I really don't understand the logic behind the 2pm rule. Maybe someone can explain it to me.
This is the time schools close, so I guess the law is to avoid students buying alcohol?

Planning is important.
Since I was 15 years old I was a saver. When I was 30, I had made my first million but I never spent that much; I was the opposite to you. At 38, a business partner did a job on me. I lost more than most could believe and then some. I owed my parents a massive sum of money that I paid back this year. I would have loved to have partied, done business class and just spent say just a million or so on myself but I didn't. I got nothing from all that work. Sure, I am going to get much more back in an inheritance from my parents (they are very old now; over 80) but I missed out on the best years of my life working and in the end, got very, very ill and now what dreams I had for a good 'old' life (I am 49) are gone. Sure, I have like you money in the bank and a pension now and life is not so bad but this is a good story (both of ours) to show things don't plan out like they do. While as this went on I worked a boring life in Australia until I started to work in Asia and that is what changed my life for the better. Sure I cannot work now but hell, if it was not my trips to Asia and meeting some old guy at a venue I worked at in Australia 20 years ago telling me about his trips to Thailand and Japan, I would have never left. Just a chance meeting changes it all. Just like your Orange operator.
The best of planning can go astray. I am not whinging; like others here, stating facts. Life just goes on. The best thing that came to me was my wife, so I am happy about that. The rest is now the future and I am sure you are smart enough to start again.
Best of luck.
Also from Belgium and quite similar life style with one difference, I accepted for myself that, to maintain such lifestyle, I would have to continue to work beyond retirement age. This way I continue to make money and stay “connected”.
To make this happen , I run my own company. Of course this creates a lot of stress but in exchange I am freed from wacko bosses, fixed working hours and stupid company rules.
I do make free time for myself and enjoy my condo, my car friends etc..but no big money pile. Yes it is risky but so far I had the best time I could wish!

It’s like the fable of La Fontaine “the grasshopper and the ant” when I was little my mother bought these choco pots that had all these nice stories printed. Now they are full with legal text..
I considered myself through all my life as the grasshopper, this is probably the reason why I ended up in Thailand. But if this is the lifestyle one chooses, at older age you can’t start to regret it. For me this means I will/have to work the rest of my life. At the end not so bad because I don’t get lonely, always surrounded by active people, solving problems every day and at the same time enjoy life.
At 61 I still have professional goals, Instill want to achieve things and I have no idea if Thailand is the end station. Going back to my home country however is the last option on the list.

I’m a little confused. I assume the OP is in need of a chemist; i.e. somebody who studies chemistry, not a pharmacist. What has H₂O₂ got to do with medicine?
You are correct in your assumption, thanks for understanding!

Grrrrrrr..

So if it's involved in a legal matter you probably need someone who can talk / write with recognised well accepted high credibility in this subject area. Probably not the local chemist.
Perhaps you should visit the appropriate faculty of a well recognized university and ask to speak to an expert professor and ask him/her for an opinion and ask for help you find an internationally recognised well accepted book etc., which is globally accepted as an authority on this subject.
I agree, I will continue to look for such person
Thanks for your help.

Thank you Dale, I am also convinced of the same, but at the end I will need a chemist who can help me as a witness in a patent infringment case.

Thanks for your reply, I am quite convinced a pharmacist won’t cut it, I want to find the relation between the
-(OH)C=C(OH)- structure and ascorbic acid. Is ascorbic acid part of that structure or is this structure part of ascorbic acid?

Why not ask a chemist. I've found many speak reasonable English.
Can you tell me how you found them?

I need some knowledge from a chemist regarding H2O2 and -(OH)C=C(OH)-
Hope somebody knows somebody...
Thanks

I live and work for the last 20y in Thailand. Probably I will stay, returning to my home country is not an option. During the past 20y many moslims immigrated to my country in such way they dramatically changed it. It doesn’t feel like my country anymore it became theirs. But there are still many beautiful places in the world, I hope, one day, to find peace and rest in one of them.

i can not make the trip back,
there are so many hopeless steps i cant cope with,
the distances too great, and no amount of money can
persuade the doctors to ever bother with my case.
also if i was in such a state that i thought i could do this
enterprise, i would likely just get on with my life,
either here in thailand or very possible a warm plot
of land belonging to EU
It is hard to believe that you can’t find a doctor in Thailand who can help you..back pain is terrible and does work on your mood I was in pain for many years 24/7 postponing the inevitable operation. Went to the specialist, fragments of the hernia were grown on my spinal cord, so a very risky operation. Revalidation was long, the outcome was not perfect but I can live painless most of the time. Later I had heart surgery, triple bypass, I survived that as well. Although I could have done the surgery in my home country, I had faith in these doctors and they did a good job. Today I fitness and even play squash once a week. So instead of being negative, do something about your back problem!- 10

For road rage to happen you need 2 angry macho drivers. You can get into a road rage every day or never. Choice is yours. Luckily most Thai drivers behave but a good % are complete wackos, distance yourself as fast as possible from them, it is surely not in our nature but that’s where brains should take over.

Next time when you want more replies, throw in some more popular words like, but not limited to: Thai cutie, She took my house, ladyboy or gay mariage. Serious things seldomly receive high scores.. about your problem, putting a spirit house on a cleaned up garbage belt seem quite wrong to me. If it would be me, I would let the mess cleaned up and put a cheap wite fence. Any other action involving other neighbours is IMO a waste of time.

My business is in Thailand, I just received a law suit for 155 milj THB for patent infringement which I did not commit. Just to put some comments in the right perspective. Even if I win the case I will have to pay all my legal expenses.

People don’t need marijuana
Not better or worse than alcohol
I hope it won’t be legalized, but I am probably part of the minority..
Make the world a better place not a worse ..

Yes beautiful woman are everywhere but the difference is in the %. Just walk along the majestic lanes in Moskou during a hot summer day, and you will find many gracious and beautiful ladies. The way they walk is just unseen in Asia.. but for me, I like my small Isaan girl. I also don’t mind when they get older as long as they take good care of their body and looks. Oh, by the way the guy on this forum who thinks “old” starts at 40 must have the wrong genes. I am 61 and still able to do all the things as when I was 40.

It might weird her out if I give her cash. She might take it the wrong way.
That would be the first one!

I’ve had the meter refused once as I mentioned in my original post and one time the driver didn’t want to go where I wanted. It was terrible. I had to wait at least another 60 seconds for another cab. I just don’t understand how so many posters have such extreme bad luck with taxi drivers here in Bangkok.
Could it be that sometimes, I just use common sense, and if I am going to (or coming from) a touristy area such as Siam Paragon or whatever other mall along Sukhumvit that I feel like seeing a movie at or getting a bite to eat, that I realize that it might be better to use the BTS? Sure, I have to walk a couple hundred meters to the BTS station and yes, I will sweat a little more but I seem to have no problem finding alternative modes of transportation (including walking) to avoid those location dependent situations with the taxi “crooks”.
Perhaps, after the complainers have finished their business on whatever soi they were most recently “serviced”, they should consider the kind of area that they are in and what kind of taxi drivers are waiting to screw them (a second time) and then find their way to a local BTS station. Or are they too embarrassed when all eyes are on them as they get on the BTS at Nana?
Which one of the Avengers are you?

So, you’re saying you’re not a very likable guy?
Majority doesn’t like me :)

The majority of taxi drivers? Wow...bad luck must follow you. Have you ever paused and wondered why?
Ok majority of taxi drivers I experienced. Sorry for this statistical error.
Yes it is possible my personal negative opinion is related to my character. That’s why it is a personal (bold) impression which is maybe not reflecting yours. On the other hand, taxi drivers who pass my criteria are very well tipped.

I think the issue is that this is Thaivisa, populated in the main by people who take great delight in whinging about and denigrating Thailand and Thais. Any opportunity they'll stick their ignorant and arrogant boots in anywhere it is not necessarily deserved.
I assure you this is not the case, I gave my honest opinion which is in this case not favorable for the majority of taxi drivers. This doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate Thailand and Thai people in general, on the contrary! In fact I consider your message rather negative and meaningless...I live and work in Thailand for the last 20y so my experience about taxis is not a one time occurance.
About Grab, same taxis, just extra “Grab” sticker and what makes it unpractical is that after the trip is confirmed, they always call for the same information.
