Profitability should be the main focus when management and employees are creaming off a large part of the diminishing revenue, due to inefficiency and poor work attitude.
The definition of an employer is; to get maximum production at the lowest wage. The definition of an employee is; to do as little as possible at the maximum wage. There is no compromise between the two parties.

In my humble opinion, for the Police to Police the Police may not be such a good idea, as it can cause friction in the long run between the ranks. Perhaps a better idea is to put the Police on a commission bases, whereby the Police can earn a commission of, let’s say, 10% of the value of each fine they impose on offenders on top of their salaries, this should help in making the police more active and in deterring taking bribes. Don’t you think?

Well concerning taxies not accepting passengers has happened to me a few times. What angered me the most was a few weeks ago when my pregnant wife wanted to take a taxi home because of the rain (she is a school teacher) she waved down a number of taxies and as soon as they saw that she was pregnant they all came up with the excuse that they are on the way to return the taxi to the depot. After about one hour of waiting in the rain a taxi finally stopped and helped her and told her that many taxi drivers are afraid to pick up pregnant women because they might give birth in the taxi. This plainly shows the unsympathetic attitude of many taxi drivers in Thailand. The definition of a taxi service is, to be of service to the public, and not a selective service as it is now.

To preserve wildlife, as well as human life, perhaps one should consider an elevated road of say about 4 meters, where ever necessary, a few million more but perhaps worth it in the long run. To have only two gate-way tunnels have been tried by meny prominent game reserves in Africa and does work unless they are about 500 meters wide and near a watering hole.

This man should be put in protective custody, to be shot in the leg is clearly not an assassination attempt, it is a warning to keep his mouth shut, or face assassination, the man knows, and has too much information.

Good, the further we can develop relations with our neighbors including Russia the less we have to depend on the yanks and their outdated technology.

Granted there are many traffic violators that need curbing. However before enforcing stricter traffic control one should first analyze as to why many motorist behave the way they do! Firstly one should look closely at the existing infestructure as it is now, before pointing fingers at the motorist. For example;
- The protruding man-holes in the road, and the steel covered holes for maintenance sometimes has a sudden drop of up to 10cm this forces the motorist to slow down significantly that ultimately slows the traffic flow down to a complete stop 100 meters back
- The state run busses that use all three lanes trying to overtake each other and using 1.5 lanes to stop when picking up or dropping passengers, when there is a special lane designated for busses and emergency vehicles, as most of our roads have three lanes this causes a complete blockage of two lanes and if there is a u-turn near where the bus stops, all three lanes come to a complete standstill which in turn contributes to heavy traffic congestion.
- Sometimes there are u-turns every 100 meters on many of our roads, especially from Victory Monument to Buffalo Bridge do we really need so many u-turns on such a heavily congested road? This causes a huge back-log in traffic, especially when two lanes are used by motorist at the u-turn leaving only one lane free for the traffic flow, then this comes to a full stop too when there are vehicles that queue up to turn left. Or there is a bus waiting for passengers. Shurly one lane for u-turn traffic is sufficient!
All these small things (just to mention a few) add up to heavy traffic congestion, thereby irritating the motorist which in turn causes unruly behavior on our roads, so Mr."5 Joms" consider amending your infustructure first before comming down so hard on the motorist.

He added that job opportunities will be another issue that affects the refugees when they return to Myanmar
Without sounding vindictive:; what about the job opportunities that are taken away from us, because of foreigners.

Simple solution; ban alcohol sales on the sidewalk (footpath) from food vendors, implement a sales permit for the sale of alcohol on the Soi shops, and ban drinking in public. Impossible you say? Just look at what is happening this weekend, no drunken brawls, less abuse of women, and so far a greater reduction on vehicle accidents.

He had instructed officials to investigate and find preventative measures to reduce the risk of something like this happening again.
Why do we always have to wait for a tragedy to happen before preventative measures are taken, we are talking about a family who lost a child and over a hundred who ended up in hospital? To simply say that the district chief says that an investigation and preventative measures should be done is simply not good enough, has the life of a child have no value anymore? Would you accept this, if it were your child?

In India after they past the death sentence to the people who gang raped a schoolgirl, the rape cases dropped by almost 40%. How can you say that the death penalty is not the solution? It’s the ONLY solution.

Castration or the death penalty is the ONLY solution, because nobody wants to die. Put them in jail they will still commit the same crime to the weaker inmates.

Do the Banks even relise how much revenue the country looses when the country almost comes to a standstill for one day? Have they even considered the death toll on our roads due to people rushing to go home and coming back? Haven’t we lost enough already due to the political turmoil a few months ago?

“RAPE” should be a capital offence and should carry the death sentence or castration whether committed by adults or by the adolescence in schools or universities on females or males. “RAPE” scars the victim for life. An adolescence rapist should be castrated to prevent a recurrence of this unforgivable crime, an adult rapist, if found guilty, deserves no mercy.
Unfortunately due to the inability of our past administration to curb violence and to implement the law on the masses we live amongst a sick and undisciplined society with little or no morals. However with our new administration one can clearly see a change in the system, just look at abrupt change in the attitudes of our public personnel, as well as law enforcement, the speed at which problems are sorted out, and perpetrators are apprehended is almost unbelievable.

Seems there are lot of newly motivated high govt officials now (i.e., look boss, see the great things I'm doing) with the NCPO moving lots of officials to inactive posts. Hope the newly found motivation results in significant improvements vs just press release/committee meetings for a few months.
Looking back at all your posts, you must be a very bitter man, or a “Man on the Run”

Actually this is not the EU’s problem, this is our problem, and we should first be given the opportunity of sorting out our problems “The Thai Way” before we are condemned by the western world. Do we ever interfere in their problems? I think not.
