I have post kind of same thing last week.
All reaction were like : " no police have all right"
It s actually forbidden to make a block roads without strict permission of a high ranked officer.
If the police ask you to delete, It might be that the blockroads was not legal. ( as it happen for me ).
I also recover the pictures that the policeman itself delete on my phone. So I guess you can make a complain at anti-corruption office in bangkok.

As it s all writting in Thai, I asked for an interpreter but It has been refused. Why ? because I knew that the location where I ve been arrested should bw writtin in this report, and it was wrong. SO if they lie about the location where they arrested me, they are breaking the law...

It doesn't mean that I didn't break law....I have paid for my crime, now let them pay for their crime...or just let it like this, and one day, the day when YOU will have the same kind of problem, don't cry about illegal checkpoint my friend...give money to the police and make them have the feeling that what they do is right! ( that s stupid!)

You have paid for your crime ?...so you have been to court/judge already then ? If you have paid off the cops all you have done is paid in a bribe, ergo maybe better to keep quiet and get on with things instead of trying to play bar stool lawyer

There were no inspector, just an officer...If he wanted to delete the picture where he appear on the blockroads, that's because he is not "high ranked" enought to make a checkpoint.... it s just common sens , how can you support that the police doing illegal things only because I have done a crime ? You are then supporting corruption...that's ridiculous...
For your information, I have been asked to pay the bail on a thai name ( Yes not in my name!) I refused it of course...that's why I had to stay in the jail for 40 hours...And I had to pay only 2500thb to the court...instead of a very high asked fine by the police...
Do you understand , guys, that when the police catch you at a checkpoint, they will ask you a fine that is much higher than the fine you will have to pay at the court....only to avoid a few hours in a cell....come on.... I dont understand your point of view...

1. not your business and not the object of the post. But could be for drunk-driving...(if it make you happy).

2. took pictures 1st because it s the only way to proof that the checkpoint is not legal....if the checkpoint is legal, there is no problem to take pictures, they will let you do, it s a right....if the checkpoint is not , they will ask you to delete it...( that's what happen to me...I don;t think they have the right to take my phone and delete the pictures, that personnal stuff)

3. check the news...since october 2015 temporary checkpoint has been banned....and in Phuket, we didnt see any during 6 months....now low season start, police get less fine ( and the commission with it) so they start to make illegal checkpoint...

The only acceptable checkpoint, that wouldn't be temporary, is in front of a police station....Otherwise it need to be set by high ranking officer....I don;t think those high ranking officer works at 4am.... that s why the officer ask me to delete it...(from my opinion)

Yes, foreigners and Locals have to follow the Law....policemen as well !!!!

I have been arrested at a police checkpoint point in early morning.
But I suspect this checkpoint to be not legal as it wasn't close to a police station. ( as I tought it should be most of the time)
Before the search start, I took pictures of the checkpoint with my phone but the policeman delete it.
I had recover the pictures and I would like to know why the policeman was so angry that time about those pictures, while usually it is acceptable to do it on a checkpoint.

I find your story to have so many twists in it. First its courts then granny's with sticks then your taking your daughter. If you want advise spit the truth out. If your just here for justification on your actions by telling random but willing strangers part truths go get drunk its a better vent. If you want her that badly you will know how to get her. Something has been mentioned and you will know a price or a way to sort it out.

I guess you don t have a child born in thailand.

When the baby born in thailand, as a foreigner father, you don t have any rigths on your child....and for this, i have been to the court, with the agreement of the mom, to be the legal father.

Now the problem is that mother don twant me as the father....hope you get it now...

Its your child. I would suggest if the family want to take your child away from you take something away from them.

I missread this. It seems your mediation was with the police.

Wrong place.

Family court is the venue and they are generally pretty fair here.

I suggest applying for full custody and in court negotiat what you want.

The mediation was at the public prosecution office. Not in the police station.

I dont want that my daugther dont have her mother anymore. I dont even request the full custody. She needs her mom...but she need her father as well.

I dont want to go back to my home country, i ve settle my life here and my daugther is Thaie. I only ask for good education, and i m quite sure that the court will agree that its better in the interest of the child to go to an international school.

I believe that the legal way is the best, or problems will come back later for sure...

It all depends on the lengths you are willing to go to, to get her back.

It might just be about money, and if you agree to pay 20k a month you will get access, this figure is probably negotiable.

By the sounds of it she is only after a payday and you could probably negotiate an amount for full custody.

Her actions show she doesn't have the child's best interests at heart.

You can also go to court to get an order granting access.

She is obviously willing to fight dirty, you might also have to resort to underhand tactics.

I personally would do whatever I had to, to get my daughter back and I would never give up.

But i dont want to pay for the whole family only to have the rigths to visit my daugther...she might also move to an other place after 1 or 2 years or less.

By the way, i don tthink that she want to run away with the chikd as her mother and her 1st daugther are still in phuket. But i wondering wha kind of legal action she can do in bangkok and mot in phuket : change my daugther s name ? Change adress ? Applying to the court in bangkok ?.....

I would like to go by myself but i fear of the family as even the grand mother in phuket was aggressif to me when i wanted to take my child. she hit me with a stick on the head,while i was holding my daugther, i have a report from the hospital, but i didn t make a complain at the police station.

I m living in phuket for 6 years.

I had a baby with a thai women. We have been to the court to legalise my rigths as father in Thailand. That was a year ago, now we are separated for 3 weeks.

She made a complain to the police station that i didn take care of my daughter (2 years old). We had a mediation : she was asking for 20000thb/month.

I asked to have the guards of the child 3 days per week, to send her to international school (at my cost) and to pay for the bills of my daugther (only).

She refused all three topics, then she ran away before signing the report of the mediation. Officially, on the paper, she was not there... but i have recorded the unofficial mediation.

The following day, she ran away to bangkok according to her family in Phuket. I tried to call her, phone is open but no answer...i had report this to the police station.

What are my options ?

In Amsterdam, my home town we often see busloads of tourists. ALL asian tourists (yes, including Thais) bring their own tourguide, usually waving a little flag to keep the herd together. Even though there are Thai Dutchman that could easily do the job. So, if the Thai can "steal" jobs from us Farang, should not we be allowed to do the same especially because it makes sense to be adressed by someone in your own langage, rather than a Thai tourguide without proper english qualifications who has unintelligible english at the best of times.

You seems to forget that we come from rich country ! If Amsterdam allow foreign tour guide, why should thailand do the same ?! This is typical that the european want to put their rules in Asia...

Yeah ! that is a choice ? rice field or prostitution to get rich ! It s called modern slavery...and sexpats or sextourist are those who encourage this kind of slavery...telling the system : "yeah go on, send me more girls, this is the right choice" for the girls.

By the way, once the girls start to get rich, she (or her family) will have a higher level of living....and she will need to go on with this level by never stop having sex with other sextourists... she will need things she didn t need before, like her first Ipad, then after a while, it will be broken, she will need to buy new one, so need to sell her <removed> to an other man....etc...etc...etc...this is modern slavery.

Don't worry, Patts and Nana/Cowboy are (for the most part) safe, they're in the less than 1% legal category, but 100% more visible category ... it's the 10's of 1,000's of illegal THAI-only bars that most foreigners never see and that are where most of these bad things go on. A large proportion of which are owned/operated by the same politicians/police/military who are policing them.

There are venue owned by chinese that are far more illegal, disgusting, immoral, dirty, I dont have a good word...

Plus yes some karaoke that it is said "dangerous for farrang" to go. You can find bills on the internet from 20k thb to 120k thb payed by rich people. It s usual to read in the news that a karaoke venue has been putting down, and they find 2-3 minor girls,.etc...

By the way, there is so much misunderstanding about "prostitution" that I read here :

A "barfine" isn't prostitution.

Massage venue offers...massage. nobody knows what happen in the room. Same with a girl going to your room...nobody knows what happen...(even if everybody guess)

The only way to avoid street prostitution is that there is a complain with proof of it.

Go-go bars are legal, bars with ladydrinks are legal, everything that pay taxes would be "legal" ! What is illegal, is to have sex inside the venue, or to stay open after 2-3am ( depending on the area).

Paradise beach is the place where they make the Instructor Exams. (IDC) once a month.
Nui beach is interesting as well ( not Yanui, close to Phromtep). However, It look hard to get there, last time was with a longtail. But visibility was great and some ineresting things outhere too.
However, when we arrived there, the "owner" was telling us that it s forbidden to dive because "protected area"...we tried to explain that we dont want to destroy it...

Rent your gear, go down to rawai beach rent a longtail. Dive any of the close places for less than 3000 baht. Problem solved

Then it s not a shore dive anymore...

+ a beach dive with gear, tanks , weight (and instructor) cost only 1200thb.
