  1. This is again a direct result of vapes being illegal, same as those stories with 14-year-olds destroying their lungs etc. You don't hear these stories in Europe because they sell quality stuff instead of the Chinese crap available here locally. Legalise them with strict TIS/FDA approval for component quality and e-liquid safety.
  2. The original tyres on the Aerox are horrible and cause this even without any other issues. A rear top box can also cause this easily.
  3. I would keep it, but not spend it for a while. For the next few months, I'd keep an eye out for any news of someone losing their cash. If I saw a story of an person losing their cash and I'd be sure it's a match, I would be honest and return the money to the rightful owner. This way, I'd be sure that if the real owner is never found, the money is not kept by someone else.
  4. Why not do the same with drugs, instead of the pointless war on them, trying to punish drug users. Focus on harm reduction and help instead, and see the results. Some countries in Europe now have mobile drug labs to test substances and advice their users on their effects and dangers.
  5. I would also look at the size and shape of these massive monster buses. There is probably a reason why they are banned in Europe.
  6. A big part is also because of idiot drivers parking illegally, turning from the wrong lanes, lane hogging etc. the list goes on.
  7. Just legalize it with appropriate quality controls and stop being totally retarded..
  8. Whoever made this claim must be unaware of the dangers of high blood pressure. 90% of the flights I've taken with Vietjet have been delayed.. 😡
  9. I'm not sure, but I have seen some stalls in shopping malls stocking e.g. most of the "NOW Foods" supplements. I'd expect the prices to be higher than online though.
  10. I've been very annoyed with the new VAT/duty prepayment on iHerb. Previously, they used to include a "local post plus" service which gave the recipient the responsibility of paying their tax. However, during the past 10 years I was never taxed on a single package. So in practice, the tax pre-payment is now just a direct extra cost on top making ordering from iHerb a lot more expensive than what it was before. The "free shipping" is also a total gimmick. When you get free shipping, a similar amount is just added as "tax & duties" instead. On top of this, Flash Express doesn't accept certain products like Melatonin, so ordering them is no longer an option, and they have low maximum quantity/weight limits. I have found that for some items (not all though), shopping on Lazada/Shopee is actually cheaper these days.
  11. Just imagine if they used the same energy to stop burning here as had with the retarded Covid circus? Police arresting people for swimming in the sea or for having wine at home. Never going to forget those months of total madness. If there is a will there is a way.
  12. I've never understood how they can determine speed as the main cause of the accidents. I mean how is it possible? Are these all cases where someone e.g. just loses control of the vehicle and flies off the road in a curve, or similar? And poor visibility.. that's a new one. Foggy day?
  13. If they indeed are medical terms why use them in daily conversations? The term "cisgender" in particular is very cringey when one could just say "woman". Just hoping this madness stays out of Thailand.
  14. Yeah let me guess; medical websites from the same countries where people fight about which bathrooms to use?
  15. Please keep that woke terminology in your home country. The correct terms are "Women" and "Ladyboys".. or if more specification needed, "real women" and "ladyboys". Both are great and to be treated with respect.
  16. I think it's an interesting question. One way to (possibly) avoid the tax at the moment would be to take a loan from abroad, and then bring that money in as it wouldn't be considered income. Then you can pay back the loan using foreign income.
  17. I know someone who was at the scene of the accident calling for an ambulance (assuming it's the same accident, but based on the date, location and story, I'm 99% sure). I was not there personally but this is what I was told: The accident involved 3 people and it was late at night: The Brit was not riding a motorbike, but he was a passenger on one which was being ridden by a local lady. The lady merged onto the oncoming traffic lane to ride the wrong way to avoid having to U-turn much further away (there is a raised lane divider on this part of the road, with a U-turn further up). However, there was a local man riding at a decent speed from the other direction, correctly in his lane, who hit the lady + Brit crossing the road. The Brit passenger and the Thai man got injured and the lady who caused the mess was mostly uninjured. Very nasty accident. If everything happened as described, can't really blame anyone except the lady taking the shortcut out of laziness, which ultimately caused life-changing injuries for the Brit and possibly for the Thai guy as well. The moral of the story: never ride as a passenger on a motorbike and let someone else be in control of your life.
  18. Yes that is correct in normal circumstances but given OP has a visa issued by the BOI immigration in Bangkok, the TM30 requirement is not enforced by them. Otherwise, they will absolutely make it your problem during visa renewals (e.g. in Chiang Mai immigration).
  19. Filing the TM30 is the landlord's responsibility and not yours. The BOI Immigration (One-Stop Service) in Bangkok does not require a TM30 for visa extensions or 90-day reports (as of speaking). So you don't really need to worry about it. I never filed a single TM30 during 6 years in Bangkok. If the condo juristic office is asking for it, tell them to contact the landlord. It's not your problem.
  20. I did not bother reading through the whole thread, but have foreign loans been discussed already? Example; I want to buy a condo in Thailand. I take a loan from a foreign bank and remit it to Thailand. Later on, I pay back the loan using foreign income sources. From my understanding, this would not create any taxable events in Thailand.
  21. This is very smart, if you gift money to your spouse/children that is clearly separable from your personal living expenses.
  22. There isn't a work permit for self-employed people in Thailand and most likely won't be anytime soon. The first thing to understand would be whether you are simply receiving online income (passive income) or actively working for the said income. In the first case, you don't need a work permit in the first place. For example, you could own an LTD abroad and receive dividend income which you remit to Thailand. In this case, you could simply declare this in your annual tax return in Thailand (if you wish to pay taxes here). If you are actually working online and do not wish to fly under the radar (like many do) there are companies that may be able to assist you to work in Thailand legally. For example, Iglu is a company that enables its employees to work remotely for foreign clients from Thailand.
  23. You wouldn't really need to "legalize" your activity in the first place if you simply own online stores abroad that generate your income. Of course, if you are actually working for the said stores, then it would be more of a grey area. But nothing illegal about being a business owner in Thailand and bringing in related passive income.
  24. Would be an appropriate punishment for his <deleted> driving
