  1. I do not know if it is the Central's Banana shop, I bought there one iPhone 6, one iPhone 6plus, one iPad mini, the staff in this shop is absolutely helpful at least in my experience, smiling joking and taking the time to do everything properly, I would have recommanded this shop...

So my kaojy? Something must be missing in this storyrolleyes.gif

Your experience had nothing to do with taking anything back though, did it? So what makes you think something is missing from the story?

  2. I avoid them unless absolutely necessary. Had a couple of shockers who weren't happy with taking me where I wanted to go and drove like a maniac. My Wife also avoids taking them if she has my kids with her. I take pretty much Uber everywhere. The cars are clean and don't smell like garlic and farts and the drivers drive a lot more carefully.

  3. I'd def recommend going for Citi gold. Drop 3mln in to qualify. You don't even need to leave it in there the entire time.

correct me if I am wrong, but if your amount on account drops below the USD 100k as indicated for Thailand, they will charge you a monthly fee on the account as you need to maintain the balance at USD 100k for free banking...

Correct. THB 100 pm below 100k

  4. Right. But if you were doing that (so called) unskilled job and someone offered you more for the same job you would prob take it right?

Probably, but why would anyone pay more than the going rate for a unskilled job? Unless there was some massive shortage of people to fill the role, in which case one would expect the going rate to be much higher anyway.

My point was that paying more wont necessarily get you a better employee: just a more expensive one.

I get you. We went through 4 before we found this one though. And we have been progressively paying her more each year. We think she is worth it and are happy to pay. The hassle of having someone new come in and all the trust issues etc is a big deal.

  5. If you want to keep good people you need to look after them. Even more so if they are also helping to look after your kids. Im sure most posters here have been an employee at some point. If your employer was dead set on only paying minimum wage age no matter what how long would you last? And would you do the best job you could? Or the bare minimum?

ridiculous...11 months too and food and lodging, St. Teresa you are...but if u want to, up to you, quite Generous, you can't take it with you.

You don't skimp on paying someone who is going to be minding your kids.

  7. I'm lost as to why the harbour mall theads are still running...come on guys ....been open since 1 April...enough already ...feel free to visit

No, keep it going as it winds up the miserable 'mall haters'. We should start the T21 mall countdown to opening thread also..

Starting the Bay mall thread might be better if it ever comes close to opening...

I am not a fan of Harbor mall but I will say they got one

heck of a lot of activities for kids...

Tourist will not be sustaining this mall...And neither

    will the cheap charlie expats...

If this mall is successful it will be because of the Thais

    and their kids...

    Bingo. Everyone getting it yet?

  8. not being competent never stopped anyone....when they need you; they need you. When they don't they don't. It's all style here, and many other places too, The whiteness of your face will determine your "competence." Otherwise, perhaps partner up with your wife in the real estate business. Be weary of any sales jobs on CL; they are gonna be boiler room operations. May I ask, what country are you residing in, and what kind of job does she want? For most skilled positions, a chance to work in the US, would be a dream come true...like for a nurse...making 10 times more, or even a hair stylist....There's an army of Vietnamese ladies doing manicures near my parent's house for 35 usd per crack. But, yes, I can relate to the other side of the coin, and there would be a lot one would miss about Thailand, especially if they were Thai.

    Have you ever worked here?

  9. T21 offers a unique shopping experience with its boutique stores. Most items are what you can find at JJ market, cheap and fasionable - well JJ Market was where young folks back in the day would go for cheap but fashionable clothing stuff. This appeals mostly to Asians, not so much to Westerners as they way they dress is different.

    And usually a different size.

  10. The mere thought of the new mall has already caused another outbreak of TVF Poster New Construction Syndrome (TVFPNCS). It has five stages:

    • Puzzlement
    • Disbelief; "no need"
    • Derision; doom prediction
    • Hate (disappointment)
    • Acceptance.
It would be helpful to understand the inadequacy of the "my eyeballs at several random intervals didn't see every shop packed" measure of economic success. This may be an insurmountable hurdle, however. Following that, so many of our members are still confounded at how CentralFestival Pattaya Beach even stays open, when in fact it's been a big success. Many of our near-sighted members can't even see any Chinese in there . . . yet the financial reports of Central Pattana PLC offer hard evidence, not the usual coin of our realm: anecdotes.

    Brilliant.
