The trouble is that his landlady can just pay a small sum to an immigration officer to find out his new address, TM30 ???? unless of course he is leaving the country, which means a police summons or raid on his new gaff.
no one I know does TM30s.

I'm loving these inter provincial travel restrictions. I don't have to put up with my wifes parents coming once a month to stay. Often the FIL would stay a few days and leave old Khun Yai with us. After a week I start to get annoyed with some of her weird behaviour:
- boiling eggs and corn in the same saucepan.
- Walking around the living areas after a shower in just her towel and shower cap. I dont want to see this.
- After drying herself off she frequently hangs the soiled towel on the clothes rack with the other clean towels that I just hung up from the washing machine. Its unpleasant to find that I have a used towel after turning off the shower to dry myself.
- After taking a shower she frequently points the shower head towards the actual electric shower unit. Quiet dangerous as we have a little one
- Constantly has the hiccups whilst eating. I dont want to hear this every day.
- When she cleans the toilet she closes/locks the door. Its weird behaviour.
Need i go on. I can if you want.
Its been months since Ive seen them. First time Im alone with my family for a long time. Its a positive outcome from this chinese virus.
Anyone else have any positive items to add?

If I've had 1 AZ jab and no symptoms of the covid virus can I get the ferry over to Koh Chang for a quick holiday?
Does anyone know if its possible? Do they want to see a negative test?

Obviously the vaccine rollout has been mismanaged in Thailand. The purpose of this thread is to show that the 'powers to be' are making some sensible decisions based on the current circumstances.
Months ago, all frontline medical staff around Thailand were given 2 jabs of the Sinovac vaccine. My wife is a Dr and we have numerous staff at our private clinic. They were all vaccinated with Sinovac as well. Evidently China sold Thailand a sub-standard vaccine with poor efficacy. The Ministry of Public Health in Bkk have known this for ages and now they are offering a Pfizer booster as soon as possible.
Today they called my wife and asked if she would prefer the Pfizer or AZ as a booster. She told them she wanted the Pfizer. Our nurses were not offered the booster at this time. Unbeknown to this happening, a few weeks ago I pre-paid booster Moderna jabs for everyone via one of the big private hospitals in bkk. I also pre-paid 2 jabs for their partners. I think this will be available in Q4 this year.
The point of this discussion is that the government, in conjunction with the department of health, are already making sensible decisions by vaccinating all front line medical professionals in the country. They are the backbone of the health system subjected to the highest risks.

because things are only going to get worse. Our lives, as we have known and enjoyed them, are over.
Thats a bit dramatic isnt it????? Wait for 80% of the population in most countries to be vaccinated and this <deleted> show is over. That is until the next virus comes out of china

Dumb and dumber. About as pretentious as driving a Rolls Royce or Bentley in the west. Some models sell for more than 10 million.
I recently bought a new car. One of the ways I looked at value, was to measure the cost of that same car in the US. Mine was almost identical. Otherwise, would have felt like a sucker.
And at this point in time, who wants to feel like they are sponsoring a failed regime?
what did you buy?

People all over the world want to flaunt that they are rich whether they are or not.
Makes them feel important I guess but deep down, probably very insecure.
And no doubt you are a man of limited means.
Some people just want to drive a nice car. I cant get enough of this

"if you have good health insurance, you are ok in thailand." That is the whole point, I know there will be exceptions to this, but there will be instances of people (like me for instance) who have spent their whole life looking after themselves from a health point of view and have no existing conditions.
We could take out health insurance at very highly inflated premiums, paying into it for years with no claims, and still getting hit with increases every so often, then eventually told you are too old and the insurance is cancelled, especially after pocketing our premiums for years.
I agree with you. Im not in perfect health but dont have health insurance. I just pay the bill myself at a private hospital. I have accident insurance at the pink bank via my debit card. It only cost me 1200 and I did a claim for 19000 after a running injury. They paid up. But big things I will just continue to pay myself. I also have SS health insurance after being a teacher ages ago. I can go and use the big public hospital for free if I want. I think paying private health ins is a waste of money

With over 15,000 daily infections I'm starting to get worried about living here. We have a small business and there are no lockdowns yet in our city. But the way things are going this is probably going to happen.
With the governments incompetent vaccine rollout and limited supply, I think the situation in Thailand is going to get worse. We must be heading towards 30k a day infections and steep rise in the death rate.
Its the first time Ive ever thought that maybe I should take my wife and child back to the. mother country and wait this out.
What I dont understand is why the Thai government didnt have the intelligence to pre-pay and mass order the vaccines back when western countries were doing this last yr. Absolutely useless bunch....

There adamant about not getting Sinovac. I have a feeling thats what the North Eastern Issan area will be left with.
Tell these fools to get the sinovac now and then a pfizer booster towards the end of this yr.....

Tell the ignorant idiots to take ANY vaccine that they can. They can always get a Pfizer jab as a booster in 4 months time. Jesus wept....

If you don't mind maybe you can elaborate this a little.
Can someone get a work permit without business visa and/or without company?
Yes, read other comments I made. If you wife doesnt have a company and just pays personal tax, you can add your name to the license for the business and then apply for a WP

Incorrect. Your statement is incomplete. You should add ' or one can have a 'proper' contract with the wife. Just download a template from the internet. My wife and I do not have a company and I got a WP

You have to work for a company and that company will know what to do. You need lots of documents and if all documents are correct then it's no problem to get work permit and business visa.
You're incorrect. We do not have a company structure at all. My wife pays tax as an individual every 6 months and I successfully got a WP. I know of a few other cases of westerners with restaurants who did it this way. In their cases, they just added their names to the wifes license.

Are you working for a Thailand registered company or partnership with a registered capital of at least 2 million baht and 4 Thai employees?
To be technically correct you could also say.... Or is your wife paying tax as an 'Individual' (ie personal tax) and applying for a WP that way'. This is possible as I have just done it. We do not have a company structure with our business.
