Yeap, bottom stamp means that I am banned to enter Malaysia for 2 years, but I dont car about it. I just want to visit Thailand.

Finally of your replies, I make a conclusion, that I shouldn't get any problems to enter Thai. Thanks for your answers.

no don't go spice it up a bit why deported ??

Sorry gerry123 didn't understand you. Do you want to know the reason of banning?

    yes he does

    and so do I

  2. how can she possibly be held responsible when the rice business was taken away from her at gun point? Is the new owner, Junta, not responsible for the bad as well as the good?

Thailand will have no credibility in the world if they simply depose an elected leader and then prosecute her when things go wrong. Sorry, this is not to be critical of the government, just saying.coffee1.gif

Good article that hits the nail on the head.

"The pollsters may have become a political tool [for the continued imposition of martial law],"

The irony of using dodgy polls to legitimise the regime, whilst simultaneously prohibiting a country wide poll, seems to be lost on everyone but the junta.

CONTINUED long-term imposition of martial law will further corrode democratic culture???? What???? democratic culture???? under a dictatorship????? How is that working out?

Call it whatever we must but pleeeese do not call it democratic.

Don't listen to all the negativity. If you can't cut it in America then move to Thailand. It shouldn't be too hard for you to find a 300 baht a day job with all of your skills in Thailand, even with the 1 million Burmese immgrants who are prepared to work for less...

He just may be too young to understand your wisdom.clap2.gif

Right now I live with my mom, she is working here but she wants to go back in a couple of years and I go to school for free. At first I was super-motivated to be an engineer or something, but now I lost all that and I just want to learn some useful skills such as fixing autos, I don't have any passion left for school.

Finish your engineering degree , will open up doors for you all of your life and allow you to work anywhere in the world . Much harder to do that if you do not have a degree, Just suffer it for another couple of years .

"I go to school for free" You mean if you come to Thailand ? ,The free schools are free for a reason

Stick at it mate , you're only young , you have the rest of your life to come to Thailand

I agree completely and speak from experience. I wanted to leave the old country when young but was talked into finishing a BSEE and did so. I have never had a problem getting a well paying and interesting job all over the world. It would have been very different if I had set out without that degree. A few years fly by and pay and pay and pay back for many years to come. Your Thai citizenship will be valid later but your opportunity to get that degree in the USA is your brass ring. Only for a few years. Grab it and hold on tight. It is real and will turn to gold.

Must be one he'll of a pub is security gaurds are armed.

And he denied the guy entrance because the guy was intoxicated, not because the club was already supposed to be closed at 2 a.m.

Wonder if the guard will lose his job when the pub owner reads that the Turk had 100K in his pocket?

Yes he should because the man had a Swiss Army knife that is illegal in the pub.

Why does the article feature a photo of Alcatraz? Are the Swedes detained there? alt=tongue.png>

Knowing Swedes are good swimmers makes them ineligible for Alcatraz. Geez, I thought everybody knows that.w00t.gif

  8. Most of the 20 Swedes in Jail are there for Visa overstays and none of the 20 Swedes in Jail are there for Visa issues.

    What?

Is this Thai translated to Swedish translated to English?

    or

Is this Swedish translated to Thai translated to English?

Lets get this cleared up and try again.

Ubonjoe- wasn't aware it was now 30 days on an extension...Where can I get that done please?

Canarysun- are the trains less riskier that the mini vans? Sounds great for 44baht !

    Hello!

I refuse to use these minivans " anything that moves on thai roads is a death trap " There are two trains a day out of Hua Lampong railway station 05.55 and i think it arrives at 11.30 at a cost of 48 baht ( The trains are safe, slow and fabulous scenery en route! You will of course have to pay a visa fee at the Cambodia Border. Many people are now doing the Visa runs themselves, especially the Laos trip which has always been a complete " rip off " when the train is ridiculously cheap and much more of an adventure!

There is never a rush in life for anything so why not take a bit longer and explore these wonderful countries!

    F.J wai2.gif.pagespeed.ce.goigDuXn4XwDTX7uci alt=wai2.gif width=20 height=20>

I couldn't agree more, visa runs are a 'rip off' and a round trip by minivan....I'll say no more.

I do my three monthly visa runs by air either a daily round trip to KL or to Mae Sai via Chiang Rai. Depending on the time of travel, the airfare can work out cheaper than a visa run by minivan.

End March have already booked a flight to Chiang Rai but certainly I'll give the train a go to Cambodia in Sept. You say you'd pay the visa fee at the border but would the trip include an overnight stay or would you be able to return say day?

The train sounds interesting. Where do you board the train? Can you get on the train anywhere near Pattaya? Where in Cambodia does the train take you, Pnom Phen? Is it possible to take a train to go to Anchor Wat? thanks for replies.

The direction this thread takes depends on the answer to this question:

Who do we hate more--Iranians or Chinese?

    Let the blame games commence!

    T

I like the Chinese in general, and the love of my life was from Chengdu. I would only qualify that with a suggestion that it's a 1950s cliche to claim American tourists are annoyingly loud. The Chinese in their tour groups are FAR louder than "If it's Tuesday this must be Belgium" U.S. tour groups ever were. Oh, and of course Commonwealth lager louts are never loud! But I mean all this affectionately. Especially for that girl from Chengdu.

This is very off-topic and im not judging anyone but during my 2 years in Bangkok my observation is that the chinese talk loudest with people from US taking the second place.

Australians top them all with the F word in every sentence for additional effect.clap2.gif

Not shocking at all. when you see Monks walking around with new Mac computers, Cameras....etc....

Oh dear, better not carry my camera around, I might get taken for a paedophile!

Contender for idiot post of the day RT555

Actually - yours is - as you completely misunderstood what RT555 was trying to say.

You've made a fool of yourself.

I'd be interested to read how owning a Mac computer or camera has anything to do with paedophilia, pray tell!

It doesn't but it has everything to do with Monks.w00t.gif

Let's see, he's 70, and she's probably 20 something, or MAYBE early 30's, and swore she loved him, and that all the other men at the "club" where she worked were just "friends".

How many times have we all heard this story, and how many more times will we hear it?

I have never heard it. Where is the club that I can meet someone wonderful who will love me? I have been alone too long. I am shy but I do have money, that is not a problem.

  13. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

But I can be sure I will eventually be able to leave? I havent booked my hotel yet, due to the uncertainty.

You will need an official stamp in your paspsort giving you a new dat untill which you can stay in Thailand/your application is being considered. Otherwise there is nothing to base the re-entry permit on.

Not only that. A re-entry permit will expire as soon as your long term expires. Happened to me. I paid for a re entry and never got to use it. Had to buy a new re entry when I got the extension. slowly does it.

  14. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

    2) Why not just get your reentry permit at the airport if you're leaving by air? There is a convenient office there, just before you clear passport control.

I've asked this myself and the piqued answer was something like "since anything can happen the best way is to get it well in advance". Fine with me, it's not my time being wasted.

Not wanting to disagree with you but telling someone to come back closer to their actual departure date because they are busy, is ridiculous.

Its like putting up a sign on the Free way telling drivers to turn around and come back on a day when it is not so busy.

I will go back next week, give a fake date because I don't have a date, and take my changes.facepalm.gif

It will be my 3rd visit for something that could have (should have) been done in one visit. thumbsup.gif

    Thanks to all for answering.
