When do these TM30s kick in?
Depending on the Immigration office, you can't do anything without one on file. It has been law since 1979 and enforced since about 2016 at some offices - Chiang Mai in particular.

Apperently can stay in Phuket but I will probably live in chiang mai and study on it (as you should do and is required)
A legitimate ED visa requires in-class teaching - minimum of eight hours a week. Any school offering online learning is breaking the law.
Sign up to school in CM and turn up to classes if you don't want to put yourself at risk of getting into trouble. And Immigration has been strict on EDs recently due to the Chinese gangs using them.

Send her this link - it's Chiang Mai Immigration arresting and fining 16 Thais for not filing TM30s last week. If she still doesn't get the hint, report her to Immigration or move.

nature of my original post , as I thought it was actually quite clear.
I have found the answer to my original question.
Before local io could stamp passport with visa ,
local immigration office was waiting on an update from changmai Immigration office and inturn changmai Immigration office was waiting on permissions/update from Bangkok immigration.
Delays apparently caused by staff shortages at Bangkok IO due to COVID
Thanks for all your replies most appreciated ????
You're yet to say what it is you are applying for. Extension based on marriage or retirement? some other sort of visa??
This isn't rocket science - all you have to do is explain your situation - I have X visa and I'm trying to get Y done at Z office.- 3

Correct.
However there are couple of rogue offices that are not following the change of rules that occured in ~ June 2020.
Most notable is CM
When did CM change? I've got the same TM30 in the back of my passport I filed in 2019 and have the left the country multiple times (let alone domestic travel) and have confirmed with them - in person, that I don't need to file a new one. Of note, that's with re-entry permits on two year extensions of stays - if you change visa status, that's different.

I'd say the bus ride in a border area is a much bigger risk than a domestic flight.
You should consider flying out instead of leaving overland.
This. It's not unheard of for Immigration and police to come onto a bus and check passports.

And that's the part some forget - it's some years, not every year. This year may have been bad, but everyone seems to have forgotten that it barely happened at all last year.

Had the better half apply for one last year at the convention center. Took about an hour and the passport surprisingly turned up three days later via registered mail.

PWA supply in San Sai - we've also got a pump and water tank, the supply magically goes off 2-3 times a month and other times it's weak. The pump helps with the water pressure as we can tap into the tank + the tank when it just stops for no reason. It has gotten significantly worse this year.

Meals-on-wheels is overly expensive for delivery if you don't live in the city. Grab is your best bet Reliable and affordable delivery service.

A lot of hassle getting re-entry permit at the Immigration office near the airport. They appear to have a quota for the queue & people were turned away after the lunch break, with advice to try again tomorrow. Amazing Thailand! Should be a 5 minute job for each applicant.
Immigration at Central Festival - 10 minutes and no one is turned away.

I think it's seeds, not plants. You can plant what you want and only grow your allowance......I think I read this last year. Try a Google search where to get "cannabis or ganja seeds in Thailand". Multiples places that will send you an order of seeds. Leafly.com is good source of information before you buy seeds and then work weeks or months to grow and cultivate and the result is less than expected. Make sure that when you buy a packet of seeds that it or the breeder who produced them can list where the seeds came from and how they were crossed and/or backcrossed to get the seed that you hold in your hand. If you can’t get a seed’s history, it could be anything and the result of poor breeding practices. Good luck to your wife. Post some pics, let others know your experience. Thanks
If it was only seeds, why were Mae Jo Uni giving away plants when it first came in? It's not only seeds, you can buy grown plants at Kamthieng.

Kamthieng Flower Market - everything from seedlings through to nearly fully grown plants. They will be Thai Stick/native strains though. If you want a clone or something more exotic, Lanna Botanical - I think you can order directly but they also do market stalls around the place - top owner who knows his stuff and is happy to discuss growing with you.

You're being ripped off by your local cog shop. The only thing my local one tests is brakes.

The basics are still the same but the biggest changes have been new shops and restaurants. COVID gutted the touristy parts (Nimman/Old City/Chang Klan) with many places closing down but now new shops/restaurants/bars etc opening all the time. A good many new shops are marijuana dispensaries as well, so that's definitely new from 2016 ????

Can't imaging being better. City had everything one would need back in 2016, so nothing really to improve on.
More people & pollution since would keep me from living there. Even in the province, it would be hard to put up with the air pollution 4-6 months a year.
What more pollution since? if anything, it has gone down, particularly during wet season.

Two down (KSG, Promenada), one to go. When will Pantip Plaza be decommissioned?
As soon as they work out some way to turn the building into a hotel. It has to be on borrowed time + it sits on some of CM's most expensive real estate.

" how I can get cooked food delivered to my home in Sannameng, Sansai, just off highway 118?"
Grab matches your address based on GPS. I live in the next tambon towards Doi Saket off the 118 and there 100+ places on Grab that will deliver.

Large hole in middle of moat road blocking traffic…is it fixed do you know..?

The digging around the moat is part of a program to put all the power and communications lines underground. It started a few months ago.
