then potentially removed again before then!) I'm due to fly out Thursday this week. Can they act that fast ? Depends on how the Test & Go was passed into law originally, and what legal steps would be necessary to cancel it, as to how quickly they change could be made.
