taking advantage of another person, without consent, is dispicable.

as is defending it in any manner.

So we agree that it s not only rapist and murderer... that's what we see everywhere in the world... Nord taking advantage of South...without consent.
"economic competition" ( and abuse and corruption that goes with it) is the cause ( or the source) of "physical violence".

Its probably just me... but I would prefer to see rapists and murderers get caught, than corrupt people, unless the corrupt people protect the rapists and murders, in which case they become complicit in the crime, and deserve the same treatment as the perpetrator.

They are the consequences of violence amongt the poor people ... because it all start with education... And you probably know that "poor people" tried to immitate the rich people...so when you see a rich asking to a poor to "kho thot his car", he just make this behaviour acceptable among those poor minded...
A thai raping a white drunk girl ?! not a big deal like it was a rich thai woman...
As you see on the comments, this is the fault of the girl because she get drunk... That's what I mean...

I have so many female friends who lived in Thailand for years, and they continue to say "I felt very safe in Thailand" when asked by others about safety in Thailand. I don't understand it. The stats and the news do seem to agree with this mentality.

Of course it is safe. At least safer than Europe....
But what is in the news are the dirtiest story....not every day life... sure not!

That's why people get racist...without news like this, they would love each other...maybe :)

  4. LOOOL !
I have been hitted by the grand-mother of my child with a wood stick on the head.
    Then later, on the legs...
And, my ex-wife, the mother of our child, throw scissors to the back of my head....
When I go to the police to tell the story....they just say they don't want to get involved in family case, and we should go to the court about the child.... However, my ex-wife has been to the police to complain that I had Assaulted her (which is actually the opposite)...and the police man contact me by Facebook to say that he will make the complain if I don't come to the police station...
So when I see that video and that the man has so much "problem" only for a slap....it makes me smile... ( it doesn't mean that I agree with this violence, of course)

  5. I wonder what they will do when auto-guiding cars are on the market! Even Uber has bought some of this auto-guiding cars in an other country.... Maybe it s time to understand that technologies will steal our work, and that the "salary" need to be replace by a "basic income".
But this idea isn t even welcome in our countries yet.... Yeah enjoy competition! and forget about cooperation... sad sad sad...

If I was the waitress I'd of given her the pizza but spit on it in the back room.

Well if I was the waitress, I would take the order withut telling anyone that the customer is not Thai ! But maybe we don't have the same ethics...

I think  the effect on Thai people who read this story is just COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.  Better take the Mai Pen Rai attitude then go and get a pizza or something lighter elsewhere, the Thai way.

I m agree with everything that you write about "peaceful ways". However, it all start with the waitress creating a separation between "thai" and "non-thai".  We could say that the waitress could just take the order without telling the cashier that the customer is not thai...that would be a peaceful way as well...

So I believe that it s COUNTERPRODUCTIVE to just forget about it and go somewhere else when it s an issue that many "non-thai" want to "fix". And it s even more important when it comes from a well know thai company...

Thai "culture" as defined by my wife always involved me paying for everything. I went along with it for the first years of our life together, as she worked long hours for sod all ( like most Thais ) and it was just us, but when it started to encompass paying for her family, I made it clear that wasn't going to happen, and the end came suddenly, in every way, for our marriage.

I still don't know if she just got tired of being married to me or if it was a long con, but same result either way.

I'm just really happy we didn't have an atm anchor ( baby ).

Many likes for this answer...I guess true experiences never lie... and it happen to many of us.
Me too my friend ! and she even don't let me see our 3 years old daugther. ( but we were not married, make it more complicated)

Everyone is NOT the same, we are all different .

    Oh really ?
I have two eyes, a brain, legs , arms....
But many people prefer to look at the differences ! At the flags colors, langage, race, sexual orentation, etc....It s so much more easier to get angry against those people than against the "high society".
Same everywhere in the world, WE LOVE high class people...they earn 100 to 1000 times more than 90% of the world population (with less effort), and WE LOVE THEM !

So, because your GF charges foreigners more money, even though she gives bigger portions , this proves that over charging happens everywhere and with everything in Thailand ?

ONE street seller is indicative of a whole nation ?

Arf come on...let say not everything, but many things.... Happy ?!

everyone is different and only certain people are eligible for certain things .

That's maybe THE problem in this world !
Everyone are the same, they just love different flag colors!

Banks offer decent fixed deposit rates sometimes. I told them one bank I wanted a fixed deposit at the rate and time period advertised. The bank rep told me it was for Thais only. Happens on a lot of things you buy - cheaper if you get a Thai to buy it for you.

My ex-thai girlfriend was selling Papaya Salad ( Som Tam) on the streets of Patong. ( Phuket)
She always charge double price to Foreigner, and I was so angry against that....she didn't understand that she is ruining her own business by acting like that.
Her answer was : "Yes but we give more". Fact is that Farang are no so stupid and most of them knows the real price ( on the streets). And she wasn't giving so much more compare to the price.
So yes I agree, it happen in many places in Thailand, in many kind of business...but how to make them understand that they are not helping themselves ?!

Thai people doing what they want in Thailand? Yes, that's fine with me.

Oh yeah! Loving the same flag colors is like loving the same football team...so yes, if you are part of the "team", you can do what you want ? Sounds like fascism...

  14. An other funny thing.

It says that for drunk driving over the limit you can get a fine of 5000thb up to 20000thb....so the cop will ask for 20000thb to avoid going to the court....i payed only 3500thb (at the court)! how does it works lol ?!

  15. The girls has probably been told that : " it s ok because many other thais do it"....and that is something to fight here, from my opinion. not part of "the culture" ( as many like to say)

Prostituion IS illegal. And there is a kind of hypocrisy when it comes to that topic.
I have seen in the news that a guy has called the police when he find out that the massage he paid was actually a "full service"...and everybody was charge for pimping and prostitution...
What if every "customers" will do the same ?!

Deal hard drugs.  Should be executed.  Now before you jump on me.  Think of how you'd feel if one of your children got addicted or died from his drugs.  That's what I thought...

Then we should execute every cigarette manufacturer / seller for the people who died from a cancer resulting of too much smoking...
    Education is the key !
