First it’s 14 nights quarantine, then 7 nights and now 1 night, yet people are still not happy. The mind boggles.

The reason for the application being rejected is on a the application for the report.
Go on the reporting site (https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn90online/online/tm47/TM47Action.do?cmd=acceptTerm) and select check the status of of your report. Then enter the report reference number or your passport number, nationality and date of birth.
Then at bottom of the page you will see the a green banner with info about your report and then you can click the magnifying glass symbol to open it.
Thanks Joe, I already did this but they did not give a reason, there was an admin remarks box at the bottom but this was blank. I guess the IO processing the application was too lazy to type the reason for rejection, no surprises there.

Anyone experiencing their 90 days online reporting coming back as rejected ?
Im following the steps, 1st report done in person and now doing the 2nd, successfully applied on the 24th Sept 4 days before due date (28th) and received reference number, received email today (27th) as rejected with no reason for rejection.
Anyone else experiencing this ? What should I do ? Going in person is not an option for me.

Its highly likely that they will be going there quite soon, now that you have publicised it
So you think the BIB don’t know about it already ? Haha

They should go to Bamboo Beach Bar in Naklua, there was easily 100+ people in there on Friday night, place was rammed, standing room only.

Well they can’t blame it on the Thais who were sneaking onto the island with fake negative Covid test results, must blame the migrants.

Doesn't sound like a retirement extension. In your case they offered you a possible legit fix. I don't think there is anything like that for the OP's situation.
My case is exactly the same as the OP, both cases are about falling under the minimum fund requirement when applying for an extension of stay. The purpose of the extension of stay (wether this be for marriage or retirement) has no significance.
So I will offer my advice from my own experience, do not go below the required amount needed in the bank to apply for an extension of stay, no matter what the purpose of the extension of stay is.
My advice of course is only for Phuket, as others have mentioned it all depends on each immigration office.

Last year I fell below the 400K for just one day, the amount was very minimal (was something like 4,000 baht), they refused my extension on these grounds and gave me a 60 day family visiting extension. They politely handed the passport back with a smile suggesting I try again in another 60 days, and not go under 400K.
Overall experience: Brutal.

While I would prefer Thaksin to the current administration you have to ask the question.
Can Thailand really not find better leaders than this?
Yes they can, the Future Forward party guy (can’t remember his name) was the ideal candidate but he simply did not have the power to defeat the military junta.
Thaksin on the other hand may well be able to give them a good fight, but unfortunately there will be bloodshed on the streets in order for him to succeed.
The red shirts will be ready next time round, they won’t be such an easy push over as they were last time.

“By tracking the data from 2Q2020 to mid-2021 on buying motivation of either a holiday home or for investment purposes, we can see a change in behaviour.”
OK so these real estate agents now are so smart they can sense the emotions of each buyer. Amazing, not only are they experts in the real estate industry, they are also psychologists !! Haha

No mention in the article about domestic travellers who have recovered from Covid in the last 90 days.
I did see another article on one of the Sandbox Facebook threads that stated recovered covid travellers will need to show evidence of having recovered within the last 90 days, plus need a negative test result.
I’m on the understanding that a test on a recovered Covid patient will still return a positive result, based on the person still having inactive/dead virus cells ?

I keep pointing out one huge hole no one can answer..
When a Thai national tries to leave the sandbox, via road or sea, how can anyone determine if he is a local Thai national or a Sandbox arrival ?? A local Thai national need not carry any passport (hence immigration stamps) or must have any tracking apps. There is no way to determine this !! The same to a lesser extent for local expats and domestic non Thais, of course they can be demanded to have the passport but many travel without one. But telling a sandbox arrival from a domestic traveler, especially later on when this involves 10s of 1000s of arrivals has not been addressed in any way.
I mean they are not building a system based 100% on trusting Thai word are they ??
Every time I raise this in the various sandbox groups which are talking and planning with local government all I get is an 'err yeah.. good point'..The answer is very simple. First of all by law a Thai must always be in possession of a Thai ID card, so they may be asked to present theIr ID when arriving/departing Phuket by land however, it is very unlikely they will be stoped at all.
I personally know of 2 Thai people who have entered Phuket by land over the last week or so, one driving from Hua Hin and the other from Krabi, both were waved through by the border police and not even stopped.
So in short to your question, the border control staff at the land crossing will be turning a blind eye to Thais coming in & out, they will probably do the same with foreigners, they will just presume the foreigner has already done his 14 days stay.
As I have said before, this is all just a show, by August/September I expect all these conditions will probably be gone, or still be in place but not strictly enforced. Phuket just needs to show during the early stages that it’s serious about keeping the virus out.

Next, and I have said it already, the airlines will just pull the plug as they aren't about to lose a load more money on top of the colossal amounts already only for the Thais to change their minds at the last minute or bowing to the flip flopping of an Incompetent government.
Exactly, something I’ve also said myself before. To all the people who think the final say will come from the Thai government you are all wrong, the airlines will have the final say.
Whatever decision will been made by the Thai government, whatever is eventually confirmed on the Royal Gazette, if the airlines don’t like what they see they will not be putting flights on for you.
Anyone who has a flight booked start praying now your airline doesn’t pull the rug, instead of worrying about getting a beer on Bangla Road.

They are talking about the Samui addition to the scheme if not mistaken the Phuket opening still in play?? "yes /no
My initial thoughts were the same, but after reading the article again I’m not sure.
So we have a bunch of delegates from Surat Thani having a meeting about getting in on the Phuket Sandbox program, with the tourism minister informing the delegates to forget it as Phuket isn’t ready.
Not ready ? Phuket is not ready to open, or Phuket is not ready to share its visitors by agreeing a sealed route with Surat Thani ?
I seriously doubt the tourism minister would inform the governors of Surat Thani the Phuket sandbox program will not be going ahead, before he informs the governors of Phuket.
I reckon this is fake news, nothing more than a rumour, probably stirred up by the Surat Thani delegates after being disappointed at being told they have to wait.

It will not happen, Phuket is a big province with a population bigger than you think. There is more than enough workers currently waiting in Phuket, ready to service what will only be a hand full of tourists,
The arrival numbers will be so low it will barely make a difference to the unemployment rate in Phuket.

Does anyone have any update on the Suvarnabhumi airport to Hua Hin bus, is it currently running ? (Need to travel this week).
-
I reckon this story is completely false and over exaggerated. The real true/probable story goes as follows:
Left over Aussie tourist (who could not be bothered to get the covid extension visa) rented a car to visit his girlfriends place in Nakhon Sri Thammarat. Aussie guy gets pulled over and is found to be on overstay.
Manager/Thaivisa realise it’s been over a year since it has reported any kind of story that involves a farang on overstay, one who is involved in drugs, has some sort of fake ID and connections with prostitutes, mafia etc.
Manager/Thaivisa therefore decide to add this to the story to start one of those “hang him high” threads, the ones with comments like “enjoy your time in the Bangkok Hilton”.
I’m so exited at the prospect of seeing these stories again, please please please open Phuket on the 1st July !!

Too many its and buts. Like if there are flights? Can children come who are unvacinated? Will your country of original allow you to come without quarantine on return? Can you stay anywhere on Phuket or has it got to be the package tour?
Can you travel around Thailand after a set period? If/when there is outbreak of Covid on Phuket will there be a lockdown or then will you be stopped from travel around Thailand.. Will normal travel insurance be OK? Will places be staffed on Phuket?
The main question though if you manage to book a flight and fulfill Thailand's requirements for entry will it all be changed the day before you come?
OK here goes. Sorry no links to clarify answers. Most are guesses and based on opinions, if anyone can do any better with answering please go ahead.
Are there flights ? Yes.
Can children come who are unvaccinated ? No.
Will your country of original allow you to come without quarantine on return? Depends on which country.
Can you stay anywhere on Phuket or has it got to be the package tour? As the tourist is required to register on the Phuget website this should mean they can stay anywhere.
Can you travel around Thailand after a set period? Yes, last I heard it was 7 days, this could change.
If/when there is outbreak of Covid on Phuket will there be a lockdown or then will you be stopped from travel around Thailand ? The authorities do not anticipate there being an outbreak as the tourists will be vaccinated, on top of this they will also need to present evidence of a recent test. Phuket residents will also be 70% vaccinated. Will normal travel insurance be OK? Yes.
Will places be staffed on Phuket? Yes.The main question though if you manage to book a flight and fulfill Thailand's requirements for entry will it all be changed the day before you come? No, only exception being the registering on the Go Phuget website and the tracing app, when it was introduced in June last year for people entering Phuket domestically it was a complete farce, expect this to be scrapped.

If you have money in the bank you pay tax on interest, with a tax number you claim it back if the interest is less than 20k a year, simple really.
Yes correct, and the Thailand revenue department may also tax you on EVERYTHING that goes through your bank account, even if it’ is not income derived from working or doing business in Thailand.
Beware of anyone suggesting you to get a tax ID number for its benefits, as there are none.
Back on topic, if you’re a long term stayer on a Non immigrant visa, or an extension of such visa (for example married to a Thai) this should be enough to register for a vaccine.
If you are one of those left over tourists who have been on emergency covid relief visas for the past year, or an illegal volunteer visa issued in a province where you have never even visited, expect to have a problem and be prepared to pay for it.

...so we will end up with a situation in Pattaya where hundreds of thousands of vaccinated tourists who feel they are safe from the virus will be roaming freely....
I’m not one for correcting spelling mistakes, but I’m presuming you meant to say “hundreds or thousands” ????

Why would they not want to vaccinate foreigners?
Because it would be a sign of weakness from the government, treating a foreigner with the same regard as a Thai could have a problematic knock on effect.
Imagine it, foreigner gets treated the same as a Thai and gets a free vaccine, same day, same registering app, same vaccine, next foreigner expects to be treated like a Thai and demands the 90 day reporting to be scrapped, as Thais don’t need to do it.

Crazy article. Foreigners have been registering via the app for weeks. Not sure what they're on about here.
Link please ? Or name of app ?

So we will have vaccinated foreigners who will enter Thailand via Phuket in July, spend 7 days in Phuket then travel to Bangkok, Pattaya etc possibly carrying the virus, mixing with expats who have not been vaccinated, not even registered for it. Makes sense.

Phuket immigration very strict on retirement extension requirements
in Phuket
Posted
Unfortunately this is the case now with Phuket Immigration, anyone who does not use an agent and attempts to do it themselves for 1,900 baht, are in fact (in the eyes of the immigration officer) circumventing the system.
