  1. Nobody disrupted anything. There was no abuse and any offence taken is solely based upon the prejudiced scenarios you have created in your head in an effort to suit the narrative that you want to see.
  2. We have an unelected head of state whom we cannot remove, and a government with an 80 seat majority despite only securing 40% of the votes at the last general election. So yes, I am suggesting that the UK is not democratic. Democracy is not a relative concept.
  3. Jealous? Well of course it's not you, but you willingness to laugh it off and ignore it is bewildering.
  4. Unfortunately democracy and equality won't come to the UK any time soon. On the one hand we have a ruling elite who are so corrupt that they can't afford to lose their grip on power, and on the other hand we have a significant number of people who are quite happy to live on their knees, and happy for their descendants to follow suit. One of Britain's richest men inherits billions and avoids paying inheritance taxes
  5. How does that sum up anyone? Your conventions are not the only conventions nor are they the 'right' conventions.
  6. Please try to stick to the topic. This is nothing about the SNP or Scottish independence. This is about your championing the removal of the right to free speech. Many good people fought and died so that we could have that right but you want to give it away.
  7. Your eagerness to give away the hard won rights and freedoms that your forefathers fought for, and in many cases, died for, is truly depressing. If you define those of us who want to uphold the right to freedom of speech as anti British then so be it, but that is definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
  8. But we are talking about the right to freedom of speech being removed by a right wing government and being enacted upon by a disgraced and untrusted police force.
  9. I didn't ignore it - I asked for clarification. What are straps? How are they defined?
  10. Then to which straps are you referring? The banners were held together with string. What else is so scary to the state?
  11. Tell me where the selective reading is. Be specific because frequently, when you are challenged, you fall back on this device.
  12. You mean the pieces of string keeping the banners together during the transportation? Nothing says scared, weak and corrupt government like the banning of bits of string.
  13. Devices? What specific devices were found? Conspiracy to cause a nuisance? How is that defined? How embarrassing for a protester? How embarrassing for anyone who holds a UK passport.
  14. I am not a huge fan of the monarchy but it was nice to see Harry looking happy at his dad's big day.
  15. Maybe if Brian was to swear allegiance to me, I might have a tad of respect for him, but as things stand he can whistle.
  16. But you being tired of them is irrelevant. You are entitled to be tired of protest but the protesters are entitled to not give a fig. It seems you like cancel culture a bit too much though.
  17. One person, at least, was not put off by the republicans. Bow down to your betters.
  18. But your terms are not codified.
  19. Again, for the hard of reading, they were not glueing themselves to anything; they were breaking no laws whatsoever, however they have a point of view which challenges the orthodoxy. For that they were arrested.
  20. Then it's not freedom and you don't understand the concept.
  21. Not at all but you are certainly trying to twist the narrative. I suspect, in time it will be seen that, once again, the Met is acting outwith the law in suppressing legitimate dissent.
  22. They were attempting to exercise their right to freedom of political expression, you know, one of the things thousands of British servicemen died over the years to protect. And you are happy for it all to be taken away from us by a corrupt Tory government.
  23. But he is not allowed to say what he really thinks in public? Ok - that's not unlike North Korea, but if you are happy with it, that's your opinion. And the government thanks you very much.
  24. What an utterly pathetic reason - their placards were tied together with string. We have a government so corrupt and weak that they are terrified of the people, and therefore make it illegal to be in public with string. The UK continues to make itself the laughing stock of the world.
