Proof of residence can be a rental agreement with signed copies of the owners house book and ID card attached.
Thank you Joe.

I don't recall there being a requirement for proof of residency to apply for a non-b visa at a embassy or consulate.
Sorry i mean Non Immigrant B visa ( for business/work).

If the hotel did the registration as they should do they can print the registration confirmation when the online registration is done.
This print out can be used for the address registration confirmation. (put it into your passport)
Thank you for that. I saw your comment before i went to immigration and did as you said: 1.I took a print out of my hotels online registration to immigration ( of my arrival/booking). 2.I also took the hotel's business card which the officer asked to see as i didn't write the name of the hotel correctly on the form. The staff were friendly and quick. I went in at 11.20am and was out by mid-day, job done! Thanks again.

If you have a 90 day visa (Non-O) you can't get a 30 day extension.
Or do you mean that you have a TR60 tourist visa which gave you 60 day at entry? if so you can extend this by 30 day to make it 90 days in total.
Yes that is what i meant. What do i need to take to immigration?

Please can some one tell me EXACTLY what i need to take to Jomtirn immigration to get a 1 month visa extension? My 90 day visa expires on Friday.

Hello i'm currently on a 90 day tourist visa which expires this Friday 21st September. I was going to Jomtien immigration on Thursday with the usual form, photos, passport/ visa photocopies. I've just found a thread on here stating i need to have all sorts of proof of where i'm staying (my hotel has registerd me). It also might be i should've gone there a lot longer before the 2 days i only have left on my current visa. Please can someine give me some up to date info on what i need to take to Jomtien immigration and if i still have enough days on my current visa or should i do it in Bangkok instead. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is no report that you, the tourist, are required to make to immigration. Only the hotel management need to submit a TM.30 report to confirm you are staying at their address. The "someone" is wrong.
Thank you

Hello i am currently living in Thailand on a tourist visa. I am staying in an apartment in a hotel. The management registered me living there with immigration electronically just under a week ago. I have been told by someone that i should've gone to immigration and registered myself, they say i will/could be fined. The hotel management tell me i don't need to do this. Please can someone clear this up with me. I am currently applying (through a company) for a work permit so i need to be sure there wont be any complications etc.

That is one of the reasons I suggested flying domestic to Udon Thani. That way you enter and depart at the bridge in Nong Khai.
You could also fly from BKK or DMK to Vientiane and enter via the bridge and fly back from Udon.
Thanks Joe

It depends upon where you are applying for the visa.
At Vientiane if you don't have a lot of visas you will not have a problem. A good way to do the Vientiane run is flying domestic to Udon Thani and taking a van to the bridge in Nong Khai from the airport there. Then the reverse for the return trip
I had no problems getting the visa in Vientiane, the problems happened going through Bkk International Airport passport control. I have had heard similar reports from people going through Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang. It seems flying into Bkk is now a no-no if you have previous stamps on your passport.

Some friends have recommended next time i should go overland with a tour group: you pay more than you'd normally do but the companies make sure you get there and back with no problems. On my last trip i noticed a lot of Philipinos with tour comps. This is just what i've been told. I really don't like those hair-raising 10 - 15 hour mini-bus journeys but it might be worth it if it avoids the problems a lot of people seem to be getting.

on the contrary 80% of Thailand's sex industry is for Thai or Chinese customers
If you are Thai you don't need me to remind you (but i will!) that on every motorway, in every town/city and on every block you will find massage parlous/go-go bars catering for your okker Thai man.
it's quite hilarious when the authorities have their annual 'war on the sex trade' forays into Pattaya and Sukhumvit which are (shockingly) minuscule in comparison with what goes on (untouched) in the rest of the country.
still, as with most things here, it's always better to blame things on farangs...

So someday I'm hit by a car stepping into the street to get around a restaurant set up on the sidewalk, all I can say is I'm glad I was helping someone make a living?
not if you open your eyes and look to see what's coming.
where do the motor bikes mostly drive?
not on the road that's for sure.
