TAT supporting sustainable tourism through Thailand Privilege Card
mjakob007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Burp ???????? When the country re-opened in July 2020 after lockdowns, these VIPs were told they are holders of 'tourist visa' and hence denied entry even with the rigorous 'Certificate of entry' program. Elite were made to wait until the 3rd or 4th tranche of foreigners were announced in October 2020. Elite card holders would have felt really special after parting with 1-2MB -
kerry or J & T - less expensive

Most of the ATM cards issued by banks in south asian countries can only be used in the country of issuance. india has quite stringent forex controls as is the case with thailand. atm cards issued by BKK bank (master card logo), cant be used overseas. Moreover, indian punters wont want to leave any tracks of their activates in Pattaya. Did we not read of a dude who tore off pages of his passport where he had thai immigration stamp!!!

Unfortunately for those keyboard warriors, majority of visitors to pattaya these days appear to be indians! Most of those punters who allege xenophobia here, continue to do the same against Russians, Indians, Chinese, or anybody else who does not belong to the clan! Isnt it legit to possess upto to $10,000 for international travel for most countries. We see regular allegations of insurance scams being the intent behind the claim of losses. Have we heard of any claims being paid out for these claims in Pattaya? Several years back, i forgot my wallet in the business center of a major hotel chain, realized the mistake rushed back in less than 5 min (biz center to room on elevator and realized i forgot the wallet downstairs) and found it was gone. Hotel did a sham of investigation and 'couldn't' find it, as that area of the biz centre was not covered by cctv.... and of course ins claim was denied.

While walking along the sidewalk in front of pattaya night market (across from view talay condo), two blokes who appear to be pakistani or indian, made a comment about my bald head in broken english. Made me curious as one of my buddies had been conned recently and had narrated his experience. For lack of nothing better to do during the afternoon, i played along. This is how is goes, - they get your attention by commenting about your bald head, - if you take that bait, he shows photos of his bald head in the past! And tada... he has thick hair now! - Tells you its very easy, get pure coconut oil, mix a, b, c herbs and apply on your head for 1 month and its all magic...???? So i asked him for details of the a, b & c. I could not grasp his prescription and the kind gentlemen took me to a herbal product shop in the pattaya night market. The shop appears to be similar to a hemp shop, but has 100s of bottles or cans with supposed herbs. its manned by an asian guy & a thai lady. So i went on to buy a small bottle of cocunut oil which was only 120 baht. thats where my experience stops as i was not ready to part with more money. From my buddies experience, he lost in excess of 40,000baht. apparently the herbs, a, b & c are priced 50, 120, 1800 baht per gram and he was prescribed to buy 12 gms based on his age & weight ????. the price of the most expensive herb 'c' is not disclosed until the 'a' & 'b' is mixed in the coconut oil you bought off them. Has anybody else come across this scheme? if not, this can be heads up for any others that may be approached in future.

Thailand Seriously Bids to host Expo 2028 in Phuket They had to convince us... hence 'seriously' -
misterprakan is a broker and gives us option to choose insurer based on the variables we want. ie deductible, valuation of asset, dealer or garage repair, add ons such as 'compulsory ins' for registration, roadside assistance. Roojai premiums were lower than MP, but thier valuation of the car was some 20-25% below the market value, which was a major consideration for me. I have not attained the 70 years threshold, so that was not a problem. Thank you very much for all the contributions.

Has anybody used broker Misterprakan for car insurance? How was the experience?

If Biz class, Qatar is better value for money these days. EK business class has dropped the ball badly in the past few years. Both of them have A380 flying between BKk & middle east. EK has 3 flights between BKK & ME is the only upside on EK. IF economy, I would rate both of them at par, with EK offering multiple flights, comes flexibility & pricing
