  1. I'm currently using the Swiss based VPN called 'Proton'. But it constantly causes my laptop to hang. When I open my laptop proton tries to re-open and theres a bug. I open the app and it says 'proton not responding'. I quit the app but chrome does not work. Its a wind up to be honest.

I want a VPN that not based in the good old United states of America and one that does not keep logs.

Its not so important but if you also use one that I can pay in crypto currency I would be interested.

I have tried before 'Express vpn' and Nord..... But they also have annoying messages. For example if I try to shut down my laptop theres a message 'do you want to shut down xxxx vpn'.

I want a quality user friendly and robust VPN. I will not consider any free VPNs

    thanks

  2. Gold has dropped (crashed) in price last week. Therefore a good time to buy unless you think it will drop more.

A good option is the Perth Mint in Western Australia. Im not an aussie but I was still able to buy there via their online depository program. Its guaranteed by the WA government. Actually if theres no liquidity in the market and no buyers the mint guarantees to buy it from you. When I sold it they then wired it to my thai bank account. I made 40% profit in 2 yrs. Highly recommended

I know everyone is up to date but just to say I was in krungski bank today and if you hv 2 etc different account..as mentioned collectively only 1 million is covered.. anybody hv any idea how good back up is on these thai banks I'm not savvy on this stuff

    1. register an account at bitkub or any crypto exchange

    2. link your thai bank account and transfer your money

    3. buy bitcoin or ethereum

    4. Move it to a newly purchased Trezor hardware wallet and dont give anyone your private keys

    5. Your money is 100% safe as long as you keep your private keys to your trezor safe and separate from the actual device.

  4. I was looking at 3 rai of land for sale. Its currently used to cultivate rice. The land would have to be raised to a higher level (same as the road in the pic).

If I did pay for x amount of trucks to raise the level of the land on 1 rai ( out of the 3) and did correct draining etc..... would it be structurally safe to build a house on that land? I was thinking of a single story house (4 b/r 3 bath) new house.

If you have ever had to pay for truck loads of soil to do a job like this how much did you pay per sq m?

I know that I would have to pay for retainer walls to be built around the newly formed raised land areas. Nearby I drove past other land that paid for land to be raised but no retainer walls as yet. The heavy rain is now washing most of it away at the sides. Very stupid...

The nearest electric poles are 500m down the road and same with city water. Is this going to cost a fortune to get city electric and water to the land?

It sound a bit of a hassle but it is stunning land. I think that I would have to go to PEA and ask them for estimate costs and PWA to see if its viable or not.

But if you have ever done this in thailand please leave a comment.

    thanks

  5. In June I had the first dose of AstraZeneca and soon have the option of getting the 2nd dose.

However, there might be the possibility of getting a Pfizer jab instead.

I read about the study in Spain where they are mixing the brands.

I suppose I could just take the 2nd dose of AZ and try to get a Pfizer booster in December thereabouts.

What would you do in my situation?

    thanks

  6. The update is that I emailed a pest inspector back home that Ive used on previous houses. I sent the photo to him. He said:

    Yes definitely termites.
That’s one hell of a nest.
Termites can travel through concrete structures like Cold Joins for example to find food so I would definitely recommend getting this nest treated.
Either foaming with Termidor foam or applying a bait will do the trick.

On the phone she was making out as if its nothing. Its annoying as I do like the house and the location. I put in a reasonable offer and told her to contact me anytime when she is not so delusional.

Agree its vey unlikely they will damage any of the structure concrete and steel, or proper hardwood.
However don't just look for evidence in wood. That's what I used to think until I saw what they can do to grout joints in tiles and some items that had a grouted or cement surround.

THanks for all the comments. I also took photos of these cracks which go around the house on the outside on the same side where that termite nest is. I dont know if its them causing this. But theres also cracks high up in one of the photos. What do you think?

  8. Also, I obviously know that termites decimate wood in a house. But this house is a concrete structure and has brick/ cement footings. My question is.... can these termites stuff up the structure of this house?. Its got a tiled roof (old style ceramic tiles) and presumably these are supported by either wooden or concrete beams. I suppose I have to get inside the ceiling. Any opinions are appreciated

I live with mine so it's the opposite for me. They're nice enough but they are not very bright. Before, we'd escape by having weekends away, but instead we're now stuck here having to work from home. My wife is more annoyed by this than I am and things have got heated, but when things go in one ear and out of the other there doesn't appear to be much hope of improvement.

I feel the same way as you. Ive thought about finding a rental of my own. Either a condo or a house. My wife said its ok. Ive actually been looking. I would go there once or twice a week when Im feel rattled. Maybe you could do the same

  10. I'm soon to see a foot surgeon about the swelling on the ball of my foot. Suspected hallux valgus. My big toe is bended towards the others.

    Google dr says:

A bunion, also known as hallux valgus, is a deformity of the joint connecting the big toe to the foot. The big toe often bends towards the other toes and the joint becomes red and painful. The onset of bunions is typically gradual. Complications may include bursitis or arthritis.

Im interested to know if any other members have experienced surgery to fix this. How long until you fully recover from this surgery. Im interested to know when I might be able to run again based on your past experiences of this?

After surgery how long did the pain last for? How many days.

    thanks

Many doctors have an over-inflated ego, with the constant obeisance they get from the underlings. Nurse do far more work than doctors, who are often working just because they come from a middle-class family.

Get real!! Dr's have to do minimum 6 years intensive university course followed by specialist qualifications. They do surgery and save lives.

Please avoid writing about things you have no idea about
