That java script did not work for me...
Dammit; I had original XP on my laptop and some jerk back home fixed a crash by doing a re-install with non licenced... Now I will have to re-install the original but I understand I will have some challenges with that too, due to the xp version I have now having SP2 build in...
Cheers!

Axel; thanks and that was my understanding too. Which is why I am a bit confused about the warnings that I have bumped into several places. Stickman is one page where I found that. Cheers!

While doing my research about the legal way to obtain long stay visa here I often run into warning comments along the lines of "the dodgy ads in Bangkok Post" Etc. selling/offering visas/work permits.
When I look in the paper it all looks like fairly legit legal companies offering their services for obtaining visas/wp the legal and correct way (which is what I want!).
That makes me wonder whether in the not distant past, there were actually companies "selling" visas/wps? One of the comments was that while they were obtained in a "special" way, they were the real thing - I.e. not fakes in any way.
Was this companies "selling" a "position" or how did it function? Or are they really refering to the ads I see in BKK Post every day!?
Cheers!
Ps. not refering to the dodgy document visa-run service (without you in person) here.

Or maybe it is a simple price enquiry?

Sounds like a couple of aspirins might be wise prior to the procedure.
Cheers!

Good question. I was thinking the same thing.
One way is to not have the sponsor doc say "potential employment" but rather "looking for/researching investment oppurtunities" I guess in corporation with the sponsor company.
Some consulates seems to be very relaxed about issuing the 12 mth non-em b visas just based on a foreign (little) company letterhead saying that this person will look for business oppurtunities (or export products Etc.) in Thailand.
Cheers!

Wonder how they all got their non-em b 12 month multiple entry visas!
-
They initially wanted to give me a single entry only. I pushed a bit and got the multiple. Don't know the price yet as had some office staff arrange but will know in a week. Do they really do non-em b with double entry? I thought it was simply single or multiple (unlike tourist visa).
Further; in another thread a Brit managed to get a 12 mth (NOT just 3 month) multiple non-em b in Penang simply based on his own (little) company letterhead signed by himself! And in houston a similar letter is ALSO enough for a 12 month non-em b - while here in Hanoi they wanted sponsor company info on directors/tax payments and all that .
Cheers!

It was taken from here: http://www.dailyreckoning.com/Writers/Butl...icles/0801.html
I read Daily Reckoning most days with my morning coffee. Smart people but like to bring up doomsday scenarios so mix it slightly with the always bullish talking heads on CNBC and you have a nice cocktail!

Man, there is such a big difference on what the embassies/consulates require. Reading the linked homepage any business (even my own) letter will work for the non-em b visa. Difference is probably whether one gets a non-em b multiple entry visa for 12 months with a "good sponsorship" (Thai/established) compared to a little foreign biz...?
Cheers!

I now got a multiple entry 3 month non-em B visa from Thai consulate in Hanoi... go figure....

Hi Natalie!
I see lots of aircleaners with build in ionizers (see the Sharp brand) in all the malls. Also saw a cool fan with build in ionizer in Homepro and elsewhere. Ionizers ALONE (not build in) I have not seen very often. Cheers!

I have been driving motorbikes in Thailand before, but do only hold my foreign+international CAR drivers license.
How would I go about obtaining a Thai motorcycle drivers license from scratch? I.e. I do not hold any motorcycle drivers license currently.
Cheers!

If it is a multiple entry (3 month) visa you will normally be able to stretch it to 6 months by doing one visa run. I think that was your question. Cheers!

I missed the party (dammit!) so was really hoping for a few pics - not much have ben supplied... sniffle...

Where is that 89B BBQ again? Cheers!

Fine with me Harmonica.
Only issue is that we might not disagree that much. I say that in the LONG run supply/demand will ensure oil goes up. That does not leave out shorter term oppurtunities for an active trader like you.
Cheers!

I have had the Acer 2001WLCI for about 2 years and I have generally been happy with it, but like Goddess of Whatever I DID have ONE major crash, naturally when I needd it the most (travelling). Could have been the software though. Cheers!

I am with you on commodities futures! Most lose - but a few do win!
PCRIX is enough for me there, but I have before used the International (stock) ETF XLE for some oil stock exposure. Always long though...
Cheers!

Not bad Swedish!
I believe that oil prices (in the long run) can only go one way; up. Us living here in Asia see the growing demand every day. The average Chinese and Indian use 1 barrel of oil/year. In the Western world we use about 25 barrels!
Cheers!

"-- I think we are going up for the LAST TIME in history!"
So you are saying that oil will NEVER break $62 again? What gives you that idea?
Also; what vehicle do you use to actually go long/short oil?
I am currently (long) in the Pimco commodities fund PCRIX.
Cheers!
Non-im B: Getting More Than One
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I hope others will jump in with some replies, but I would not worry putting my X in Business or Meeting/Conference.
I have not heard about anyone having problems after the visa is issued, but maybe somebody else have some stories?
One thing I foresee is problems showing what one is living of. 2-3 years in Thailand on 12 mth non-em B based on invite/sponsorship from company might tricker some thoughts about tax evasion I guess? Not that I have heard cases about that either. Anyone? Cheers!
