  1. Maybe it would be good to use the word curfew when there is a curfew, and 'bar closing times' for what this is.

I'm sorry but the article mentions the word CURFEW.

CURFEW is something very serious happening only during war time and, speaking about Thailand, during the frequent coups.

CURFEW is NOT harmless. This is serious. With army keeping the streets empty.

So, please journos, tell us if we are speaking about a CURFEW or just a "bar closing time".

Winnie thinks we are speaking about "bar closing time" but remember that a Military Junta is running this country...

  2. As mentioned in the article, every thing depends on the Thai Extremists. If they act -under martial law-, it will be the proof that "someone" is masterminding the story.

As an observer of the case since 15 years, I can tell you that the worst guys in charge was the team Abisith - Kasit who really wanted the war because they indeed believe, like the crazy yellow shirts, that the temple IS Thai.

  3. Not only question of money. Question of values, as well.

Thais don't mind to kill => check in the prison => your sentence will be far lower if you kill your neighbor than to if you carry 100 gr of drugs.

Obviously in a street, GOD is the CAR. Not Buddha and first of all, not the pedestrian which is just a human being. A driver is more than that, it's a human being able to by a CAR. His value is higher than a pedestrian.

Nor need money or end corruption to drive with respect to the pedestrians or cyclists.

In some country pedestrians have the priority and the driver will care and respect them. In Thailand a driver can do ANYTHING to a pedestrian or a cyclist just because he has power but, one more time, it's not a question of money but of value => he could be rich and respect the poor. Or not.

  4. These Thainess fairs are for Thai tourists in Thailand.

I visited the one in Lumpini. It was successful. Thousands of people, mainly Thais.

No interest for foreigners as it's just a big OTOP event.

Foreigners don't care to know that in this small village, local residents make honey or body cream or bags or dress.

Foreigners like sun, good hotel, nice smile, cheap massage, "aroy" food, not poor craft or folklore. Not special to Thailand => craft and folklore are ALWAYS ridiculous for foreigners, in any country.
