Does Saigon also work for multiple Non-O based on retirement, not marriage?  I can show 800k in a Thai Bank if required.  Saigon would be easier than Laos.

have a look on their website, I wrote to them yesterday asking if everything was up to date on the site and they responded saying 'yes'.

Is all of this discussion relevant only to Married-to-Thai Non-O visa?  Can a Non-O w/o proof of funds be obtained at these places (or anywhere) for non-married?

the only places 'close' to thailand that will give the non-o M based on marriage w/o proof of funds are savannakhet laos and HCMC vietnam. savannakhet is 5000thb for the visa and HCMC is $200 USD (dollars only, no thai baht allowed) - so HCMC is slightly more expensive but could be easier to get to depending on where you are located. i am going there next week for my non-o M

Thank you for your replies, overherebc and ubonjoe

I didn't realise I could get a 60 day extension on my current extension, and therefore not have to leave Thailand (for now). Again, sorry to be a pain, but what are the document requirements and procedure for this? Would they want proof of financial status for a 60 day extension?

I'm currently in BKK so would visit IMM at Chaengwattana.

    Thank you.

60 day ext. requirements are the application form, 1 photo, copy of passport and current visa/stamp, wifes govt id, wifes tabien baan, marriage certificate, if you are renting a house you will need the contract and id/tabien baan of the house owner. and the fee is 1900thb. no proof of finances to be shown and you just apply for it at your local immigration office. and your wife needs to be with you when you go.

  4. Yes, I agree with the above reply. I am on a Non-O based on marriage and I have a work permit for teaching. Immigration and labor do not seem to communicate with one another, as immigration will typically say you cannot have a WP on a non-o and will try to convince you that you need to have a non-b. happens almost everytime that I go into immigration for one thing or another. it is labour's decision, NOT immigration.

I could have helped you but I'm in Pattaya. I own a detector.

But I am sure there are some Thais up north using detectors , plenty of them on the beaches here.

Maybe contact www.thaimetaldetectors.com/, they seem to be represented all over Thailand.

have asked on a FB group as well but cant find one, as I don't really want to purchase one because it is just a one-time use. I have been hoping to be driving around and see someone using one and just asking them about it.

  6. Hello,

Does anyone know where I could possibly rent a metal detector for a day or does anyone possibly have one I could borrow for a day? Lost my wedding ring a couple months back in a friends backyard and the thing is nowhere to be found.

  7. Currently on a Non-O M based on my Thai wife, on my last entry stamp that expires early December.

I have a work permit from a Thai school. I also have income from the USA. Neither of them are over 40k/month, but COMBINED they over 40k/month.

400k in bank is not an option. It is my understanding that the income needs to 'either/or', not 'and'... correct?

I am a US citizen. Do not want to get a Non-b.

Should I try and get the income affidavit from US consulate and apply for the 1-year extension at immigration or should I just go and get another Non-O multiple in Savannakhet or HCMC? I went into Immigration last week to update my address after a weekend away and the officer, for the first time ever, gave me a hard time about having a Non-O M spouse as well as having a work permit. I know that I am allowed to have both but she was questioning how I got the Non-O M w/o showing finances.

    Thanks.

  8. the last report of someone on here getting a non o multiple based on marriage at the thai embassy in seoul was 2 years ago, has anyone else done it more recently?

i have emailed and called the embassy and they both told me the same exact thing that finances are not required. I will be going in a couple weeks to apply. here is the text from the reply to the email i sent regarding requirements, just thought i would pass along the info.

i told them i am american, and my wife was thai also.

    Kindly provide  documents as below:

    Thai Spouse documents:

    1. copy of passport

    2. copy of identification card

    3. copy of household registration

    4. copy of marriage certificate

    Applicant's documents:

    1. Application form

    2. 1 photo

    3. 1 copy of passport

    4. visa fee single entry 80000 won

                     multiple visa 200,000 won

  9. Yes i can confirm that you do not need to have it translated. my wife had her interview this morning (USA tourist visa, chiang mai consulate), they didnt look at any of the papers that she brought in. just asked her where her mother lives, if i speak thai and where my finances come from and that was it. told her she was approved and they would mail the visa in next couple days.

just incase anyone is curious... her first time applying for the b1/b2 tourist visa. have been married 3 years. have a 2 year old son. she is 27, i am 30. i am a volunteer with an organization here and have been for 6 years. no intention of leaving thailand anytime soon. she is a stay at home mom and part time volunteer with the same organization. we rent, own a car and a motorbike. thats about it!

    very thankful.

  10. Yes on the application that was already sent in via online, it says she is married to me. but I know that they would want to see the marriage certificate to see that our marriage is official, whether or not they just take a glance at it or actually read the whole thing.

So my question is do you think it would need to be translated into English or will the original Thai be okay as she will be doing the interview in Thai anyway.

  11.
