Yep if he gets fined 20,000 he is still 30,000 under what it could cost him, or even 1 year inside.

Idiotic and abusive enforcement of the lockdown rules. On-the-spot fines of 1,000 or 2,000 baht and sending home would be completely adequate in these circumstances, but you can't expect Thai laws or Thai police to be sensible.
The warning notice was clear. They chose to ignore it, repeatibly. Their own fault I am afraid.

And that justifies to extort 50000 THB corruption payment from them?
The notice on the beach clearly states offenders "could face 1 year imprisonment or up to 100,000 baht fine". He got off light

His visa did not expire May 15th, but his permission to stay did. But in any case his stay is extended to 31st July under the emergency measures. So its a non issue and certainly not worth 6 years of his wife's life lol.

80 years old should have been sent on his way with a warning for standing near the beach with friends.
Ripped for 50k by a bail guy, a future court date and and passport retained.
Ripped by the escort home just extortion at its finest.
Have they no common sense or shame? ..... guess the redundant jet ski scam is leaving empty coffers that need replenishing!
One for the international press I think to see Thailands finest at work!!
They were repeat offenders. There everyday flouting the ban. In fact they were also moved on about 30 minutes before but came back when they thought the police were gone. Its people like this who ignore the regulations, who will ultimately influence whether we return to some sort of normal

This too has been dashed - though restaurants can open people can only eat and drink at home off the premises.
MODS please correct this article
This is totally incorrect information. Restaurants can open in Pattaya for eat inside the restaurant. Only alcohol has to be consumed off premises.

Unlimited free calls with my AIS 150bht/month unlimited internet deal.
So no point.
Yes but that costs you 150bht. This is free, I dont see your point. I would never use 150 baht on calls in a month anyway. I call everyone on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger for free anyway.

it is exactly how things are done today - nothing has changed, in fact it has probably deteriorated over the last 6 years under total military control
If you think Thailand has suddenly become honest and accountable these last few years you are deluded
Thailand is going backwards not forwards - hadn't you noticed
this quote below is exactly what I have been saying for weeks, 60-70% of death certification is not performed by qualified people, and currently they have no wish or incentive to do so
Other reason of low quality COD is that 60-70% of the deaths occurred outside hospitals.
COD information in death certificate is provided by relative of deceased to village registrar who has no health or medical background. As the result, large number of COD information in civil registration system is ill-defined and questionable.I am convinced that you do not want this virus to go away. Your daily preaching from your soapbox is getting really tiring. Please try and be a bit more positive and give the Thai's a bit of credit. They are doing as well as they can with the national resources that they have.

That's funny, earlier today in the ThaiVisa newsletter there was an article that said Phuket had no new cases of covid.

It operates on the same gamma-Aminobutyric acid receptors as Alcohol and makes withdrawal and cravings a trivial ordeal. This drug is a miracle cure for alcoholism and as an added bonus, it lifts your mood and makes you chatty like booze does.
You can use it recreationally and it’s an incredibly safe drug, you would need to take quite a bit of 300mg pills to even approach bodily harm. I take about a dozen a day spaced out over the entire day. It’s original use is an anti-convulsant and anti-seizure drug, but studies have shown its beneficial for alcoholism and alcohol cravings. You won’t be drunk, but you also won’t want to be drunk because your GABA receptors will be plumb-full of Gabapentin and it will zap your alcohol cravings like you can’t believe. This drug help me quit alcohol for good, now I’m down to having an occasional glass of wine with my girlfriend when we feel like it.
Alcohol was really messing with my sleep, I would only get about 4 hours of sleep if I was lucky, and I would spend hours awake in bed trying to get back to sleep. GABA is incredibly important for your wellbeing and Alcohol fries them with enough abuse. You can heal them, but it’s going to be a long and painful journey of sleeplessness and other bad things.
Getting loaded everyday is not a good thing, and I really am concerned with some of the members here, seems like they thrown in the towel in life and just resigned themselves to being drunk as a sailor all day and that they can’t live without booze.
Try Gabapentin. Start off with 600mg and work your way up to 900mg. It takes a few days to really take effect so keep dosing daily and eventually you will feel it’s effects and your withdrawal of alcohol will be less painful and the cravings will be less severe.
I am not a doctor I’m just telling you my story and how this drug was a miracle cure for me to quit drinking for good. I was downing a fifth of vodka or sangsom everyday and sometimes would go back to the store drunk as a skunk and get another small bottle of sangsom and drink that as well. Alcohol is the devil and it’s going to ruin your life if you abuse it like I was.
This is dangerous advice. Plese ignore.
Gabapentin, sold under the brand name Neurontin among others, is an anticonvulsant medication used to treat partial seizures, neuropathic pain, hot flashes, and restless legs syndrome. Wikipedia- 3

How is that relevant? Alcohol is a small part of their business.

First in the queue to condem people well done. It is not a big deal for some but it is for others. I dont know if you live here or not. There are many expats in Pattaya that are stuck in a small room with nowhere to go because the bars are closed that welcome a couple of beers to get through the day. If you are a non drinker and/or dont live here you would not understand. Myself when the bars are open I go out 3 times a week. Now the bars are closed I like a few Thursday to Sunday. Why condem people who like a beer. May 31st was a long way off.

My wife is also stuck in the U.K. we are on extension of stay and she is my dependant recently the Thai government announced that all foreigners had to have $100,000 health insurance policy which must have written in It that the police states you are covered from Corona virus this does not apply to Thai nationals there was also a requirement that both foreigners and Thai nationals must obtain a health certificate stating you are clear from Corona virus and this letter can be no older than 72 hours before you fly . I have already seen posts that Thai nationals who didn’t have this certificate were turned away at airports around the world my wife has already made enquires in the U.K. on both issues and tells me that there is no chance of getting either requirement . It should also be noted if this couple were to return to Thailand they have to go into Quarantine for 14 days on a military base.
You have posted about this on at least 2 other threads about health certificate and insurance and I personaly have put you straight twice. Not needed, because these requirements were cancelled by the banning of all incoming flights other than repatriation of Thai nationals. Now thats a 3rd time.

Workpermit holders not allowed in anymore?
No 100% not. This all changed when there was all that fuss around the repariation flight that Thai's arrived on and refused to go into quarantine. Remember that. Well since then no one exept government repatriation flights are allowed in. Thai's only. Strict 14 days quarantine.

You are also wrong. Anyone can not apply for the ฿5000 for three months. There are three categories of workers and one category is self-employed outside the social security system. They are the only ones who can apply for the money. The other two groups gets their money from other sources and will get rejected if they apply.
I personally know someone who was paid the money via prompt pay direct into bank account. This person does not belong to any of the 3 categories. It was applied for directly on the site for the 5,000 baht. I dont know what other source you are referring too?

Unless you are a Thai, which the OP is not you would need the correct paperwork to get in.
A guy came with his Thai wife from S.Africa and was denied entry as he did not have the paperwork, she was let in.
Yes I remember that case. As I remember he was able to check in for his flight because at the time of check in Thailand did not require specific paperwork for foreigners. However the requirements changed whilst he was travelling. Therefore she was allowed in and he was not. If paperwork was required at the time he would not have been allowed to check in. The point I am trying to make and you are refusing to accept is that at this time until 31 May, no insurance, fit to fly or Negative Covid test is required for a foreigner because there are no commercial flights into Thailand with foreigners, only repatriation flights carrying Thai citizens only.
