If the hotel did the registration as they should do they can print the registration confirmation when the online registration is done.

This print out can be used for the address registration confirmation.  (put it into your passport)

Thank you for that. I saw your comment before i went to immigration and did as you said:        1.I took a print out of my hotels online registration to immigration ( of my arrival/booking).                          2.I also took the hotel's business card which the officer asked to see as i didn't write the name of the hotel correctly on the form. The staff were friendly and quick.                                      I went in at 11.20am and was out by mid-day, job done! Thanks again.

  2. Hello i'm currently on a 90 day tourist visa which expires this Friday 21st September. I was going to Jomtien immigration on Thursday with the usual form, photos, passport/ visa photocopies. I've just found a thread on here stating i need to have all sorts of proof of where i'm staying (my hotel has registerd me). It also might be i should've gone there a lot longer before the 2 days i only have left on my current visa. Please can someine give me some up to date info on what i need to take to Jomtien immigration and if i still have enough days on my current visa or should i do it in Bangkok instead. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  3. Hello i am currently living in Thailand on a tourist visa. I am staying in an apartment in a hotel. The management registered me living there with immigration electronically just under a week ago. I have been told by someone that i should've gone to immigration and registered myself, they say i will/could be fined. The hotel management tell me i don't need to do this. Please can someone clear this up with me. I am currently applying (through a company) for a work permit so i need to be sure there wont be any complications etc.

It depends upon where you are applying for the visa.

At Vientiane if you don't have a lot of visas you will not have a problem. A good way to do the Vientiane run is flying domestic to Udon Thani and taking a van to the bridge in Nong Khai from the airport there. Then the reverse for the return trip

I had no problems getting the visa in Vientiane, the problems happened going through Bkk International Airport passport control. I have had heard similar reports from people going through Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang. It seems flying into Bkk is now a no-no if you have previous stamps on your passport.

  5. Some friends have recommended next time i should go overland with a tour group: you pay more than you'd normally do but the companies make sure you get there and back with no problems. On my last trip i noticed a lot of Philipinos with tour comps. This is just what i've been told. I really don't like those hair-raising 10 - 15 hour mini-bus journeys but it might be worth it if it avoids the problems a lot of people seem to be getting.

  6. Hello i'm leaving the country for a few days on Weds, i have a Ed Visa so i need to get an exit/re-entry permit, i've been advised to get it before the leaving date in case there are problems on the day.

i was wondering if anyone's ever done it before (not on the same day they leave) at the airport... i'd like to avoid going to C.Wattana and i'm thinking of going to Suvarnabhumi today to do it.

  7. I believe this is an effort to have people watching this circus lose interest.

I would rather say it is an effort to track and hunt down and silence the witnesses cold blooded, before they have a chance to speak out...

are any of the witnesses (especially the new ones) still living in Thailand? i got the impression most had already fled?

  8. All the usual rhetoric from the expat community ... accusing the RTP and Government of being complicit in all the corruption, murder and other illegal activities ... and yet here you all are supporting the regime.

How many times have I heard people calling for change and yet refuse to take action that brings about that change. You should all be ashamed of yourselves but I guess there's no dragging you off that bar stool.

I've said it before, I'll say it again ... it is YOU, not the Gov, that holds the power to change. All you need to do is leave and then publicly state why you left ... yes change is possible but only if you initiate it otherwise anything you say here is mere hollow words that the Thai officialdom will laugh at.

It's not the RTP or the Gov that's just corrupt or inept ... it's the foreigners who live in Thailand.

i'm not leaving Thailand although i have considered it

i am boycotting Koh Tao, that is where it happened.

    RIP Hannah & David
