  1. This reports reads like the U.S. aviation authority have just turned up and carried out a surprise inspection they came 6 months ago gave a yellow card and handed a detailed report of Thailand's shortcomings and what needs to be addressed in order to prevent a red card and possible ban on all Thai airways flights. this order was given 6 months ago yet nothing changed apart from setting up a committee to discuss it, then another committee to discuss the previous committee's findings etc etc. So this year a downgrade on trafficking, now aviation and in a few weeks EU Wil decide on fish exports

  2. Teflon Thailand nothing sticks

Warning over human trafficking no problem, scores of police transferred for their roles. Thailand " we are taking the problem seriously we have let all those involved keep their jobs and pensions we have just moved them to a different office.

Fishing industry is facing a European ban they are on a yellow card for fishing regulations and human trafficking

The aviation authority is also on a yellow card for safety issues

  3. A very big step to come over here with no savings to fall back on yes it may suck where he is now but at least he has free health care and social security to fall back on here he will have the shirt on his back if things don't work out. If he has no degree his job opportunities are very limited, he will likely find some work in a private school in the provinces but money will be low and they make you work for every baht. Also teaching is not for everyone you can push it out if you are just on a gap year from university but different story if you need to put food on the table, he will likely make about 650 quid a month which is okay compared to Most Thai wages. But this is not a jet set lifestyle its basic living from pay check to paycheck. E.g. he will need health insurance which will sting him about 1500 baht per month rent about 5000, motorbike on finance 2000 baht per month, electricity 1000-2000 depending on Air con, water 300 baht, beer if enjoys 2 after work each day and few more at weekend's at home 5000 per month, internet 500 per month food is quite cheap, toiletries are super expensive then you have visa runs, 90 day reporting work permits etc etc so a nice quiet life is possible but if he likes the bar scene forget it

  4. in response to Davidsto1 remarks,

    DeDefinition of Criminal Damage

A person is guilty of an offence if without lawful excuse he destroys or damages property belonging to another or is reckless as to whether any such property would be destroyed or damaged shall be guilty of an offence

Mock all you like David but this would be a slam dunk case

Did the building have holes in the walls when you rented it .. no

Did you drill holes in the wall.. Yes

Did you have owners consent... no

Did you gave a lawful excuse.. no

    Case done

  5. I am a landlord and put these on my houses as standard but if you added them without my consent you would lose your deposit even with my consent I would be checking the removal work with a fine tooth co be, however I would be willing to purchase them off you if they are quality. T hoses bolts on the widows are serious merchandise designed to keep thieves out so will make a mess when removed. Approach landlord with a deal or risk loss of deposit and possible criminal damage charges

  6. No good counting on tourism to save the economy especially as all the worlds eyes are on Thailand it has a PR nightmare with the Khao Tao case which will put many tourists off coming, the military government will make people change holiday destinations, Thai aviation authority has been classed as unsafe, a dreadful human trafficking report, drought, rice pledging scheme, facing European ban on seafood exports, factories closing, huge household debts, ever changing immigration rules, falling gold prices, Thailand spent years targeting Russian tourists then their economy tanked so moved on to the Chinese tourists just as their economy might be in trouble, Thailand somehow manages to survive problems but happy thoughts just won't cut it

  7. The new animal cruelty laws were necessary but they don't tackle the problems of stray dogs, they are bloody everywhere in this country but the problem is pretty much ignored until people reach breaking point and like this guy snap and attack the dog. They are allowed to run wild in the streets attacking people and their pet's, ripping open bins and spreading rubbish in the streets, noisy barking all night, carrying disease and infestations to humans and family pets. I personally carry a few pebbles in my pockets if walking anywhere. If all that wasn't enough they are often in a he'll of a mess due to mange etc, bring out laws on pet ownership compulsory microchips a license fee paid annually. District pounds similar to in the west, punishment for allowing dogs to roam the streets. I have had dogs all my life, worked with them for many years in the army and currently own 11 dogs and would have called myself a dog lover until I came to Thailand and experienced the problems with stray dogs running wild making people's lives miserable

  8. Think you will find that you can not change from ed extension to a retirement visa in country. You will either have to do a border run and return on a tourist visa exemption or visit a local Thai embassy or consulate to obtain it. Not sure what country you are from but if not a G7 country you will get only a 15 day entry from a land crossing and this will not be enough time, as in order to change from a tourist to another type of visa you require a full 14 days remaining on the exemption stamp.

  9. I am from the central region the governments solution to the water shortage and farmers being unable to grow rice...... Don't plant rice grow vegetables instead ok less water used than rice farming so may work, other choice was for all the farmers to start fish farming where the he'll did they expect the water to come from to fill and maintain these newly dug ponds when some areas have not water for household usage. Don't know where the find some of these civil servants but need to put them back because they are clowns

  10. Question. ...these provinces are up river of Bangkok so why are they suffering yet the people of the capital have no water shortage... This is a large country but the provinces always have to suffer to keep the Metropolitan wheel turning...

  11. This should be the highest priority for immigration instead of making life as difficult as possible for those law abiding citizens who do not fall into certain brackets for a long term visa, use the resources to hunt, detain and return these criminals home to face criminal proceedings. Could be quite profitable as i suspect many will have rewards for ibformation leading to their arrest.

  12. I have just padlocked one of my houses shut Thai couple renting are continually late paying rent always a new excuse. This month same again I th usual promises. This month they stated were down south at a funeral but have been witnessed coming to the house in the dead of night to move stuff out, they are in hiding from creditors and are nearly 2 months behind in rent plus bills that they have not paid. Enough is enough locked house up with all their big items locked inside before they could borrow a van and skip town

  13. Don't start towing the Thai line "there's nothing that can be done about it" there is always something that can be done about it. If this is the village officials go to tambon head make it clear that if nothing is done you go to amphur office then provincial then Army and press. It's theft plain and simple and if the government officials are in on it let them face charges. Nothing will change until the T.I.T mentality of everyone living here changes.

  14. Ah gender discrimination alive and well in Thailand lol.

On a serious note you will need to go to the UK Embassy to obtain a affirmation to marry certificate this then needs to be translated by the ministry of interior with this you can then get married in local amphur office. When you have your marriage certificate you can then apply at your local immigration office for non o visa based on marriage

    you will need

    passport copies all stamps

    husbands I'd card copy

    Copies of both marriage certificates

    Husbands house book

    freedom to Marry translation

    map showing where you live

pics of you and husband sitting on bed and standing at front of house

    passport photos

    application form

not sure about money for female marrying Thai guy but others seem to know about that

    and lastly your visa fee

you will be given a month extension initially and told to return on certain date to collect 11 month non o.

You can get a work permit when you are married but usual rules apply

  15. Think people need to lay off Wikipedia about gun manufacture you are losing the point. Cost should not be a factor these are war weapons and could be used to cause huge loss of life, my concern is not how much it costs to replace them, it's Why the he'll is security so lax when weapons are Involved. I left the army few years back and weapon security was crazy, weapons counted at start of day @
