    Given that some 15-18% of the local populace being of chinese origin, they already have means to own land through different 'vehicles'. I feel this backing out, will have a negative impact on the image on the investment climate of the country.

    I remember reading, the largest contingent of foreign inmates at the bkk hilton were from Nigeria by far. In most cases, they are just the tail-end of the supply chain. The big guys are living the life.

    You hit the nail on the head. Most of the retailers in Bali were smaller outfits who may not be able to 'price-fix', unlike lotus, tops, big c etc here, who are able to control retail behavior as a few biz houses are in charge of everything.
