His goal for Thailand is 'net zero emissions by 2065.' What will the country look like by that time?

When I first met my wife, 35 years ago or so, she was uncomfortable with the fact that I would often sit and read a book. She said that it was anti-social. Her family had no books other than Buddhist texts and it was rare in those days to see anyone in a public place reading a book. She has led a perfectly happy life, though, without books. Each to his own.

Ombra replied to yeahbutif's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Seven years ago, my wife got a Bangkok number beginning with 3, but two years ago I got one beginning with 1. -
Last year, in Nakhon Phanom, I got my documents from the bank the day before I submitted my application, but the immigration officer sent me back to the bank. Everything had to be done the same day.

Non O based on retirement

Given that documents need to be obtained from a bank on the day you apply for the non-O visa and that the bank requires signatures, an agent surely cannot take care of that part. Or am I wrong? -
You are right. Building on flood plains is asking for trouble. However, 30 years ago, when my wife said that she wanted to have a house in Muang Ake, I didn't question her choice because I wasn't in Thailand and I knew little about Thai geography or history. Now, the area is undesirable because people know that the government cannot protect these low-lying districts from flooding.

I am driving my second CRV. I had the first for 5 years and I've had the current one for two years. I am an old man and I wanted a comfortable car for long journeys. I have had no problems with either car. The mileage is good (nearly 14 kms / litre), the car handles well, it has good acceleration, and it is very spacious. It is not flashy, but it looks nice. It is also quiet, so that I can enjoy music on a long journey. The only complaint that I have heard is that the rear seats are a little hard. My driver's seat, though, is great.

I am going to Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital on Tuesday to get a Pfizer vaccination. The message says that it is free of charge. This is my first vaccination.

Does Immigration make any provision for old people?
Ombra replied to Ombra's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks for the warning. This time, I shall drive and take it easy. I'll go to Immigration in the afternoon and probably stay overnight in a hotel. -

Thank you very much. I should start reading forms carefully as I think that I qualify. That is very good to know. I appreciate the help. -
Renewal of Retirement Extension

I use the 800K method and only withdraw the interest, so book shows that the deposit has never dipped below 800k. -

What did they require from the bank? The usual letter, a statement of the account, and photocopies of all (?) the pages of the bank book? -

Thanks for all the suggestions. I haven't seen gel ear plugs in the pharmacies, just the foam or plastic ones, but I'll look around. As for meditation, I have tried and failed. I am too easily distracted. -

You might think it is worse, but when I am driving I can stop and walk around and get my circulation going. I can also lie on the back seat and raise my legs for a while, which is something that doctors recommend as a way of avoiding blood clots. -

I have about a two-hour drive and I am hoping to be at the bank by 9 a.m. and then at Immigration by 10. I did think about leaving later and submitting my application in the afternoon. Perhaps 2 p.m. would be better.
