Wasn't there a traditional Thai crackdown on seasonal beer gardens a year or two back? I seem to remember the local fascisti thought that Bangkok was becoming too much of a fun hub.
That was just for one year because of the mourning period. I visited the winter beer gardens last year, good places to chill out while the Mrs goes shopping.

Anyone know when the winter beer gardens open around Siam Square? And when the xmas decorations go up?

Travelling To England - Exchange cash here, there or use Thai ATM Card?
I only have a Thai ATM card, is it better to buy sterling here, or wait until I am in uk? Or just use my ATM card while I am there?

Been looking for a cheap run around for the GF, in the end I opted for a brand new 2018 Yaris (new style), waiting for delivery now.
-
The new Yaris looks good, anyone have one yet? Haven't seen any on Samui yet.

Don't suppose you happened to find out when the 2018 model was coming out ?
I didn't know they were bringing out a 2018 model, the 2017 hasn't been out long and as they have just bought out some new colours I think you might be waiting a while
-
Went to Yamaha shop on Samui today, there are new colours (red and silver/blue ABS models)available but didn't have any in stock. 78,900 for ABS and 71,900 for R version

Is it possible to get a new Multiple-entry non-immigrant 'B' visa in the UK?
Will be going to UK in June so would rather do it there than making a trip to Penang.
(business owner with work permit and Non-B for last 3 years)

Never done Fisherman village / Bophut Friday or Monday markets... too hard to find parking!
Maenam once in a blue moon is enough! Same vendors for the most part.
The new markets in Ban Kao (Saturday's on the beach) and the one at the big Chinese temple near Wat Thanon (Wednesdays) are very good with different stalls and good for photos

I thought I knew pretty well all the places to see on Samui ... but don't know the boat with the Buddha 1minute.16 seconds into the video.
Boph[ut Temple (at the traffic lights) , it is quite new

Anyone had success renewing their Non B visa in Singapore, HK or KL (company director with WP)
Would prefer to fly to one of these from Samui rather than do the mini bus to Penang
-
Anyone have any experience renewing their Non-B visa (as a company director) in Singapore, Hong Kong or KL recently?
Bangkok airways have a special offer on flights to these locations from Samui

AwesomeNew Phantom 4 Pro, 12 shots stitched together

Had a look at one today, love the styling, seating position was ok for me at 5',10" but could do with being a little bit bigger.
Did not order because they were asking 71,900 for the R version and 81,500 for the ABS version, will take a look at a bigger Yamaha dealership on Samui to see if they will do a better price.

What happened to all the signs they were putting up after the last few incidents ???
Out of sight out of mind I guess for the people who's job it was to make them up !!
There are signs all along the beach.
People were still playing in the water yesterday, including parents with their babies.

Philthebook.
Excuse me phil but if you are refering to my place.
It was by no means a little beer bar.
If you are not, then a thousand apologies.
Not at all KKD, the article is a bit misleading calling it a bar, it is a beach club complete with swimming pool that hosts large events with an entry fee (as it was on the night of the raid)
-
btw, we are not talking about some little beer bar, the place that got raided is a large successful beach club that has been running since 2013 I believe and the owner has plenty of experience, he must have had a good reason for going to the authorities.
5 star resorts on Koh Samui for a wedding
in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao

I have filmed over a 100 weddings on Samui (I have a drone company here), all the venues put on amazing weddings but personally I prefer more private venues, rather than on public beaches. So from your initial choices I would suggest Silavadee as it is on a private beach.
If it was me though, I would choose a private beach villa such as Villa Kalayana who specialize in weddings and give that real personal touch.
