Do you realise the age for a bike license is 15, many of the kids you presume are 14 may well be 15 and completely legal. There is a basic 3rd party person insurance built into the yearly fee for motorbikes.

Yes, some are younger and not legal but in some rural/remote areas, its how a big part of the population get themselves and siblings to school.

Most of the kids get to and from school safely, and have done for years, its just being practical. Not sure that a permit would make the trip any safer

you right i do some research, 15 years is the legal age, good news, the son of my wife is going to be 15 in two mont.and i am going to send him to driving school,i know what some people think about driving school but if you drive whit out a permit the assurance company don't want covert any thing, and that is a big problem!

after seeing the motorbike driving license process/test, I would reckon that  it doesn't make a difference if they have the license or not.

driving on the highways without a helmet is illegal, so is driving without a license.

a young lady cut me off with her scooter once, and took me and my girlfriend off my big bike.. she was on the highway, no helmet, no license, no insurance, didn't use signal light before turning, did not look in mirror or behind and she was absolutely 100% at fault

just her having no license or helmet should put her at fault, because she shouldn't have been there in the first place for like 15 other reasons

blame fell on me because she was a poor girl,  they took my bike away made me sign a paper saying it was my fault (in Thai)

i had to pay to fix her bike, give her money cause she got knocked out (no helmet) and fix mine.

    did she learn anything?

    no, but I did.

if you ask me, they should enforce the license and helmet with penalties that go up

    1st

    warning, written up.

    fine 100 baht

    fine 250 baht

    fine 500 baht

    fine 1000 baht

    and keep going.

cannot pay? take the bike away .. not paid within 1 or 2 months? sell the bike at auctions for dirt cheap and give them the change after fees

i have a full coverage whit my insurance and in case of a accident i call the insurance company who send a investigator, he the one who said who is at fault,if i am in my right there is no way i sign a piece of paper like you and paye for her repair because she poor!

  4. I see so many kids driving scooter going to school, they are about 14 years old more or less, whit no licence and no insurance,i think  we should have a permis for this people, like scooter whit no more 100cc, wearing helmet and have insurance, kits at 14 years old drive scooter very good,so wy not, that be better i think

my civic was sold all ready,my wife was so happy and so sad when i start that,so i take the car ,when i order the car i try to get a discount, i can not , just get free staff, but everything change after i check the VIN number of the car before taking delivery! my new car is probably 3/4 month old and all ready and loose value,i ask 200.000tb discount, but i get less, i am happy now, everything ok!

    This is so true.

Last month I sat into a Thailand assembled X5 and...the steering wheel was on the right side! I mean dude, one also pays 70% on top of taxes and duties for these poorly assembled cars? Definitely not worth it. Better buy a Proton.

there is no 70% tax on a car assembled in thailand.

Happy to be corrected but it was understanding they are CKD builds but to qualify for local tax breaks there has to a percentage of local content (40% comes to mind).

possble, tires, battery and other, very possible, the last two car i buy last year was one honda jazz and one honda civic RS, i have problem whit tires and battery...

sit in 2 similar cars, same options, 1 imported and 1 locally made, then you understand.

that i understand, the all car is made in germany, but BMW adapte les models en fonction des pays, par exemple thailand drive not like in europe, and little think, but the car is made in germany and is good quality!

    What exactly did you order?

In May in 2018 I bought a new European motorcycle. It was manufactured in 2017 and the 2018 model had basically no changes. So no problem. And the dealer told me before I paid.

You should know what exactly you ordered. Something like "a new M3" is no sufficient answer.

    i order a 2020 BMW i told the people i don't want a model 2019! but they try anyway!

Nobody cares red Number Plates. I waitet more than 18 Months/25k km for the white. In this time I passed many Checkpoints in different Provinces, day and night. Was never was asked for the book, insurance, DL etc. For change to the white Plates, your Dealership is responsible. So if you are insured and have the Traffic Tax Sticker on the Front window, youre on the safe side.

thai people love red plate it show you have a new car! they want to keep the red plate for ever, that why you have to pay 4000tb to return the red plate to the dealer!

I haven't thought it through in total, but I think it's a good idea to open an account in France on your name and some approved address.

With this you can open an account at Transferwise and set up a "borderless account".

You would then have a USD and EUR account with them.

You can cheaply transfer between those and send money to Thailand.

E.g. Dollars sent to your USD account from where you can send with TW to Thailand. Date and amount of transfer as you wish.

    Did I overlook something?

sorry i am not very familier whit banking ,i have one question, can i open a french account whit  deposite by transfer in us dollar and french transfer,so i have the two money i one account, and use transferwise to transfer what i need in thailand? thank you for your help!
