I see a few typists get upset by news that is really local but treated as national.
Example is all the news items about suicides, regular deaths, fist fights, and localized scams. We need to be aware that this type of news is really "local news" but when it is treated as huge national matters, people can mistakenly extrapolate these minor incidents as "national news."
These extrapolations have people making conclusions about the NATION Thailand from just local stuff. If there is an item that one foreigner jumped off a high balcony in suicide, it is incorrect to conclude that Thailand, the nation, is the world's capital for suicide. If a ladyboy snatches a wallet, that is local news and an error to conclude that all of Thailand is populated exclusively of thieving ladyboys.
It is illogical to take isolated, localized incidents as general rules for the whole nation, or even the continent.

You do not like soi dogs but when YOURS acts like one, you get upset if others treat it like a soi dog.
My 4 junkyard dogs stay inside the fence and no new dog can come in without being chewed badly or worse. Intruders deserve anything they get.

Your first and continuing mistake is not going to a DOCTOR. Why take a chance with your health?
Your diarrhea (this site has spell check) is dangerous in part due to it not correcting to normal. Then your self-treatment could easily be exactly the wrong med to take.
You have no choice..... go to a doctor.

Here they sell mainly outdated hardware at outrageous prices. Apart from the OS licence and guarantee, they are in computer terms light years behind latest developments in CPU,GPU and SSD's.
At least 3 years ago I bought in Europe an ASUS laptop with 18 inch screen, Intel i7 CPU,128 GB SSD, nVidea graphics and 1 TB hard disk for approximately a converted Baht 45.000.
Now 3 or 4 years later try to buy this in Thailand even in the well known shops, can't even obtain it with these specs let alone for this price.
The link shows item like that as discontinued. Link also shows a high end computer shop selling in Thailand.

Altho the plane is not there, this is not wasted money due to the new ocean bed mapping going on in an area previously untouched.

-how do youknow she is a Tom?
-how do you know she is HER Tom?
-do you know that non-sex worker type Thai girls will not go on a date without a trusted person also.
-how about a free meal for a friend?
etc etc.
I recommend you get another very trusted Thai friend of yours, you have one dont you? to meet the girl separately and interview her. Another Thai, especially a female Thai will smell her out fast and can report to you........... well maybe. You are on thin ice in a hot country.

Airplane had a package of anthrax misappropriated. USA wanted it back and Wood's job was to do that by taking over the airplane, forcing up so high to to, sorry, kill off all passengers, leaving cockpit crew and him. Forced to fly to Diego Garcia where the plane and the dead were sheep dipped, Wood put into detention, and a CDC contingent of poison experts flown to Diego Garcia. Some days later, media reported big, unusual anthrax potential exposure of CDC personnel; story just ends with that.
The package was stolen from the MV Maersk Alabama, USA flag, in the Seychelles when it was stolen via murder of its two ex SEALs guards, employed by Trident Group (Mark Daniel Kennedy, 43, and Jeffrey Keith Reynolds, 44).
P.s. Same ship Somali took over and movie made about captain rescue.

Waiting for the "waaa waaa - this is going to kill the tourism industry in Thailand" posts that usually follow any announcement that there will be a (one day) ban on alcohol sales.
Not sure what surprises me more, that the tourism industry in Thailand hasn't died, despite all of the different "no alcohol" days that happen every year, or the number of people who get so upset over the idea that the government won't let them buy booze on those days (and they apparently are totally unable to buy any in advance themselves). The horror, the HORROR !!
More postings are showing more often and getting vocal about nasty, negative messages on this venue. It is past time for the owners of it to simply crack down on worthless negative blather.

Meanwhile, back to topic.
What has surprised me in Thailand is the bitterness of expats on this forum.
I understand the idea of giving space to people to rant as a blowing off of steam, but when that is all a message is on thaivisa.com, I despair of the owners of the site. I guess some stalwart reads every word, geeee, but if so, so much of the bitter nastiness needs to be cleaned out of here. It does not inform any useful information. Why are such trash messages allowed?

How Red China kills, tortures, and represses Tibetans practicing Buddhism are more important than the slick Hollywood stuff.
See....
TIBET: MURDER IN THE SNOW, a very disturbing documentary with a live, unscripted camera on the Himalaya mt camp when the cameraman was able to film Red Chinese police shooting two people in a line of Tibetans walking in snow to get out of Chinese occupied Tibet. The nun, a teenage girl, was fatally injured, but the Chinese went to look over her body the next day, found her still breathing and kicked her into a snow ditch and walked away. The cameraman had to hide and has since been dogged by "someone" and tries to be low profile. The incident was witnessed by about one hundred climbers but only one went on camera to confirm the video... his climbing license was nullified by Chinese, ending his livelihood. Available on DVD; I have that and it is really chilling.... repression of Buddhism with Chinese bullets.
More titles on DVD...... HIMALAYA and TIBET: CRY OF THE SNOW LION.
Red China and N. Korea... and prisons.... are the only places that kill people trying to depart.
I have a series of smaller documentaries about the repression of Buddhism in Red China on the YouTube channel k4vud... more coming soon.

I thought "The Matrix" (the first one) was a pretty good movie about Buddhism :-)
Sorry, but you saw a mish mash bit of manure, a teenie and pre teen confusion.

I put on two notices describing the negative factors, in my opinion, of motorbikes and motorbikers. I was officially warned and threatened with expulsion from thaivisa. My expressions of disdain were tempered by proper language and definitely issued as my opinions. I have seen much more crass and even nasty comments about Thai women on this site but those sail on and on. I must be honest; I still believe the world would be better if motorbikes only came with side cars, which would force them to be more like regular vehicles and also give extra passengers a more proper place to sit. Bicycles need their own trails and should be fined for mixing with normal traffic.
My opinion.

Inside gated, but not guarded, mooban in Nakhon Pathom........... witnessed by home resident........
TOT official painted truck carries men who steal a device for street lights and then some distance of the copper wire that run the street lights.
Daytime theft but no one reported them due to official TOT truck.
Dont tell location because now there are no crime-preventing street lights on.

Gosh, what would a person be doing in Thailand or even Asia with an delicate expensive rare dog? Pardon but dogs in this category are meant today for luxury condos in Manhattan clutched by bored matrons spending the early-dead husband's money.
Dogs for Thailand are taken up asap after seeing a soi dog mom give birth and let the little tyke get a few weeks growth. Soi dogs eat anything and live, present not a sliver of theft danger, and will love you actually long time.

Count the unjustified slags on Thailand and Thai air.
BUCKLE UP all the time and make the fat folks around you do same or they will land on you coming back down from a bump. Even a baby in arms can break your neck at velocity. All passengers buckled, then only crew gets to bounce around........ watch for them coming down, too.

It is the fate of all religions to be corrupted with time.
BTW what is "Thai" Buddhism?
Thailand does have a somewhat unique practice of Buddhist, probably enough to have that label, "Thai Buddhism." This is likely true especially if you add Theravada Buddhist school which is practiced here and is different in the finer points from, say, Tibetan Buddhism or Zen.

The most direct answer to your question is a Ph.D. The doctoral level, including Doctor of Education, "certificate"/diploma is much desired because language schools can claim such highly degreed faculty as a selling point.
If the earned doctorate is in the field the person is teaching, likely the paperwork justification for hiring will be rather automatic--mine was.
Note, there is a possible Ph.D. in English, but very unlikely in "teaching English as a language" although linguistics as a field is the study of English (or other) but not likely "the teaching of." One of my M.A.s is in English, but not teaching it.
Regardless of the certificate, my experience indicates that teaching English to Thai of any age is one of the most difficult intellectual jobs a person can take on. There are a very few "natural teachers," but the vast majority of native English speakers I meet who teach here are mostly, if not totally, not qualified. The multiple edge sword here is that the English teachers are poor (foreign and domestic), the schools' standards are mostly geared to getting paying (or happy) customers, and the Thai students are almost universally resistant to the idea and the doing. I claim that the two biggest problems with Thailand, on a day to day basis, is the severe lack of English and the abysmally low response time to emergencies by Thai police.
I tried very hard to write this statement in Standard English; I hope it can be read.

Unless there is a fan, there is no benefit to keep a motorbike running.
This same is true for a car or pickup but some have fans connected to a timer and the fan continues running for a while after the engine is shut down. I suspect the fan is on a real timer and not thermostatically controlled to run based on the heat. In either case, just turning the car off to cope with heat is the best practice and if it has an automatic fan function, it will take care of itself. Emergency over-heat is different.
I encountered a taxi driver in Moscow who turned off his headlights between each stop sign and the next one. He explained that was to save the headlamps because headlamps were difficult to get. I asked him if he could easily get on-off headlamp switches. No answer.
I held back from noting that frequent turning on of incandescent lamps shortens their functional life.
Otherwise, leaving a motor running when it is likely to charge up its battery does make sense, but only at a motor speed where the alternator provides more charging than the battery is discharging to keep the motor running. Alternators, rather than generators, are supposed to generate enuf even at low speeds.
Old carburetor car users sometime felt that a sharp acceleration of the motor just prior to shut off would flood the system with fuel that would be there ready to assist the next start up. That did not account for evaporation of the fuel nor the possible flooding if lots of liquid fuel is present next start-up.

I think this man is living out a lifetime dream. It appears his contract can show that he is aware of the risks of ownership and relationship matters. Certainly, caution is appropriate, but blanket condemnation of him and his girl is way out of line and embarrassing to the typists taking this attitude.
No one here can know the real situation. Kneejerk condemnations and negative comments should be banned from this adult venue.

thaivisa contradiction:
One set of rants complaining about drunken drivers.
Another set of rants complaining about locked alcohol drinks for certain hours.
Conclusion... thaivisa lives on its core ranters, otherwise could never sell an ad due to no participants.
And, another rant that is ranting about rants.
Smearing Thai women
in Ladies in Thailand
Posted
What I have found by reading all the smearing of Thai women is how many immature, clueless, selfish, and dogmatic are many men, to generalize like is done on Thai women..... especially Brit and Aussie men. By far, the fault for nearly all the older foreigner man/younger Thai woman for failure is the MAN'S FAULT.
Examine the details of the stories and see.
