If one has a pcr test at any hospital and you are positive you are then immediately locked up in a state quarantine facility for 2 weeks- even if you have little or no symptoms. Now do you understand why????

I wanted to know what are the additional benefits of having a WP in Thailand.
Months ago I was rejected by a major insurance company in Thailand for not having a WP. At the time I was applying for 'Accident insurance'.
I just asked the pink bank GSB about applying for a visa card using a WP and not having to pay the security deposit to them. I was told that I would have to show 6 months of salary into the account and then I can get one and not pay the bond on the credit card.
Anything else?
thanks

I pulled into a PTT petrol station and looked at the girl about to fill up my car. I thought she looked like a bar girl. Lots of tattoos and a bit rough around the edges. Where I live she kind of stood out a bit (with her impressive looks).
I decided to investigate. I asked her if she could speak English. She said yes. I said to her that I thought I might have seen her in Pattaya last yr. She told me that she used to work in a bar there.
I think its great that some of the red light workers adapting to normal life and getting a real job. Its good for them IMHO.
Does anyone know of any other examples. It would make a fascinating research topic.
cheers

If you are linguistically talented, speak, read, write Thai, English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese then you would be able to find something making probably more than 80K
Yes, that sounds really easy... ha ha.
Looking at OP's grammar I think he can barely manage with the English language!

Plus to apply for PR or citizenship and not being married to a Thai, you have to have a minimum income of 80k baht per month
but if you marry a lovely thai girl that goes down to 40k a month and you dont have to apply for PR. You can go straight for citizenship

I'd just keep the money in the bank and count this "mistake" as blessing. If you want to leave something to your daughter, leave her money as Thailand tourism will never be the same and I can only imagine what the average Pattaya condo will look in 10 years.
I cant believe you actually think that tourism in thailand will never be the same again. After mass vaccinations globally, I think this chinese virus is going to fizzle out just like SARS did. Before we know it walking street pattaya will return to its normal glory

I'm thinking of buying a house and putting in my child's name. I wanted to know if there are any specific age requirements to do this. i.e. does the minor have to be above x years of age? If so what is the rule or does it differ between the land offices?
If I proceed with doing this I would immediately register a 30 year lease and pay tax at the land office so that I have 'real property' rights to live there and subsequently the house cannot be sold.
thanks

I'm no fan of Pharmaceuticals or any of the vaccines so I will never take a COVID vaccination. I workout daily, eat healthy and fuel my natural immune system with vitamins, herbs and healthy living. Besides we all die sooner or later and I have zero fear of death when my time comes. Live life to the fullest without fear or simply exist while fearing the inevitable.
please write to us from you ICU bed if you have the strength. Any regrets?

A registered lease at the land office is deemed to be 'real property'- keep evidence that the tax has been paid. Its solid as a rock.. unless the terms of the lease are not adhered to.

I'm booked for Moderna. The more I read the news, the less I believe I'd get it anytime soon, if ever.
- Over 9 million registered of which most if not all paid at private hospitals
- Good 3 million to be available
- 10,000 to most hospitals for nearly 2.8 million of the doses
- The other 200k will be split between hospitals that have, some over million registrations (like THG).
That in itself makes me believe that majority of those waiting for Moderna won't get it until mid next year or even later.
As such, I'll take Astra Zeneca first, which is offered by BOI, where vaccinations start in a week. By the time I'd get my queue for Moderna, it'll likely be time for a booster shot already anyway. Maybe even beyond that already.
Anyone working for BOI sponsored company (who gets work permit at one stop center at Sam Yan), please DM me for link to register. Apparently that's also for those with Thailand Smart Visa.
Moderna have NEVER before had a vaccine approved. This concerns me a lot.
I will wait for J&J or P. Reputable companies with history of vaccine distribution globally.

And 3 jabs x how many million people equals how many million jabs.
The only problem is that Thailand does not have that many million vaccines and is unlikely to acquire them in the near future.
Its now possible to pre-order the moderna vaccine via several private hospitals. They are telling us that we can get it by the year end. I just bought one for my wife and staff. Personally I will wait for the P jab or J&J

Why are only Australians and Canadians being offered these vaccines by the Thai Govt? Shouldn't the elderly and those with underlying health conditions, of whatever nationality, come first? Is this part of the Japanese AZ donation (for foreigners 10% or is it 20%?). Where is the Pfizer donation? It seems very desperate, rushed and murky.
its bc the oz govt donated 2 to 3 million baht to thailand a few months ago to help with the covid situation here

Stop wasting time and money with Sinovac!!!! Do your jobs and protect the people in the country already!!!
Radical words. 2 sinovac jabs and a further booster from another brand by the end of this yr is pretty good to be honest. Thailand doesnt have any other options at the moment and thus one cant be too radical like you

Perhaps you will get sinovac.
but I think it’s Bangkok that has the most problems dealing with foreigners. I had an appointment in Udon for AZ, but couldn’t go because of quarantine. I’ve since had 14 appointments in Phuket, but cancelled them all because it was sinovac.
No offence intended but maybe its not your smartest decision. Daft to reject any brand of jab in my opinion, Why not get the sinovac 2 times and by the end of the year the American brands will be available for sure as your booster.
I think you need to make better decisions based on the circumstances. A bit of forward thinking might help you

Go "help" somebody at Nana plaza from your barstool. Do it in a language they understand.
The rest of your comment is laughable at best, won't react on that.
These forums are sacred sanctuaries for the nutters and weird types. Some of your comments on this thread are remarkable and prove my point.

That is a very wide question, but generally, if others are around then no, I would not stop. On a country road with nobody else around, provided my dash cam was up and working, then common humanity say that I would stop and help, indeed I have done so in the past, but in a city or town, no chance. I work to the sensible maxim that in Thailand, we are none of us farangs in Kansas anymore.
What kind of Doctor are you Tom? Not the type of response I would expect from a real doctor

Frits is back , unbelievable how descending you can be . This person went to the scene of the accident and talked to the lady that was clearly injured . Talking to someone in a situation like this can help a great deal to keep them consious and keep them from slipping away . But i bet you helped a lot of people in your lifetime . You must have a pittifull life i really never see you comment anything possitive only bashing people and being negative . I bet you are from the netherlands and lived in a small village where everybody knows eachother . Some place like Volendam where there's only inbreed . These people helo and actualy do something rather then sitting behind their keyboard and being negative . There is contact info on TV to get in contact with the good sammaritan i think you need that . Maybe you need a good talk with someone .
I couldnt have said it better myself.

Are you telling me that if someone has a bike accident right in front of you, you will not do anything to help out. Get real
