Yeah Petcherat are still operating, I use them to go to the Full Moon Party sometimes, they have a good VIP service so you don't have to queue up and safe boat drivers.

Wish this weather would clear up so I can go flying

She can have access to the beach if she go down on a just a small passage opposite Tara hotel. Many beach vendors go that way

Thank's for this info, been trying to find a way onto that beach without going through a hotel

As for the OP, are think the hotel are allowed to stop anyone regardless of nationality from walking through their private property to get access to the beach.

Just noticed a nice new sign outside Tesco Lotus Chaweng stating all the fares!

Here are some of the fares stated:

Tesco to Chaweng - 300 Baht

Tesco to Lamai - 500 Baht

Tesco to Big C - 200 Baht

Round the Island - 2,000 Baht

This sort of crime really must be stamped out, it was not so prevalent before.

It's always been going on, we are just more aware of these types of incidents now because of social media and the internet.

Looks like their marketing worked, lesson learnt.

The Police/Army would not let the competition go ahead, there were still Flyboard demonstrations from the World Champion later in the afternoon.

I have asked 3 people who have used taxis in the last week, all told, meter not working, one paid 400baht from lamai to chaweng, driver wanted 500

Is there any one making good quality pork sausages at a good price around 220 baht a Kilo on Samui , is it worth starting a Business over here doing this .

I can make upto 20 different types of sausages, with real pork skins not the synthetic type.

There is an English Lady that has just started a business in Lamai making them, mainly for wholesale, much nicer than the ones in Makro and a bit cheaper.

On Lamai Beach tomorrow in front of Swing Bar there is a Flyboard competition and beach party, they have the current world champion going.

Question - An elderly American lady who told me she runs a business in Thailand was doing a border bounce, even she didn't know why she has to do it (she was a bit lala), she thinks it's because she doesn't employ enough Thai staff?? She said she renews her Visa one a year back in America, so what type of Visa would she be on and why does she have to do visa runs??

Why didn't you ask her ??

 

She was a little bit La La (crazy) IMO and I didn't really want to engage her in too much conversation with fear of being her best friend for the day haha

So yesterday I did a Visa run (Border Bounce) with a reputable Visa run company down to Malaysia to activate the final part of my  tourist visa.

Everything went well and all of us were allowed back into Thailand, nobody had to show proof of onward flight, 20,000 baht or any of nonsense that some have mentioned, (I took money and onward flight ticket just to be on the safe side)

A few things I observed:

There was an Ozzy girl who was on overstay due to having a problem doing a visa run earlier in the week (I noticed she had 2 passports) The thing that struct me as crazy (and all the other guys on the bus) was the way this girl was dressed bearing in mind she was visiting an immigration office where she had already had a problem.  She was not a small girl and had a dress that left little to the imagination, her enormous tits almost flopping out of her dress (no bra).

One elderly German guy who had obviously been drinking all night prior to being picked up at 3am in the morning, stank of booze and BO, shirt completely undone until the owner of the Visa run company told him to smarten himself up.

The last Visa run I did there was a Brit in the same drunken state  ended up having a drunken argument with immigration staff because he had not gone to the correct window to be stamped out of Malaysia  prior to attempting to re-enter Thailand.

FFS show some respect and dress appropriately when visiting immigration, your actions reflect badly on all of us!
