A few years ago, a Thai neighbour told me that there is one day a week when the traffic on Phetkasem Road heading northwards is quieter because of restrictions placed on trucks. I don't remember the day and the neighbour has now gone, but if the claim is true and if there is an easier day on which to drive, I would be grateful for the information.

I went to Hua Hin last week and found what I wanted. As I came from the south, I stopped first at Bluport, which was a big disappointment. The third floor was closed, and the other floors were very empty. My second stop was at PowerBuy, which was also a disappointment as it is really quite small. However, a young bloke there assured me that I could find whatever I wanted at Market Village, and he was right. They have an excellent selection of watches and fitness trackers, and I was able to buy a Samsung Galaxy 5 for my wife's birthday.

My permission to live here in retirement ends on 17th October and I have to apply for a renewal in Hua Hin. However, at that time I need to be in Bangkok, and I have forgotten how many weeks beforehand a person can apply for a renewal. Could someone please tell me? With thanks.

Grass is 80% water and the clippings contain valuable minerals so they should be left on the lawn. If the grass is not long, you won't see the clippings after a couple of days. If it is long, just rake the clippings around.
