  1. The farmers are in a tough spot. The current government hasn't paid them yet, but if the government falls to Suthep or a military coup they won't ever get paid. Their best bet is to continually remind the government how pissed off they are without actually toppling it, which is what they appear to be doing.

I don’t think so, firstly Shutup has started a street collection to assist the farmers as best they can, and secondly the military knows the plight of the farmers and they are fully aware of the value of the farmer, unlike the persistent government at the moment who can’t seem to see the writing on the wall.

  2. In my opinion, this is not merrily a globe-trotting exercise, because one can be sure that the UN as well as the super powers knows exactly what is going on from the foreign embassies in Thailand. The reason may be much deeper than that, it may be a plea for help perhaps financially, perhaps by armed forces, one can only speculate at this stage. However, whatever the goal of this globe-trotting exercise may be, the government must also realise their sins of the past, concerning slavery, extortion, corruption, and many other bad things that has not been curbed by the excising government has also been documented by the super powers.

Furthermore to report that the caretaker prime minister is being continually harassed by the opposition (which is known internationally,) is rather childish, somewhat like a child reporting that his lollypop has been taken away from him, don’t you think?

Where I live the are just now planting a new crop of rice while these farmers and protesting who planting the rice? No wonder their poor.

In my wife's village, which is 100% red shirt, most have not been paid and have no money to buy supplies for a new crop. Many owe money to illegal money lenders and are in dire straights.

I guess the farmer where I live are smart and have money or been paid by the government

Or possibly the village chief has intimidated them

  4. READ THIS

Chalerm reiterated that the CMPO would abide by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s demand that it refrain from using force in its mission. He also expressed his confidence that the continued operation would be successful and without violent incident

    BUT

At Pan Fah Bridge, police from the Second Region Provincial Police were seen firing at protesters with shotguns. Many protesters were injured and several ambulances were seen moving into the area to take the injured to hospitals.

    CONCLUSION

The caretaker Prime ministers words have no value or power in the existing government, which means that there is no control in this government.

  5. The farmers were a political tool from the start. The moment she bought their votes with the rice program they became a political tool. It is only natural that the game is now played in a way she does not like. She should have thought about this from the start. She started the stupid program, she forgot to assign enough funding. She oversaw the program with all its corrupt deals.. and now she is blaming others that say enough is enough no more money in this bottomless pit let the guilty be punished. Typical Shin attitute.

“Just because something isn't a lie does not mean that it isn't deceptive. A liar knows that she is a liar, but one who speaks mere portions of truth in order to deceive is a craftsman of destruction.”

  6. It said the move would make the role of village headman and kamnan or sub-district chief redundant

Probably means their kickbacks and commissions are in jeopardy. Why on earth do you need these hangers on anyway?

    I second that.

  7. Suthep has got tired, most of his followers left him, his "guards" are expensive and shot too many people, his friends in the army can't help him, he fears arrest, most people want to vote, he has no clue how to make the things move on... It's time for negotiation indeed...
