Yes you should go to the bank , they will make a change in the banking systems in reference to valid ID document. Easy and won't take long

This school is a joke , the director is a great person and she is suffering for the poor management and the extremely greedy owner with no communication skills. I pulled out my child already in the end of January and he has been in the school for 4 terms, and at school start, January 9 2017 the wanted to have the school bus fare as the same amount as a full term 12000 THB and I said the term is only 9 weeks instead of 18 and that was then stupid as you can be sometimes so I paid 7500 THB that for 14 schooldays , apparently the have added two more weeks as of now but that won't add up to 18 weeks , they still want 63000 THB the whole term fee to release the documents , I can assure you this won't happened . The whole School will suffer a lot and I feel so sorry for all the students and parents. I already put my son in another International school here in Pattaya and he loves it and very affordable . if you find out that you want more info send me a private mail

Dear all
I went to Jomtien Immigration Thursday for an extension of stay for another year (Retirement) using the income method from the embassy. And what seemed to be asked here frequently on Thai Visa , when can I do it.The answer is ... You can to do the extension up to 45 days before the previous extension expire according to the IO, very nice and professional IO , it took less than 10 minutes, and pick up of passport Friday after 10 AM
Jomtien Immigration is get better and better, I'm so impressed of what happened during the last two years. I want to give them all a golden star...

Thanks Joe for the a prompt reply as always , I will post the outcome in the end of the week I'm going IMG. on Thursday.
Sorry but I have a couple questions that I forgot in my posting.
- What are the document requirements for extension (Retirement) got the income letter from the embassy and what else?
- What are the document requirements for extension to (Dependent child now on ED visa ext.) beside birth certificate which don't exist in Sweden but I got the certificate of paternity from the embassy .
Thanks in advance...

I got two questions regarding extensions.
Does anyone know if you can do an extension based upon Retirement 6 weeks before the old one expires at Jomtien Immigration.
If you have an extension of stay based upon Studies (Non Immigrant ED) and change school during the year do you need to cancel the old one and get a new one for the new school.
Thankful for help.

Hello. I got a paternity certificate from the Swedish Consulate here in Pattaya, birth certificates was abolished in Sweden 45 years ago as of now everything is controlled by the Swedish Tax Administration (IRS) , do you think this document will do it ?
Happy new Year / Stefan

It's an extension based upon retirement . My extension expires in mid March and his early February. And I will of course extend mine prior to the expiration date. Correct me if I'm wrong, first an extension for my son until mine expire, and in March I a new retirement extension for myself and at the same time an extension for my son as a dependent child.
Greatly appreciated and many thanks Joe

My son 14 years old Swedish Citizen is now on his first extension of stay here in Thailand. His stepmother is Thai but i don't think that matters. Do anyone know if his next extension can be based on dependency on myself, his father. It's always a hassle to do it with the school administration and they not do it for free.

I recently got a new passport and went to immigration to get stamps transferred . I'm on my first extension and came to Thailand on a non immigrant VISA class O-A.
Yesterday I spoke to a friend from Australia that did the same thing at Jomtien Immigration, he is on retirement extension as well, and what he told me that he got a new VISA sticker in his new passport. I'd like to know if anyone can verify this

There is a mini bus service from Pattaya to Poi Pet with a change of bus at the Cambodian side taking you to Siem Reap . You can buy a package ticket forth and back at Pattaya Klang just before the Beach Road on the right hand side if you ar facing the sea. It was a good experience we did it a year ago... The trip is about 7 hours...
Regards and enjoy...

If you pay the full amount that you owe the bank on the next bill , you usually don't pay any interest , if there is a fee I'm not sure about but it sounds reasonable only if the card is from another bank...
3 hours ago, TulipBulb said:Absolutely not the case with almost all credit cards, domestic or foreign; as has been said elsewhere above, with cash advances, interest accrues at the rate applicable to your individual card from the moment you withdraw cash from an ATM. That is typically anywhere from 16 to 25% APR. Together with the standard fee for cash withdrawal of around 3-4%, it's an expensive - though sometimes convenient or emergency - way to get cash fast.
The good news is that any repayment you make to the credit card account will first be used to pay off any cash advances, and only when that is cleared will debt for any purchases you made earlier start to be repaid.
Pay off that cash advance debt as fast as possible to avoid heavy interest payments.
Well I don't know where are coming from but tis is not the case in Scandinavia , you don't pay any interest if you pay your bill in full , that is ...

Hello all, a little bit of confusion here, I'm going to do my yearly extension in a couple of months based upon income letter. I live in Pattaya and came in to Thailand with a O-A Visa and are about to do my second extension of stay , do I need to go to Bangkok to get my income letter from the consulate here in Pattaya notarized ? if so it would be great to have the address in Bangkok for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . Thanks in advance...

Not convincing. Thai partners wouldn't usually be involved in OA visas and have no concept of what I'm asking. Often immigration officers have no idea about Thai embassies abroad and even more vice versa. Just not buying how you're trying to whitewash this
Check this link and you know what it is, I got one myself.

Why does most of you have so much to worry about, wait until you get the correct requirements from Immigration, as of now it's just speculations, until there are some real facts ,just relax and enjoy the weekend . If this is the fact as someone mentioned that it will be implemented from December 1, all of us will know in 5 days

What is the process and requirement at immigration for transfer stamps to the new passport along with the letter from the embassy. Is there any charge to do this?
-
No work permit is needed to get a car financed by third party, if you are on an OA Visa or extension for sure.

Immigration is harassment, plain and simple. They need to collect their fees, issue the visas and extensions and LEAVE US ALONE!!!
Why don't you leave Thailand alone instead, I'm sure you would feel much better.

Stick to their rules, it's not our country, everyone is free to leave the kingdom if you don't like it, so many complains for nothing. Many of these responses want me to say get a life dude. Try to get in to a Schengen country and live there and you will see that Thailand is like a breeze.

Is it possible to cancel an extension of stay at Immigration? Here is some background information. May wife is Thai and also hold a Swedish citizenship, and when we moved permanently to Thailand two years ago she was forced to use her Swedish passport with a non-immigrant visa. She was applying for a new Thai passport (the old was expired) in Sweden but hence to her name change after we were married, The Thai Embassy in Sweden couldn’t issue a new passport to her just because of the name change and they stated she had to start the name changing process at her local amphoe in Thailand to get a new Thai ID with correct name and after that get a new passport here. Now she has to go to Immigration every year and get a new extension for 1900 THB and they are saying as soon as she fly out with her Swedish passport it would get resolved and they suggest always to use her new Thai passport when she enter Thailand, I feel it very strange that they can’t do it in Thailand, and why should a Thai national have to deal with visa extensions and shell out 1900 THB every time.
Is Anyone have this experience of a similar matter.
I'm on vacation for 8 days, what to do when I enter my home in Thailand
