I don’t expect anything of you. Those old wives tales have an updated version spouted by the antivax conspiracy peddlers many of whom populate this forum. As for the UK, yeah Covid is largely ignored now, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone away. On the contrary a few of my family members have had it again and a teacher friend in Sheffield is on her 4th time now. All fully vaccinated and although some have been quite sick probably not as severely as they might have been. Over here there are still far more cases than we’re ever told about if my Thai friends are correct. From my observations almost all Thais in the places I go still wear masks but almost none of the tourists do, Asian or otherwise. Personally the only time I don’t wear a mask is outdoors when it’s a quiet street or park. I just don’t have an issue with a bit of cloth, never have.

You clearly go around with your eyes to the floor. People in Bangkok were wearing masks years ago, long before Covid. It was more obvious during the cool season when pollution was at it worst and visible in the hazy skies.

No, some us wear them to reduce the risk. Nothing to do with compliance or brainwashing or being told what to do. The obsession comes from those of you who chose to ignore the facts and made mask wearing political. That weird trend started in America (no surprise there) and spread to other western countries.

I do this route regularly too and I find that the return to BKK is always a bit slower than leaving. I leave BKK around 9.30-10.00 am and coming back around the same so I’m into the construction around 11am. It’s always busy but manageable. Last Tuesday however was the worst I’ve experienced in a long time. I’ve tried all the other routes but never seen any real benefit.

I’ve been using the UKexpat VPN for a few years now and although there have been issues occasionally I’ve always managed to resolve them with the help of great customer service. All that seems to have changed now and they’ve recently (over an issue with Sky News Live) been unhelpful to the point of being rude. So I’m ready to leave if I can find a reliable alternative. I realise free is unlikely, but I’m looking for suggestions based on your own experience and knowledge. Thanks in advance.

I haven’t done a TM30 since all the fuss that went on 4 or 5 years ago. Pre Covid I travelled out of Thailand around every 4-6 weeks but post Covid just 3 times in the last 12 months. Within Thailand I always check into hotels with my pink card. I have no idea where I stand with TM30 now.
