  1. Someone mentioned that he brought everything on himself.  I couldn't agree more.  In the middle of this pandemic (June) a resort/hotel turned him away telling him to go book online.  There had to be 10+ other places probably within walking distance that would have gladly welcomed any paying customer.  Just leave.  That 500 baht charge for the bottle of gin he brought in sounds about right to me; especially, at a 6000 baht a night hotel. On top of that inserting himself into a situation between a manager; and, an employee with absolutely no knowledge of the situation is just plain stupid. He's going to pay for that stupidity. It may not be jail time; but, his wallet is going to be a lot thinner after this is over.

I have seen flames shooting out of a ruptured pump in a gas station on a CCTV in just such a situation, police chase in the USA, the driver got away as well.

That's why I said for the most part.  The one thing you can never take out of any accident is the human error which led up to/caused the accident.  It would be interesting to read the DOT report on what caused the shear valve to not work.

Well it does seem quite strange that the UK didnt make Thailand exempt from quarantine upon arrival !!

Therefore, the country must have cases still and are not telking the people to show how good and glorious Thailand is. It is all a big government PR exercise and the foreigners will be blamed and not the Thai population. Therefore, ruining thebtourist industry further.

They seem to be continually digging the country into an economic abyss on the glorification of politics.

I'll say this as an American, any citizen of a country that has Donald Trump; or, Boris Johnson as their leader should never make a statement using that country as the gold standard for the truth.

  4. A not so newsworthy story. I was just told at the local KFC in Sisaket that they will not be selling original recipe chicken for the next 2 months.  Did a trial run online; and, the only choice was hot and spicy.  Colonel Sanders is rolling over in his grave.

    Its  rubbish plain and simple.

It's not rubbish. I went to another company in Sisaket, same answer.  What has been said on here is 100% true about Roojai they will get you the better insurance.  I then asked my agent WHY.  According to the agent Roojai has a large enough customer base that insurance companies will give them deals that smaller agencies can't get.

If only people would take the time to glance right and left whilst starting off when the lights change to green then so many of these accidents could be avoided. Everyone knows that people run red lights here but it is still in your own hands to avoid such incidents.

Obviously that is what the cars did. Those 2 motorcycles were driving hell bent for leather; and, "timed" that light perfectly. Unfortunate for them that is never a good idea in Thailand....anywhere in Thailand.

Is there any trade-in value for a Chevy nowadays? I have an older Aveo (2012) and I am just hanging onto it. It is one step away from being a piece of junk. Like other American cars I have owned, it is starting to fall apart. I am praying I can find service centers or as a last resort, repair shops that can get counterfeit parts after the end of this year. In my AVEO you can turn off the igintion with the car in D4 and pull out the key. So in the event you forget to put the car in park, you better be able to run fast if it is parked on an incline. The Chevy dealer could not come up with a remedy. I think in the States it would be recalled at least. Gen Motors is a dodgy company anyway.

I would say anyone knowing the current insurance situation is going to steer clear of any Chevy unless it's like yours (almost not worth insuring).  I have to believe that Chevy knew damn well what was going to happen that's why they were selling them so cheap right after they announced their pull out.  I believe that BS public service announcement was just to suck buyers in so they could dump their stock before the bottom fell out completely.

    why ?

quote with Roojai,  colorado 2.8 ltz 2015 less than 25,000klm, covered 540,000thb premium 5,702thb

I believe that. He got that coverage when he financed it. If you buy it you will not get that coverage.  When he goes to renew he will not have that coverage.  Anyway, I keep saying ask an insurance agent before buying.  This is just a "buyer beware" service announcement on my part. Nothing more, nothing less.

That cap of 100 K - is that for First Class ?

Will they continue to ensure for more for Third Class - i.e. if you smack a Benz will they fix the MB and only fix yours for 100 K Max ?

I was told they will not give first class.  It's second class at best.  I posted this to advise anyone who owns a Chevy; or, is thinking about buying one to get the info first hand from your insurance agent.  They are still offering "fix the other car" coverage; so, I would assume the answer to your question about the Benz is yes they will cover that.  I was pretty ticked off at the time; so, I wasn't retaining everything he was telling me.  BTW as was suggested by someone else there is no "try another insurance company option" my agent reps a bunch of companies they are all doing the same thing.
