Best bet is to get a new one if you have time but as long as it is machine readable should be ok. I left Thailand, entered Australia then exited Australia and re-entered Thailand on a passport where the photo was not discernible after i was caught in the rain. The immigration officer in Sydney when i was leaving just told me to get a new one.

Sounds like a lot of old men on this forum with a curmudgeonly disposition. You all really should find some sort of hobby in retirement that isn’t trying to elevate your own social station in life by denigrating others.

My passport was water damaged once when i was caught in a rainstorm to the point you could not make out the photo. Interestingly i went through Thai immigration going back to australia then entered and exited australia the back to Thailand without issue. If the passport is machine readable your photo will appear on the IO screen anyway, The immigration guys in Australia and Thailand just told me to get a new one ASAP.

Ahhh. That is only in our situation that number applies to. If work out side of your home city first two years you are entitled to have rent paid on top of salary. If work in home city then no extra money. We didn't have to take that bigger loan to build our house so that extra money will end up paying about 30% of it. Soon as the loan finishes though, the rent money will stop coming. Many government people just keep on adding to their loan. The benefits are why nearly every graduate apply to be government officials, but only small percentages make the cut obviously.
Gotcha..Excuse me I'm just having my usual once a year whinge for the tax I pay here for little or no benefit it seems...
You might also want to check out whether you need to pay HECS. They changed the law this year so that you do even If living overseas.

Where my income also used to go. If our incomes didn't go there, then the country would be as underdeveloped as Thailand is.
No, I mean here. My tax rate here is 35%. Paying for govt officials houses doesn't leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling.

Thank you. Being only 26 with zero money when I moved here, I understood the risks (as I wont get my countries pension probably). And in all fairness to the poster I probably wouldn't have if my wife didn't have the position she does (would have brought her over at our young ages). However, our house will be easily paid off as the government pays 30% of it and the Mrs pension will be higher than my pension would have been from Australia anyway. So really, it was a no brainer.
Also I can use my university degree without having to pay for it as I am not getting an Australian income. Stomach has toughened up, got used to the weather...the only stress is just stupid ways Thai do things lolSo this is where 35% of my income goes...

I think you are confused between transferring and cancelling and applying at the same time. What probably happened was that your old employer cancelled your old WP and your new employer applied for your new WP at the same time. WP's cannot be transferred.
Ah right. You are most likely correct. I just sat there and they did everything. I thought it was just transferring but could have been as you said.
OB -
Yes possible I did it about a year ago. What you need though is for both employers to cooperate and coordinate. I arrived at immigration and both HR reps were there at the same time. They did whatever they needed to do and the previous employers HR rep left and I continued on applying for the employment visa and WP stuff with my new firm. Key is just to get both employers to coordinate.

No I don't think so. You make it clear that you have zero respect for the immigration so you will wear what you like ( ok so far?) so I said it's up to you but don't come whingeing and whining when you get f***d over by them..
( still with me ?)
comprehension skills fully functional but thanks for the disgnostics.
You almost got there. Try again old fellow.
There shall be no whining from me.

As has been said before, help yourself but dont come back on TVF whining and moaning about how you were f****d over by some blah blah blah.....
whats the point?
You cannot make a silk purse from a sows ear.
You need to improve your reading comprehension.

To dress respectfully would mean I respect them. I don't so I wear what I need to to get the visa.

A lot of posters on this site have a tendency to talk about Thai people like they are 1 big homogenous group who all think the same. Sounds like the OP might be an older gentleman whose demographic is always complaining about "young people today". Most of the Thai people I know wouldn't care what someone was wearing on the BTS. A temple would of course be a different matter.

I had the opposite experience. When I first moved here I hated it. Now with a great circle of friends, things to do on weekends with the family living in a great location I love it.

I can't find anything clear about if the form is being used at cheang wattana. Is it? Doing my extension of stay next week.
I think just chamchuri square so far. I was presented with it last week.

I was given this form to fill out by my HR today. I am changing jobs and applying for a new wp and extension. She pretty much told me not to put anything personal on there. I put my wife down for contacts in Thailand and my parents home address and left everything else blank. There was no need for a signature.

I've never had to provide this information for my extension.

Perhaps you are on a B extension? For the rest of us we have to provide details about funds and bank accounts to the immigration officer when applying for an extension.
Got it. Yep on a B.

Who's fault will it be when peoples accounts are plundered as a result of skips being harvested?
BS, how should this happen....it's information you have to provide anyway for an extension of stay. Don't know any case where someone go plundered because of that.
I've never had to provide this information for my extension.

Yeah I'm not that keen on giving them my bank details at all.

Certainly a worrying development if true. I am in the midst of moving jobs and will have to go to chamchuri in the next couple of weeks.

Yes if you have all the documents in order it's a remarkably efficient process. As you aren't married I'd submit as much evidence of the relationship as you can in the form of photos or evidence of you covering the hospital bills or anything like that.

I just went through this for my #2 here. There's a raft of documents you need and an application form to fill out. You can get the detailed info here:
https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Citi/Appl/How-to-apply/Application-process-for-citizenship-by-descent
Couple of tips. For some reason when applying in Thailand you will need your full birth certificate. This took me some time as I had to send off to birth deaths and marriages for it. Also they will ask for evidence of the relationship. Make sure you include photos of you and the fiancé while she is visibly pregnant and after the birth with the child. I also included credit card statements showing payments to the hospital during her pregnancy (they didn't ask for that here but they did in Singapore when I was applying for #1). Once you get the documents sorted and various ones certified (you can do this at the trendy building if you are in Bkk) I simply submitted the documents and it was approved about 8 days later and the citizenship cert was sent out to me. Once you have the citizenship cert it's pretty straightforward to apply for the passport.

Farangs who don’t wear face masks should be kicked out of Thailand says health minister

Another pretty decent example of this fallacy Thai's don't get angry so we should never raise our voice or get angry either. Strange man approaches you and offers you facemark from ungloved hand - I probably wouldn't take it either. He then has a hissy fit. Whole place is just one big con job but - pun intended - the mask is slipping.
