I consider it a very dangerous place

As a lawyer friend recently told me Thai's (and this friend is Thai) lie about everything it is in their make up.
I doubt if they even realise they are doing it.

Not before she has acquired the right to work she can't. See this page:-

In your wife's case her right to work was consequent on her settlement visa.
Agreed

if he can get her a NI number then she can work. NI is a National Insurance number just for the record. I got my wife one but that was a few years ago so the rules may have changed but it was on a settlement visa.

A statement! guess my 42 years in the O&G industry doesn't count, drilled many wells that PTT have had "part" off!
Compare PTT to Conoco Philips and PTT are Big! they are only seven places away from Chevron.
The "7" sisters? where have you been? there have only been three sisters for many years now! 3 of the top seven now are new kids on the block, Chinese!
Of course your opinion counts especially with PTT experience. You still have the major players no matter what you call them and you know it

I have sent into Thailand in a single transfer Bht 6,000,000 and never had a problem

They are.
PTTEP the Exploration and Production branch of PTT owns contracts for oilfields Worldwide including in Australia and Brazil.
Small by comparison to the major players. They are definitely not part of the 7 sisters

There not so small! there no Sinopec or Aramco but in the top 25 in the world for sure,
Compare them to Shell, BP, Chevron and Exxon and they are small.
Obviously you don't work in the Oil & Gas industry, I do

They are a typical "state oil company" who inherited most of what they own, even so they are not a 'small" player with billions a year in income, must be about the largest tax payer in Thailand?
In Thailand they are not small within the Oil & Gas industry they are.
-
PTT thinking they are a major player in the industry sad really

Never really had a problem with the taxis. Having said that I do tend to tell them my destination in Thai which does help a lot. Trouble is anyone can be a taxi driver with no real knowledge of the city.
In the UK they drivers spend something like 5 years training before they get a full cabbie license. I am referring to the black cab taxis

I don't take sugar in drinks and I don't drink the ones that have it so yes I can look at other countries. The USA and UK have a serious problem agreed but so does most of Europe. Definitely not a pretty sight.

This made me laugh. I have never known a country where the population put sugar in absolutely everything, bar nothing. They even put sugar into drinks that are already high in the stuff, .like hot chocolate. Why they are mostly thin I have no idea.
Try India, Pakistan and most of Greece

All straibs of Malaria can cause it. Get it checked asap.

Play a game on it like soliter. It is a quick way to see how fast (or slow) it is. If it is slow could be the hard disk on the way out but that can be replaced easily enough. Make a back up of the OS if you buy it as replacing the hard disk will require it to install the software.
Generally look at the overall condition and especially the screen if it has cracks or the color is not consistent across the screen. Otherwise should be ok.

This sums up why there is so much crime in Thailand.

I have 2 laptops and I read it and tried it by swapping the HDD from one machine to the other. It immediately recognised it was not the same machine as the one it had been originally installed on. Further investigation provided the answer in that it is the motherboard that is identified. Suggest all these people who don't believe look it up at www.tomshardware.com

Previous post suggest that what you say is not correct, but that was a part of my original inquiry. It is not the case in the business setting, where a business buys a licence for "x" machines and can change the machines so long as the machines on which the software is used do not exceed the licence limit. Not sure about the home setting, but Pib's post suggest that the licence is transferable. At $12 for a installation key, it is probably worth the risk.
That is what MS and all the tech sites say so I don't care what one person says. The software must have been hacked and the key changed
-
The software license is only valid for the computer it was installed on. It checks the license against the motherboard. If the same no problem, if different then it says it is illegal

if it's is engineers then it would be none other than the students from Pathumwan Technical College, having a quiet weekend away at the beach ! They have something of a reputation !!
Couldn't be engineers, Thailand doesn't have any. They only have people who call themselves engineers but have no idea what a real engineer is.

This all sounds very illegal when you talk about changing your name in a different country. To be honest I would be doubtful of letting you back in the country 10 years from now with the suggestions you are considering.
Why were you on overstay to start with and please don't say you forgot no one will believe that
