Haven't seen it for the past 2 years, and I live opposite.
It was most certainly was on last year, I was there.
That said, seen nothing about it this year sadly, it's a great fair.

In other news, Bangkok survey published by The Nation found that 95.7% thought rain is wet and that the sky is blue.

I have just secured an ED visa with Hand to Hand combat. They know what they're doing and the ED Visa is still given. So what OP was told at the Thai embassy in Hanoi is complete rubbish. I know because I JUST secured an ED visa with Hand to Hand combat.
Therefore all OP has to do is to travel to other locations and keep trying to apply for the ED Visa. Just because Hanoi rejected DOES NOT mean other locations will.
What OP should NEVER do is tell anyone he works here, as it is illegal to work in Thailand on an ED visa.
The problem wasn't getting the initial ED visa, it was getting it a second time. It's not op here that is sprouting rubbish.

It didn't generate anything - it was a redistribution of tax money with most of the funds ending up in the hands of multi-national Thai companies.

I love how they call it a "domestic tourist scheme" when you could use the money in supermarkets, the only catch being that it had to be in a neighboring province. It was nothing more than tax payer money being redistributed to major corporate interests in Thailand.

Mae Sai - 257 kms from the middle of town. 500 baht or US$10 to enter Myanmar. You get a day pass but you can simply turn around once you're stamped and re-enter Thailand.

unless the line goes to Phuket it doesn't link the country's "three main airports."

The air quality is already in September double the WHO levels for PM2,5 particles and we are not yet even close to the so-called burning season. And of course there are no signs that the Governor is even in Chiang Mai. Last we heard he was in Shanghai learning how to create clean air rooms. Kind of strikes me that he has little intention of dealing with the source of the pollution because it us caused by big business interests, but as per last season he will try to use minimalist palliative initiatives to gain positive press coverage whilst the majority are poisoned even inside their own homes. The most egregious behaviour of a weak administration.
The only person misinformed is you.
The governor retired yesterday for starters and has been doing farewell ceremonies in CM for the last week, he was in a Shanghai about a month ago and while there is a bit a smog around at the moment the air has been good since the the middle of May - statistically good.

What's the reality in the ground is it very quiet much less traffic in town, empty roads?
In our dreams. Traffic is as bad as ever. It's low season, there's not as many tourists around but there are still plenty of tourists and the traffic never ends.

She tried to scream out but no one came to her aid so she ran to the balcony and called out. The husband managed to open the sliding door and barged out causing Sunisa to fall to the ground.
She didn't jump as police and doctors have mistakenly assumed.
Obviously a troubled relationship but he didn't push her or even touch her. How exactly did it cause her to "fall to the ground."
There's something really off with this story.- 1

Just wondering what this guy has on the PM and why he's so important to the PM to force the latter to lie and go into great pains to deny and distort court documented facts of a serious criminal past, imprisonment and being an imposter labeling it a " small Issues" and let bygone be bygone"...
For legal reasons that can't be mentioned. The why is buried in the original Sydney Morning Herald article if you read closely.

One case - see above. As for "less international flights to Chiang Mai" the airport is ranked as the fourth busiest in Thailand behind BKK, DMK and HKT with over two million direct international travelers last year. Krabi is less than half the size.

Lets be clear - foreigners working and residing in BANGKOK.
Large parts of the rest of the country have had the TM30 law enforced for years and somehow the sky didn't fall in.

Cars on a Pedestrian bridge

It had bollards up at either end the last time I was there - unless they've been removed I can't see how vehicles would be able to cross it.
